[Palm Gestures] Disable Palm Gestures
Please introduce the possibility of palm gesture removal since the palm detection doesn't work properly when the iPad is used horizontally.
When we write on an imported picture, every time the palm touches the screen, GoodNotes switches to the lasso tool, and it's kinda annoying.
This feature is always on even if the iPad settings say to ignore the palm.106 votes -
Feature request: Inline LaTeX support for typed text in GoodNotes
Hi GoodNotes team,
Iโm a heavy GoodNotes user on [iPad / Mac / iPhone] and I absolutely love using the app for studying and taking math/technical notes.
Iโve noticed that GoodNotes currently doesnโt support inline LaTeX rendering in regular typed text (for example, writing $x^2 + y^2 = 1$ in a text box and having it render as nicely formatted math). I know you have great math / equation tools, but those generate separate equation objects rather than letting us mix math and normal text seamlessly in the same paragraph.

Undo the automatic update
How can I undo this last version of Goodnotes 6? I liked it better when the recording symbol wasnโt this horribly obvious as a big orange square. and I like it better when the toolbar didnโt move. Is there a way I can undo this update and back to the previous version of Goodnotes 6?!

split screen feature update
The new split screen feature on an ipad is very annoying and difficult to use since the update. As I am using one side of my screen to see powerpoints and articles, and using the others to write notes on, it constantly changes sizes and makes me toggle back and forth and has been very frustrating to use. Please change it back to the 3 dots at the top and make it easier for all students to easily take notes.

Eraser and writing aids
The eraser tool works but can get glitchy because when you erase it disappears but then it reappears! It should just erase in one go. Then, there are the writing aids that pop up in the bottom. When you click hide, more just keep coming and you canโt focus

Highlighter synchronization on iPad and MacBook
It would be nice if the highlighters and pictures you insert on the MacBook would not change its position on my iPad. whenever i highlight something on my iPad or on my MacBook or even insert a picture, the same page on the other device is a little shifted and not on the original position.
I uploaded a picture: I wrote the text on my MacBook and highlighted on my iPad. The highlighter on the my MacBook was then shifted from its original position on my iPad. The highlighter on my iPad is still on the original position.6 votes -
Allow password recovery option for when we forget a password
Allow some means to recover password for when a password is forgotten. Or disable the master lock. Allow user to set different passwords for different files if desired.

Infinite canvas is not searchable
The infinite canvas currently does not export as a searchable pdf file. When we export the file, it works like a picture which gets pixelated when we zoom
So it would help a lot if we could search handwriting and text within the infinite canvas5 votes -
Ability to skew while cropping images.
It would be awesome if we could skew images taken with the app by adjusting the four corners of the rectangular crop independently similar to how microsoft lens works (please see attached photos for example). As it stands I am using that app and then importing the images I take of whiteboards and documents.

AirPlay Blurry Text and Images
This seems like a bug and it makes Goodnotes almost unusable for me. On my iPad I can see all the text and images fine, but on AirPlay, my students see a very pixelated version of all text and images.
This happens both on whiteboards and pages, which leads me to think that it has something to do with a parameter that you might have set for the render resolution. The render resolution is too low for the current zoom level.
This bug is making it really difficult to teach, could we potentially downgrade to an older version?

Hello, I really enjoy your site. I work at a community college with students with disabilities and I refer students often. I noticed when I ran your site through wave.webaim.org and there were a few areas that could be easily fixed. I am requesting that you use the site to improve the accessibility.

Auto-Capitalization BROKEN
This isnโt an idea, but a broken part of the app. Currently, when a text box is made and anything is handwritten into it, the text is not capitalized, even if there was no way to misinterpret the letter. For example, it is impossible to mix up an uppercase G with a lowercase g, yet anything typed with an uppercase G will be switched to lowercase, including the beginning of the sentence. Please fix this! It didnโt used to happen. I currently have to go into any text box I make and erase the first letter, pull up the keyboard,โฆ

Goodnotes Page Separation
I love Goodnotes so much as a full time graduate student in chemistry. I can draw molecular structures, fill out pdf assignments with handwritten answers, and edit my work super easily.
I spend a lot of time uploading PDFs for homework assignments which allows me to write directly on them and export the pages into my grading platform. An idea that I have had (mostly for aesthetic purposes) is regarding the outline performance in a notebook; I add important pages to my outline, but its not necessarily a helpful tool until my notebook is over 50 pages or so. study sets
Why can't I slide pages while using study sets? When I'm in reading or editing mode (rather than in learning or practicing mode), it's unable to swipe left to add new pages and to swipe right to check the previous one. That's never happened before and it's really frustrating. Hope to be solved asap.

Stage Manager bug: minimized window sticks to screen edge
On iPad, when using Stage Manager (Show Mode), minimizing an app window does not behave as expected. Instead of collapsing or disappearing, the minimized window remains visible as a shrunken panel stuck at the edge of the screen. This creates visual clutter and interferes with multitasking, since the window continues to occupy space even though the user intended to minimize it.
