Totally agree with this. Procreate, for example, has a great nudge feature. The only thing I would add to the above (at the risk of diluting this feedback) is an “align” feature. Nudging, snapping, and alignment usually work together.

This would be a great feature, with the ability to toggle on/off. I love GoodNotes’ drawing features, but when trying to draw several unconnected lines the same length, it’s impossible.

One feature I'm missing is that you can insert guides or a grid into an existing document (in my case the lecture notes). That way you could take notes neatly and straight and when you're done just hide the guides again. That would be great!

I really like to see this feature. Notabilty has it and its ubercool to be able to align drawings boxes shapes etc. Like if i have a series of images i want align, its now impossible to align all these images

Aligning text boxes relative to other text boxes and the page (e.g. centralising a text box)

As someone with hand tremors, it is difficult to get things like text boxes and pictures and doodles into position easily. It would be nice if I could select an item, move it close to the desired position, then nudge it up/down/left/right with the arrows on the keyboard.

- I know tapping on the screen deselects, so I am not sure how to accomplish this with gestures when there isn’t a keyboard... maybe drag the selection with one finger and hold down another finger to allow you to tap outside the selection to nudge it in that direction...

The option to drag grid lines from the top or sides and snap selections to those lines would work as well. (Plus, if there are default grid line layouts we could choose from that will snap text- even separate boxes- to standard notebook paper, that would be awesome!)

I also would like to vote for this feature:
- snap geometric shapes switchable grid/raster
- selectable grid size (master settings). (If not possible, 1mm grid should be OK)

I would love to have the option to have a "magnetic grid" used in combination with a geometric form tool to draw some lines that start exactly at the corners of the grid.

When creating shapes it would be helpful to have guidelines that pop up that show...

1. Shapes are aligned and same size eg. a group of squares are the same size and lined up in a straight line

2. Center point for circle, lines, etc when the shape is selected, and snap to center

Snap to grid is annoying when you want the free form . Need a toggle switch on/off so it doesn’t interfere with creative moment

Absolutely love this feature, I’d also love an option (so people can switch it off if, like you, they don’t like it) to have the “hold pen for straight line/shapes” option you mentioned. It’s the only thing other than audio transcribing that keeps me using notability more than GoodNotes.

I would prefer it to be aligned to guides - that you can make appear by dragging your pen from the side, like any imaging tool (photoshop, illustrator, etc.)

This would have the better advantage of being useful even with your own template !

This would be so helpful to get proportions right, if drawing on dotted or quad paper.

While the current shape tool can be improved, I actually prefer this over Notability's for a few reasons. One being that it takes much longer to draw graphs in Notability since you have to hold every time a straight line is needed. In Goodnotes, graphs can be drawn faster since every approximate line is straightened.

But one feature I miss from Notability: lines snap to grid!! Another improvement would be refining the detection of straight lines- if I draw a line across 2 grids, it should, preferably, be automatically straightened to that length. Now it's either too short or too long.

When writing text boxes on ruled lines, when they are not snapped, they look super strange! Can this please be fixed so that the text boxes align properly with dotted/ruled lines?

Please make guides for text boxes so that we can have neater notes! Like what notability has. Thank you!

This feature would be key to using GoodNotes more professionally, bc you can create cleaner and semi-standardized layouts, like a basis such as PowerPoint Master

Guides, ie center edge and picture. So the all picture are in line. Like apple pages.
