Pull to add NEW page rather than duplicate last page
Pull to Add Page is a great feature. However, in my case it seems to always duplicate the last page in the document. But that doesn't seem to make sense. For example, why - if I have marked up an image in GoodNotes, - would I want to duplicate it? Then I just have another page that is the same as the one before it.
So I find myself constantly pulling to add page, and then having to delete the newly created (duplicate) page, and then I have to go up to the dropdown menu and choose the template. It…

Please add the square root symbol (aka the radical) to the recognized shapes so when you draw one freehand it snaps to the correct shape. It can be difficult drawing one without the top part getting squiggly. (tags: math, algebra, calculus, statistics, science, engineering, shapes)

Ability to add margins to your document when exporting
When exporting handwritten notes or handwritten assignments, it would be very helpful to be able to add margins after the fact so that it can be printed and/or graded. I often write to the very edge of the screen and this neither looks good nor is practical if I want to print and put in a binder. This is a feature Notability has and one of the only things I like better about that app.

Pages move when I don’t want them to
I will be typing on a page and all of the sudden it will move me 10 pages over or back. Makes it annoying in classes and taking notes.

handsfree page flipping
Sometimes when I mix dialogues for film I need both hands on the faderboard and can not flip the pages manually. It would be great if I could use a gesture like blinking my left eye or something like that.

Setting default option outline filter
It would be great if we could (globally) set whether we wanted both pdf outline and custom outline to both be shown, or only have the custom outline shown.
Right now I have to manually remove the "pdf outline" option from each document, everytime I open that note. It becomes problematic as the pdf slides provided by my professors have nearly each page as part of the outline on that option, often with missing or nonsensical titles. Similar to on Microsoft word, when placing an around text, the text should have an option to automatically wrap around the image in different ways.

Add fill in for highlighter
Please add a fill in for highlighters. It will be helpful for people who use highlighters for planners to mark timings.

Improve the compatibility with the iPad Magic Keyboard
The MagicKeyboard works really badly on GN. Sometimes you can't scroll back and forth on the trackpad at all or it just jumps back and forth.
As soon as you open a second window, you sometimes can't write at all and have to close the app completely so that it doesn't work again after 2 minutes.
You should also be able to write on the line and not always in between.3 votes -

I can't write well with tablet at macbook
I use goodnotes with screen tablet at macbook.
But when I wrote sth with tablet pen fast, it doesn't work well.
I can't write sth smoothly. and it show me broken letter.
In ipad it's ok. but only in macbook, i can't write freely.you can see the attached file.
I intended y=ax+by. but it is broken like that.
I teach students with goodnote but this make me difficult to teach with goodnote.
please help me if you can.

Add the possibility to edit an existing PDF, instead of edit a copy of it.
It would be amazing if it was possible to edit an existing PDF. Right not, Goodnotes can't, and the only way to actually have the modified PDF as output, is to manually export all of it.
Imagine you have a sync folder (maybe with Dropbox, or Syncthings, etc), and you open a PDF (that is inside that sync folder) with Goodnotes. You start to edit the PDF with Goodnotes and everybody that has that sync folder, have the edits updated almost in real time. Share folders with team members and get notifications about changes
I would like to have the option to share a whole folder with team members. All of the members should have the possibility to work in all notes inside the folder and to add new notes to the folder.
Also I would like to get notifications when someone changed or added things inside the shared folder/note. So that I can directly jump in and see the changes. It feels quite cumbersome that someone has to contact me outside the system to tell me that he worked inside the notes/added notes etc.161 votes -

Move the document name down arrow
Three dots on top of the screen for split view prevent the user from pressing the down ( v ) arrow on the right of the document name when the name is short. Please move the arrow or resize the touchbox for the arrow.

Screen Share To Mac App
Allow the screen when using GoodNotes on iPad to be shared with the Mac App version so you can see what you're doing in real-time on the Mac App. I currently use another writing program that does this, which is amazing. I can jump on Zoom and work on documents and teach. Likewise, I can join my tutoring sessions, and my teachers can see the work I'm doing and annotate on screen, etc. I also give presentations and live training, so having the illustrations up on the projector in from of the class is great.
