Please put copy and paste back
Why did you change the copy and paste? It takes way too long to copy and paste an item now. I hate how it asks me a question each time I simply want to paste an item. I don’t understand this change. The question of “allow paste”should just be a setting you can pick outside of the regular function. I get behind in my note taking because i constantly have to answer the copy and paste question. When using sticky notes, it is inconvenient that the user name is displayed automatically.
While showing names can be helpful during collaboration with two or more people on a shared document, it becomes distracting when the document is used individually. I often use sticky notes like Post-it notes for personal annotations and quick notes, and in this case, the automatic display of my name feels unnecessary and disruptive.
It would be very helpful to have an option to toggle the automatic display of names on or off, depending on whether the document is being used collaboratively or individually.

Anchor the floating toolbars
Please give an option to anchor toolbars. I see lots of comments about the regular pencil tool bar and I agree with those too.
But I want to draw attention to the tool bar that pops up when editing a text box. It move from above the text box to below the text box when the keyboard comes and goes making it annoying when it pops up right under my finger that was about to tap on another element etc. This UI UX makes it difficult to do anything fast.
Please give the option to dock the text editor toolbar…

Add Opacity Control to Pen Tools
I would like to suggest adding an opacity control (0–100%) to pen tools such as the fountain pen, ballpoint pen, brush pen, pencil, highlighter, and tape pen.
This feature would allow for greater flexibility and precision in note-taking, highlighting, and creative work.

Expand Pencil Grades and Add a Mechanical Pencil Tool in GoodNotes
I would like to suggest expanding the pencil tool in GoodNotes by adding a full range of pencil hardness options, including:
12B, 11B, 10B, 9B, 8B, 7B, 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B, 2B, B, HB, F, H, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H, 9H, and 10H.
In addition, it would be great to include a mechanical pencil (sharp pencil) tool, which would be especially useful for precise writing, diagrams, and technical notes.
These additions would provide users with more realistic and flexible drawing and writing experiences, similar to traditional pencils.

Lack of snapping and reference points when using shapes
Hi everyone,
I’d like to report a limitation I’ve noticed when working with shapes in Goodnotes and ask if others feel the same.When drawing or editing shapes such as circles, squares, and lines, there is currently no snapping or anchoring system. This makes it difficult to align shapes precisely or connect them to each other.
In particular:
There are no visible reference points (such as center points, midpoints, or edge anchors).

[Eraser] Move the Eraser to the ‘Writing Tools’
Currently, the Eraser Function and Writing Tools are two different tabs. This disrupts the continuous flow of writing, as users have to frequently toggle between two different tabs. This issue is especially vital as the tabs are at a higher eye level, thus users have to take some moments to locate, and select the eraser function when needed, which also causes users to mistakenly tap onto another mini tab.
This brings about inconvenience to users, especially since the flow of thoughts is disrupted.

Functions Needed
The text tool should be pinned all the time and not having to pin it each time.
A lock function or layer function. Noteful has this and they are significantly cheaper than goodnotes.
Move the stupid back button back on the toolbar. It takes up space for my document. And covers the document. For us digital planner people the space is important.

Multiple Line Highlighting
Highlighting is very tedious on this app. I agree with the many other posts that are requesting straight line highlighting and snap to text highlighting (as an option in addition to the current highlighter). However, I would like to take the snap to text feature one step further.
If I need to highlight 3 lines in a paragraph, I shouldn’t have to make 3 separate highlighter actions. I should only have to put my pencil on the first word, and drag it to the last word. The software should highlight everything in between. In the image I attached, I put…

Option to clear page while keeping images
It would be very helpful to have a clear page option that removes handwriting and text but keeps inserted images intact. I frequently take pictures of suggested problems or textbook problems, and after some time i want to resolve then and get rid of my old computations and scribbles.

Screenshot
Each newest verion of the app makes things worse and worse. Before this latest update if you selected the lasso tool and had handwriting seletion off when you took a screenshot the handwriting would be omitted from the screenshot. Now even with handwriting seleted off you take a screenshot and it includes the handwriting. What is the point of not selecting handwriting if it is still showing in the screenshot?
If I hadn't spent $30 and had years of notes for school, I would switch apps. I am so disapointed with what this app has become. They're just pushing AI…

Add a toggle for quick selection
Quick selection is clunky and gets in the way. The tool doesn’t do layers well so realistically tapping on an object never works for me. I remember this being an option in GoodNotes 5, where I can disable click to select different objects (universal selection?) and that really simplified things for me. I’m not sure why that option is taken away.

Goodnotes should add a native option that lets the Apple Pencil Pro double tap switch between specific tools like pen and shape with no menu steps, no delays, and no forced use of Apple’s default actions. Smarter Auto-Return to Last Writing Tool
I want to describe my workflow to clarify the feature I'm asking for. I use the Apple Pencil with Goodnotes, and when I double tap the Pencil, it switches to the eraser. After I finish erasing, Goodnotes already has an option to return to the previous tool automatically, which is great.
