Multi-lingual Handwriting Recognition
In my work I write a lot in both Italian and English. This is somewhat a problem because handwriting recognition in GoodNotes seems to work only for one language at a time. And the switch between languages takes time. have you planned future improvements of the app to address the needs of people working in multi-lingual environments?

Creating Templates
Your support tools for creating new templates is poor at best. The link to the YouTube video is deleted. The most recent info is 2 yers old!?
I just want the simple answer to create my key tasks at the top of the page and daily notes below without buying templates on 3rd party sites. You seem to support the 3rd party eco system over providing SIMPLE instructions for users to for their own.9 votes -
nightmare editing | improve, text paste | that spans multiple pages
Pasting text which spans more than one page is very difficult to handle as the text which is beyond the bottom of the page, disappears.
So the only way to currently handle this is to :
(a) measure how much text can fit into the page, then
(b) somehow, 'cut' out the text at the bottom which does not fit within the page ( this is not easy to do ).
(c) go to the next page and repeat the above process till all your text is pasted across multiple pages.
A NIGHTMARE.

GoodNotes planner that connects to iOS or online calendar
Create an add in or separate app that looks and acts like a “Franklin Covey” paper planner, but is has the calendar entries from iOS or online calendars. The app would have the amazing handwriting capabilities and note taking options in addition to a planner.
There are beautifully designed digital planner templates made for GoodNotes, but I haven’t found one that actually is linked or can be linked to a native or online calendar. Would pay for this type of app.

Pencil Only Mode
I often trigger the undo gesture or the double tap to zoom unintentionally. I would love the ability to toggle off all input that ISN’T the pencil so that I can focus on quickly taking notes

Unrestricted zoom size and position of page
I love Goodnotes 5 and use it to annotate the lecture powerpoint pdfs. However, I always found it difficult to write on the right edges since I cannot place my hand comfortably on the ipad screen.
It will be great if the minimum zoom size of a page is not limited to the height or width of the page and the position of the page is not snapped to the edge of the screen. Then, I can move the right edge of the page to the center of the screen and write on it with my right hand placed on…

Page indexing / global search don’t work properly
Here I am attaching a screen shot
I have many text books in the app and in GoodNotes 5 I have turned the page indexing on
But since several days it can just show “ indexing 142 documents for search “ I have reinstalled several time
Also I have reimported all files
Basically I have tried any thing that app allows to do to stop the dialogue
Please improve global search
Though great it still needs improvement

- insert on same place as previous page (esp. useful for headlines or bulletpoints)

Enable blocking of notes / pictures / text, so it can‘t be accidentally edited (e.g. drawing a grid, then fixing it and editing only within)
You draw lines / insert pictures / etc. and then block further editing of those, so you can write and edit the text / notes within the blocked lines e.g.
- writing within a grid without having to pay attention to changing the grid

Invisible Ink / Review Mode
As a student/foreign language learner, I want to show/hide keywords or explanations from my written notes, so that I could review and recite the keywords/explanations.
As a UI designer, I want to hide/reveal annotations, so that I could a) differentiate the annotating remark from the wireframe / structured notes and b) present notes (to myself and others) with clarity.

Open previous sessions instead of having to go through multiple folders then notebook in order to get back to previously opened document
Sometimes when I close the app, or it closes by accident, when I re-open the app, I'm always at the "front" documents page. As I have multiple folders, in folders and documents, I have to click a few times in order to go back to a previous session of tabs that I had open before the app closed.
It would be really nice if when the app is opened, an option is available to go back to the previous session, or open the documents that were last open. So still open up on the documents page, but maybe a little…

Multi-item clipboard
The idea is very simple:
Being able to select different items in one page, having them in a clipboard, and pasting them in another order. said items could be text, sketches, marked up images, or even handwritten paragraphs, really could be anything. I feel like we are so used to having the one item copy paste clipboard, but this could be really a huge feature. Also making them stick to the clipboard even after the first paste, is a feature I see a lot of Chemistry/physics/engeneering notes being boosted with.

Custom Colours Shared Between Text and Pen
Currently, the only way to have custom colours that are the same in text and drawing tools is to manually duplicate the hex code for each colour from the drawing tool palette to the text tool palette and vice versa. I do a lot of colour-coding in my notes, and use both text and writing; an option for a shared custom colour palette between text and drawing would be wonderful, and save a LOT of time.

CLEAR PAGE
Unreal APP, been using for ages, can someone PLEASE add a "ARE YOU SURE" when you clear a page. The button is so close to "GO TO PAGE" Button, if you inadvertently push the clear page button in error trying to use the go to page function there is no second chance and no way to retrieve the data.VERY PAINFUL.

Shape tool should more easily adjust to standard shapes
In the latest update to Goodnotes, the shape tool doesn't easily create standard shapes, especially rectangles/squares. E.g., if the shape is drawn too quickly and the corner points are not even, the resulting shape is an irregular four-sided polygon instead of a rectangle with 90 deg corners and parallel sides. I would imagine the need for rectangles is much greater than irregular four-side polygons. Otherwise, fantastic product that I've recommended to anyone considering a tablet for note-taking.

Auto-deselect highlighter please
Like for the eraser, please add the option to deselect highlighter. The main purpose of this app is for annotating with pen, not simply highlighting. Like the eraser, it’s frustrating having to tap the pen every time I finished highlighting.
Like for reading a long book, after highlighting a good quote I want to be able to go back and annotate straight away.
This small addition would be very helpful.

line size as in GoodNotes 4
It was possible in GoodNotes 4 to draw very thin lines, 1 pixel size.
I often use GoodNotes by beginning to write something on one sheet with the stylus, then select all and reduce the size, then zoom in to write more things on the page.
On GoodNotes 4 the smallest width (0.5) was the same when reducing.
On GoodNotes 5, the smallest width is too thick, after reducing the new lines are much more thicker than the reduced ones.
This was a must for me in GoodNotes 4.

Create Sign in option if iCloud isn’t available
So I have been using GoodNotes for about two weeks on my company device, and earlier this week I tried to sync my information in iCloud. Well after an hour of attempting to turn on iCloud Drive, I researched my company guidelines to see if there was something going on with my device. Come to find out, my job prohibits the use of any cloud services to be installed on our devices (google drive, iCloud, Dropbox, etc) as a cyber security effort to keep company information safe. Screenshots and image organization (losing track of used images)
Hard to explain...
I use alot of screenshots, from textbooks and quizzes for studying..
When i need to add those screenshots to a page, i lose track of which image ive already added when the thumbnails are all the same.Think of a way to keep an eye on recently used images..
Maybe a check mark or weird highlight if the image is already used in the document.I really dont know, but being able to see which screenshot i just used in a pile of 25 nearly identical shots is rough.
