OCR generates text boxes directly
I am a Chinese user, and the following text is generated by machine translation.
Currently, software can circle doodles to recognize text, but with some inconvenience. It is suggested that an option be added to allow users to directly convert circled text into text boxes with standard font text to exist in the document.
It is also suggested that the circled area is not limited to doodles, but any area can be circled to select screenshots for copying and dragging to other notes or applications.3 votes -
Improve Text
The text function needs improvement in my opinion. I would like it if there was an option for automatic bullets with an index instead of spacebar + - (see attached image)
This would make the text more pleasing to write and look at.Furthermore, when I copy and paste text boxes e.g. the „bold“ font disappears and i have to turn words/sentences bold again. An improvement would make my work way faster.
It‘s a small detail, but it seems that whenever i type the text and i want to edit the first word or add a word in front of…

less steps for copying and changing color
Every time I copy or do screen capture, it takes me 3 steps from different buttons to copy the picture, so my hand needs to move up, top right for copying.... can streamline for copying process?
Also, every time I change color, I need to move my pen from left to right for selecting different color, is it possible to allocate the changing color just under "pen" button? So my hand can move less for that action?

Please consider this recommendations
I am a new user I really enjoy this app but there are some features that will be handy for all for us users of Goodnotes 5. Starting with a setting of margins for the templates ( I print my notes to put them on a binder and some of my notes gets cut of with the hole puncher), a ruler (this will be super handy, I know I can use the shape tool but there's people that work with measurements)

Add option to always display pages in full width when opening notebooks
When you open a notebook pages are initially displayed in full height. First thing you have to do is double tap to make the app use the available space of the display. I use A4 paper format, not GoodNotes standard.

Handwritten paragraph reorganizing
It would be really cool if you combineed your handwriting recognition with your typing tool. Do stuff like intending lines of handwritten notes, or left justifying your handwritten notes after the fact. (I know you can use the lasso, but sometimes it gets tedious)

Add option to choose how long you must hold your stroke for the new perfect shape feature
I love the new perfect shape feature. However as a maths student I mosty want to use it to make straight lines for fractions or square roots and I feel like you need to hold down the stroke for too long before it is straightened. I disrupts my writing flow and I feel like allowing users to set the delay (50% faster or slower maybe) would improve the app while keeping it simple enough to use. (the option could be hidden in a menu)

Inhance ePaper with eProcesses (Tagging of date, tasks, questions, ...)
I want to make my hand-notes from work more searchable and actionable.
I was thinking of tagging and defining elements: e.g. add in current date/time (press on a handwritten date and tag it OR add in current date) to search it later. Additionally, I can imagine tasks tags, questions tags which then are searchable in a separate list/table etc.

Webclient
With a web client, the app would be absolutely cross-platform. Windows users (often business users) would certainly benefit.

Option to modify imported documents
Please add an option to modify imported documents. It would be really helpful if we could edit documents that we import directly, for example change the text.
Could allow you to fix typos or expand upon what someone else has written in their documents. Or be able to add more space in between the text to write your own text, take notes on the text you imported or add images between the text.
Another example: if you import an questions sheet it would allow you to add extra space between two questions to show your working right under the question…3 votes -
Writing to Text ( with the ability to have custom fonts or even beautiful handwritten ones)
I Struggle a lot with my handwriting and while it’s still legible it’s not always astethic so I would greatly appreciate a feature in which as you write it gets converted to text as you go (you can switch this off in your settings). The most important part is to change the text font, I would love fonts made to look like still handwritten notes. I would also love to be able to change the text font and even download font that many people have put up that looks like writing. This would allow me to still maintain retention and…

Allow editable areas in templates
I want to create templates for GoodNotes that have definable areas I can write in. If my template has a bounding box, I should be able to define the box’s borders and not allow handwriting outside that bounding box. It’s the difference between actual templates and just applying an image or pdf as a background
