Movable tool bar above text box
When using the text box to answer questions on homework, the pop up box covers up the question I’m trying to answer. So can we please make that movable or hideable?

Shape tool color/thickness should match pen color/thickness automatically
My app just updated, making the toolbar different. Now if I want to use the shape tool to make straight lines or something, I have to manually change every setting from size to color to match my pen tool every single time I change colors/sizes. This makes it very frustrating when I do color coded notes every single day that need me to switch between colors, line thickness, and free drawing vs straight lines constantly (as is visible in my attached screenshots). It was never an issue before, so the fact that it is now is very upsetting. On top…

[Handwriting] Integrate smart script
Please integrate the ios18 new notes app feature. The smart script will make me it faster and easier to write. It edits the users handwriting allowing to make it easier to read or add more and other things. Smart Script also maintains the look and feel of a user’s personal handwriting, automatically refining it in real time to be smoother, straighter, and more legible. Please I beg for this feature!!!

Drag and drop colour fill
Instead of having to colour in drawings or shapes by hand (which is time consuming and sometimes difficult), being able to drag a colour of you choosing to fill inside a shape would be amazing! They have this feature on Procreate and it saves so much time and stress. I would love this to be added to Goodnotes too!

Stop changing the UI
As a Goodnotes user for the past 10 years: please stop changing the UI. I know the business and product teams probably feel pressure to keeping adding more stuff to get more users and growth whatever, but you are alienating your hardcore power users that have been recommending this product for 10 years.
UX Designers: the existing toolbar was great. stop refactoring stuff just because you built a new thing and don't know where to shove it.
Product Managers: Just make a really solid note taking app. Stop trying to add more stuff in the same app. Whiteboarding should be…

Decouple zoom window from main view
When writing in the zoom window, the place where you are writing has to appear also in the main view. This is sometimes inconvenient as it may be handful to write in page 3 but seeing page 1 for instance.

Screen record
It would be extremely helpful if GoodNotes supported video recording of the note-taking process, including screen capture and optional audio recording. This feature could allow users to:
• Record lectures or self-explanations while writing
• Rewatch how notes were created step by step
• Create educational content or revision videos directly within the appSuch a feature would be especially beneficial for students, teachers, and content creators who use GoodNotes as their primary digital notebook.
I believe this addition would further strengthen GoodNotes as a leading tool for education and productivity. Thank you for considering this suggestion and for continuously…

Shape editing was better in Goodnotes 6
I regularly use the shape to draw curved lines and then edit their shape to create larger, more complex shapes. Currently, that‘s next to impossible:
- Editing points don‘t scale with zooming; especially when editing small lines, the points now cover up the lines entirely.
- These lines are often glitched out and turn invisible while editing, especially when multiple lines are connected together.
- After editing a line, Goodnotes automatically selects the lasso tool instead of the pen, making the drawing process very tedious.None of these issues occured with Goodnotes 6, I hope these issues are fixed with…

Organisation Tab
I really like the Idea of a coloration Tab or planning tab. So that I can give myself tasks with deadlines, have a calender for exams etc.
If I then could invite people to join my project where I can assign tasks like in other Apps (see notion, microsoft teams or asana).
All in all I want a feature where I cannot only work but plan and get reminded for my work without using a second app.1 vote -
Menu redesign
Right now it feels the navigation part is taking too much space vertically. I would consider remove the top-most dark blue part of the navigation panel, as for the functions there, they can be moved to the tool row (pencil, eraser, color etc). This may make the tool row a bit crowded, but one can always add a scrolling to fit all the tools we have right now.

pen & highlighter straight line changing point
In the newer versions, the blue changing points for drawing straight lines are very big. If you zoom in, it becomes impossible to be exact.

Whiteboard mode
Hi,
I’m using a lot goodnotes for math textbook etc…
And when reading those books I create whiteboard for each book wich becomes very messy with time and this is my idea. When the use wants to have a « whiteboard » for the current textbook it creates a whiteboard attached to the book and you can access it only by the book2 votes -
More Keyboard Shortcuts
Please add more to the keyboard shortcut list! I work with a macro pad right now and it is super useful to be able to switch between the tools. But it would be a huge improvement to able to toggle between the colors, and sizes. Even better make the keyboard shortcuts customizable. Continuing to work on the keyboard shortcuts in any capacity would make a large improvement to my work flow.

When taking notes or writing in a document, there’s often not enough space on the page. In such cases, adding a “page expansion” feature that allows users to extend the writing area within the same page would provide greater flexibility and continuity. This would be particularly useful for users who prefer to keep related content on a single page rather than having it scattered across multiple pages. Thank you for your ongoing efforts in creating such a powerful and thoughtfully designed app. We hope you’ll consider this suggestion in future updates.

Video clips and more writing tools and drag and drop of specfic page to my mind map
Everything is good I mainly use Goodnotes for mind mapping my lectures the only hindrance I faced that I was not able to add video clips to my notes, and also when I import PDF of my lecture notes in good notes. I can’t just drag and drop pages from like a specific slide to directly into my Notes, which is like a another hindrance because I have to take screenshot again and again and then put it back in. Also, this one is not a criticism, but a suggestion that there could be more tools for writing. It would…
