Add layers to a page. It would allow users to work on layers above without accidentally moving items that should not move in background. Layers could be turned on/off as needed.

This would be really helpful it is incredibly frustrating to try to add text to widgets or stickers for planners. It always selects the image and not the text box and I'm forever having to send it to the back. Makes it really not enjoyable to use.

I want to make use of the inserted image and draw line drawings based on it.

Would be nice to be able to lock layers. Too many times i wind up accidentally moving stickers, backgrounds, or completely erasing images.

It is so frustrating to have stickers, drawn objects, pictured, etc. move around. A lock function seems like a basic necessity for any writing or typing app that allows you to add objects.

I know that everyone was really frustrated when goodnotes came out with an handwriting crap instead of the locking feature!

LAYERS for EVERYTHING. Stickers, drawings, text, etc. would absolutely change the face of my workflow for the better. Our entire production uses GoodNotes, but since everyone takes their own notes on their own page, we end up generating multiple duplicates of documents. Introducing layers would be the first step in streamlining what is now a bit of a redundant and complicated workflow. Then, being able to LOCK layers so people working on the same document can’t edit or alter.

Then, being able to FLATTEN some layers (or, perhaps this is just LOCK) so when I take notes over existing layers/notes, it doesn’t alter what’s beneath. For example, I take notes on a script that already has copious notes flattened on it. So I use the white pen tool to “erase” said notes, so I can write on top and it looks cleaner. But, in order to do my job correctly, where I am erasing and changing my OWN notes, I have to export the “clean” version as a PDF to flatten it, and then re-import as a new flattened PDF so I can do that.

Lock a layer would be ideal, but locking at least text/title boxes and objects (backgrounds, stickers and images) is critical.

A lock feature for text/elements etc. would be a HUGE quality of life upgrade for us! Please consider this devs~

I came here specifically to suggest this feature. I digital journal and I think it’s important that when I’m trying to add a template to a page that I can lock it into the background because I hate it when I have to move a few images and it pulls my imported template with it.

Locking and grouping items (objects or “layers”) are right up there with most important missing features.

Please make this a top priority in Good Notes. The ability to lock an item for those who journal would be incredibly helpful. We use imported templates that are images. If we can lock this particular image we can lasso other images without selecting all images. Please, please, please add this to your next update :)

Yes, please! I like to write within shades boxes, and if I need to erase my pen it erases the fill too! So frustrating! I would love to be able to lock the shapes.

Most other programs already offer a lock feature. It would be great to see this added so I don’t have to learn another program.

If you double tap the lasso, you can specify what you want to lasso.. shutting off text when you want to just lasso the image, etc.
