[Toolbar] Hide Toolbar / Reduce Toolbar Space
It would be a lot more useful to make more writing space and less distractions if the tab and document bar would be hidden while writing, I only need the tools bar, not the other bar, it only occupies useful space.

If I had an option to choose whether I'd end world hunger or remove the floating tool bar, I would choose to remove the floating toolbar.

The floating text bar just gets in the way now when I'm typing... I can't seem to move it or close it... is there a way? It covers up info on the page I need to see as well. Also, i don't like having to click on the text box every time I want to use the pen now.... am I missing something???

The floating text toolbar is always in the way of what I’m trying to see to type. Please get rid of it or offer the option to turn off this feature!!!

You don’t even need a button. Just tap the screen once to make it go away. You should be able to scroll with a hidden toolbar in edit mode, then just tap the screen to bring up all the options. Way less capable apps have this feature.

Get rid of the floating toolbar PLEASE! I hate the look of it and if you move it to the side, you can't change between pen sizes without clicking into a menu. I've used Goodnotes for about 8 years, but I am seriously considering a switch.
FYI everyone, if you purchased Goodnotes 5, you can refert! That's what I did.

Actually before the change this was a complete uninterrupted additional third menu/toolbar row, that was always visible and in the foreground. It took up the same vertical space as the floating toolbar does now. Some find it more distracting because of the new „floating“ effect, but no additional space is lost.
On the contrary, now you can anchor it to the side, only obscuring page margins, thereby leaving more vertical space for reading. And when tapping on the main menu bar pen icon it disappears completely, while still letting you use the selected pen or highlighter.
Also, when no tools are needed while reading, there is the „read only“ view.

Very important for me to be able to hide the floating toolbar/menu!
I don’t see the point of having separate places for the tools to be placed in…

I do not prefer the floating toolbar idea!
Why do you need two toolbars — One floating and one fixed? It reduces useful reading or writing space.
Need an option back to hide the floating toolbar and reclaim space.
UI elements are not supposed to be the focus, content is.
This inability to hide the added floating toolbar is causing me to not use the app at all!

The old text at the top was better now its hard to change font size and things like that

Get rid of the newly introduced floating Menus. When using this app to annotate PDFs it blocks the document and makes this incredibly cumbersome. If you can't get rid of it, at least make it optional so I can put it back in the top navigation so its not in the way.

Please remove this ridiculous toolbar.
The toolbar is an essential place to find your tools - The way you could customize it was just great - Also it did not hide content behind a floating thingy.
Your decision to hide the ruler behind another tap (And just not allowing us to bring it to the front) is another miserable choice. How dare you?

Perhaps a drill down option and/or expand such that the toolbar is always one row, but minimizes top level options when one enters additional pen level detailed options (level 2).
There could be a arrow up to navigate back up to seeing the full level 1 toolbar again.

YES - I need to option to further customize the toolbar so that my writing page is maximized on the screen. I really only want 1 toolbar row like the app used to be.
There is an option to hide the status bar, but I often glance up to see the date, time and battery levels on my iPad.
Perhaps a compact status bar option would still show the date, time & battery...
AND fill the unused space with the open tabs? -

I hate the new floating toolbar that came with the new update. Very frustrating. How do I access the tutorial for the updates?

Have you tried tapping on the selected tool in the blue bar? That usually gets rid of the floating one for me.

Different James here. The floating tool bar, no matter where it goes also takes up an annoying amount of space.
With an apple pencil on ipad, its easy to switch between two tools - say pen and highlighter. For those of use who primarily use GN for readings, it would be great to hide either or both of these tool bars.
Hiding the floating toolbar currently is undone by changing tools, either with keyboard commands or tapping the pencil. It would be awesome if - at least - the floating bar could stay hidden when switching tools.

Create an option for the users to hide tool bar and other tabs by hiding them in a drop down button. This enables the user to write in bigger and fuller screen.
It would also be convenient to have an option for a floating tool bar where we can enable tools like just the pen, eraser, and lasso while writing in fullscreen mode.
