  1. I use the Apple pencil for writing and would like 1 finger scrolling all the time. Currently the 1-finger scrolling setting only kicks in until after I write the first stroke using the pencil. It's annoying that I have to remember to scroll using 2 fingers before I write the first word.

  2. When the zoom window is first activated, its position on the original page is centered. When the zoom window is again activated, its position is the last position zoom window was located.

I wonder if it's an improvement to allow the user to choose where the zoom window magnify after tapping on the "zoom window" button. Basically should it be a two-step gesture like this: First tap on the "zoom window" button, then tap the document page where your want the zoom window to magnify.

The reason for this suggestion is that I usually find myself adjusting the location of…

  3. It would be awesome to have a RSVP reader that allowed selecting sections of text to speed-read! For example like https://www.spritz.com/

  6. When reading an article or reviewing a professor’s lecture slides (they always upload it as a PDF instead of a PPT format so I can’t edit the way it is exported). GoodNotes often fills the whole page with the PDF. It makes it great for reading, however, there isn’t much space to annotate. I usually get around this by zooming out but GoodNotes is a bit more rigid when it comes to that. Other than that it is a great app!

  7. The new ipad Pro (2019) allows you to open Notes by tapping the Apple Pencil to the screen and instantly start writing a Note. Once I have done this, there is no way to efficiently share this content directly to GoodNotes. Allowing GoodNotes into the Share options would help streamline the use of both apps.

  8. The handwriting experience in GoodNotes is now perfect but texting is not. I suggest that users can select an area of the page and use markdown language (or Latex for academic purposes)to organize formal notes, including mathematical functions. Such feature would be even better if one day we can see a macOS GoodNotes app, cause handwriting is not the primary way we interact with laptop.

  10. I would like to convert an entire note to plain text (including all pages) with one export/convert/copy operation and not have to lasso select each page one-at-a-time.

  12. In GoodNotes 5, the ink in the fountain pen is too sensitive. More pressure makes the line much thicker than in version 4. And less pressure makes the line much thinner than in version 4. In version 4, the range of the ink thickness was much narrower. I would use ballpoint pen mode but that has no pressure sensitivity at all. Essentially I would love some option for a little pressure sensitivity but not too much. Can you please make that happen? In the meantime I will keep using version 4. Thank you!

  13. Set Text writing with Keyboard as default or make it so that you can write exactly on the lines of the Paper.
I want to be able to import new fonts especially: century gothic and Arial Narrow

  14. Hi, since I am left handed, I‘d like to move the current page a bit to the right so i am able to rest my hand on the page. Currently the page snaps to the left hand Side. The only work around is to use the app in landscape mode.
I‘d like to be able to free position the page on the background.

  15. It would be nice, if Good Notes would feature a tool to create geometrical shapes the same way as it is possible in Word or other text editors, so that you can tap a button, choose the shape and place it, since the given tool is often not able to interpret correctly how I want the shape to be exactly. It is often useful as it is easier to use, but both possibilities would be great.

  16. In both GoodNotes 4 and 5 PDF "Back" (last viewed page) links are broken. At least in GoodNotes 4 you had the option of jumping up to the menu and selecting "Go Back" from the navigation menu.

PLEASE either fix "Last Viewed Page" links (preferred) or re-enable the Go Back menu item. Without that jumping to a to-do list to add an item and then getting back to your notes page is really cumbersome. With it that workflow is super easy.

  18. It would be fantastic to be able to save preferred pen weight and colour combinations, say in the form of a ‘pencil case’ or similar, so that the same or preferred combinations can be easily reverted to, across files.

  19. As a left hander I frequently find myself accidentally touching the upper menu with the side of my hand. This causes unwanted changes in the pen type or turns on the zoom feature. I would be great to be able to hide or palm protect the upper menu to prevent this from happening.

  20. It appears that the only way to get a white piece of paper is to use the standard paper. It would be great to be able to change the default paper type color within a notebook.
