2. Real Dark Mode / Exporting Dark Paper in white with black ink?

   Dear GoodNotes team,

   At the moment there is only the option of having dark paper as a background, which cannot be exported as a PDF in white, as the handwritten text remains white.

   I thought of a few methods how to use dark paper, which is easier on the eyes, but can still be exported on white paper.

   Method 1:

   New intelligent template, which is based on the dark mode settings.

   - Dark Mode enabled: Dark paper and white ink
   - Dark Mode disabled: White paper and black ink
   

   Method 2:

   New Background setting, which changes the appearance of the current paper (like OneNote).

   Method 3:

   It is possible to export notes without the background, this works fine on white paper, but on dark paper the white ink disappears in the white background.

   You could introduce a function that inverts white ink into black (colors other than black and white would remain as they are) This function could be placed next to
   The background option while exporting.

   At the moment there are only two options, either you work with white paper so that you can export it later in white with black ink, or you work with dark paper, but you can only export it in black, otherwise the white ink disappears on white paper.

   Some schools and universities like mine only accept normal white paper

   There are already suggestions here, but I started a new one because the others did not have a correct solution.

   OneNote and other apps have this feature, so it's not impossible to implement. Even Apple's standard Notes app can do this.

   I guess the third method is the easiest to implement. Exporting dark pages without the background is pretty useless at the moment.

   Since exporting with white paper is essential for me, I will probably stay with OneNote, unfortunately.

   I hope you can introduce this feature soon, because it is desperately needed.

4. Make Highlight Align with Text Automatically

   The current highlight tool adjusts its position based on how user draws the line. However, lines drawn manually may not perfectly align with text from the PDF file, so the inconsistent gaps between different highlights may look awkward and ugly.

5. Preset colors for text boxes

   Right now we have presets for pens and highlighters but not text. Even though you can select the text and recolor it with your existing presets. I also wish there was a way to import color presets and or color pick.

6. Scrolling direction options

   Currently if we choose vertical or horizontal scrolling it applies to all the documents, it would be good if we can choose to apply it to all documents or just the current document. For eg, I prefer vertical scrolling for my worksheets/slides from school and horizontal scrolling for my own notes (so it's really like a notebook).

9. Geometric Tools

   I use "GoodNotes 5.4" with iPad Pro 2018, I am totally satisfied, however the geometric tools should be improved. Ideal would be to add predefined geometric figures, triangle, rectangle, square, circle. I have a lot of difficulty creating perfect squares, there are no way to manage the fill separately from the contour line. It is not possible to draw dashed lines. The option adding layers in drawings would also be nice. Are you planning to add these features in the future?

10. Sort by date added to GoodNotes

    Currently when sorting by date, documents are sorted by date they are last modified. I'd prefer an option to sort by date first added to GoodNotes. e.g. I add lecture slides on each day of class and would like them to stay in that order even though I recently wrote stuff on the oldest lecture.

    Add an undo function that allows a template change to be undone. I’ve lost lecture note slides when trying to change the template of a blank page inserted between the slides.

14. a simple one step bookmark

    a bookmark icon on the top menu to bookmark the page you are viewing with just one tap. Just like when using a post-it on a book.
    Current bookmark menu has too many steps including entering the bookmark title.
    Bookmark menu inside the "add" menu can be used to edit the title and so on.

15. Could you please include black paper? For stargazing, notes on white papier are very disturbing

    Could you include the option to choose black paper (or paper of any color)? For stargazing in the darkness of the night, notes on white papier ruin the dark adaption of the eyes. The ability to use a black background would be beneficial. Thanks!

16. Improve Indention Handling in Zoom Mode

    Assume that I move the zoom box to a position in the middle of the page and start writing. When I hit the end of the line or touch enter, I expect the zoom box to jump to the same horizontal position I moved it to earlier and not to the left end end of the page.
    I know this can be handled by setting left indention manually. But having this kind of auto-detect left border would be a welcome addition.

    Short Version:
    After drag of zoom box, set left indention = x position of zoom box

17. Add support for Boxcryptor (encrypted Dropbox)

    Please support Boxcryptor. This allows to store files encrypted on Dropbox. You support dropbox - you should support Boxcryptor as well. Never mind - but who wants to store his private stuff in the cloud without encryption ... :).

18. New Update

    I know these are for a single complaint, however, the entire update is the issue and the app would be better reverted to the previous version.

    This has been the worst update in a long time. First and foremost, the bookmark feature has been absolutely stripped on confidence and essentially ruined. Using the new text boxes is a nightmare - the new editing tool the sits next to the text box simply obstructs the document, is clunky, and makes editing the text boxes infinitely more difficult. Also, there is no longer the ability to use apple’s native ‘look up’ feature in text boxes - as someone who uses the app in a field with many complex words that I have to look up frequently, this is widely inconvient. The tool bar now unnecessarily hangs down over the document - it was fine before and didn’t need changed. There is less tool customization (yes you can “customize” the tool bar, but now within the editing tool there’s a pencil which cannot be removed and is unnecessary for most work.) The smaller tool bar with the weird overhang also makes fewer colors visible without having to scroll. With inserting an image, the box now shows up over the document, and for what? Before the image box was conveniently in the tool bar and could be expanded as needed. Adjusting highlighter shapes is also now not possible - instead of being able to correct a highlighter shape after it snaps in 2 dimensions independently, it is now only adjustable in a fixed ratio — again, for what?

    This update is a major down-grade and is truly baffling all around.

    I know these are for a single complaint, however, the entire update is the issue and the app would be better reverted to the previous version.

20. Features Request For Goodnotes Beta for Android&Windows

    1.First of all, we cannot edit when we are not connected to the internet. This is really bad. We should be able to use the application while offline.
    Also, the writing experience with the stylus pen in the android version is not smooth.

    2.You should make a trash bin.

    3.In order to use pen options more effectively, you should make a floating favorite bar and you should not set a number limit on this feature and we should be able to position this bar horizontally or vertically.

    4.There is a 100 mb file size limit when importing notes. This is really annoying. We cannot import our notes above this size because some pdfs can be several gb size. We don't want to be limited on this.

    5.For the convenience of drawing graphs, features such as dotted and dashed can be brought to the pen.

    6.You can bring pencil feature for those who like to use it.

    7.The automatic shape feature for shapes such as regular pentagon, regular hexagon, etc. does not work properly. It can be improved further.

    8.We can only add images and text boxes inside the notes. However, we should be able to add file types such as pdf, audio file. I know your IOS version has these features.

    9.Even if we select the darkest color in the highlighters, it becomes darker when we go over the place we marked. This is a bit annoying. It would be better if the color don't darken when we go over it again in the darkest color.

    10.For your Android version, the ability to move the storage directory of the application to the sd card would be very good because we have storage problems. (This would be a really life-saving feature.)

    11.A percentage selection feature related to the zoom feature is really a very essential need.

    12.The selection tool is only for moving selected objects. It would be nice if it also offers functions such as angular rotation, copying, deleting.

    13.When importing notes, there is a bug that sometimes forces you to repeat this process. Be aware of this.

    14.A function to lock the screen zoom in and out would be nice. You should also include a reading mode and in this reading mode the zoom lock feature should be available without forcing you to edit notes.

    15.I know you have the ability to write and preview simultaneously with the audio file in your IOS version, it would be great if you could enable it for Android and windows.

    16.I don't know if it exists but I couldn't do it :) We cannot sort the note pages. This feature can be very effective in page preview.

    17.You should definitely add functions like sorting, copying, moving notes and folders. These are indispensable features in terms of organization.

    18.Page and cover templates can be imported.

    19.Especially in your windows version, you can have smoother transitions when scrolling pages. Especially when scrolling from top to bottom with the mouse wheel, it scrolls very disproportionately.

    20.You can bring the ability to export notes. This is a really important need.
