Direct Document Access: Edit and Sync PDFs in GoodNotes from iCloud and Local Folders
Situation:
As a frequent user of GoodNotes, my primary activity involves editing PDF files. I import numerous documents into the app to annotate and review them using my Apple Pencil. These edits include highlighting key information and jotting down spontaneous thoughts. Once edited, I export these PDFs to store them in my personal file system, including iCloud, for access through various other tools like Obsidian or Adobe Acrobat Pro.Improvement:
I propose an enhancement where GoodNotes can directly link to specific folders on iCloud or local storage on a MacBook. Instead of importing PDFs into GoodNotes' internal storage, this feature…7 votes -
Lock function is required
Lock function is required
When I memorize and exercise, I want to rewrite the content on the page after finishing work.
In this case, lock function is required so that previously made part can not be erased.Entire page deleting function is required after rewriting.

Fix Search function, please
there is an issue with it highlighting the correct word so it will show that the word is on the page but it won't highlight it or if it does highlight it the highlighting is not actually on the word so you still have to look around the highlighting to find the word you're looking for
there is a glitch that makes searching really slow so I have to retype the word a few times for it to show up
sometimes it says the word is not in the document but when I search on other platforms it comes up…

Split screen color bar
Color options when u split screen on the iPad. Why can’t I change colors easily im working in split screen. It is soooo inconvenient.

Lecture Slides next to notes template
Please add a feature where you can attach a blank sheet (either the same size or slightly smaller) directly next to a downloaded document. I understand that you can open the same notebook in a different window, but it is not functional to have the notes go below the document (or in my case lecture PowerPoint). It is impossible to keep my written notes organized while writing on the same slide as my notes. It is confusing and distracting. Think like a Cornell note style template, where you have room to write notes as well

Add recent opened document history feature
Allow a sidebar menu link to allow opening a document from recent history across devices.
Useful when we don’t want to save it as a favourite but have opened in another device and want to pick up from where you left.

Typing columns
The ability to create your own columns on a blank sheet of paper so that you are able to use the entire page and not just the left/middle/right of the page.
Also the two and three column template is currently broken and will only let you write in one of the columns (as seen in the attached image)

Flashcard printing
most importantly, it should be possible to export the flashcards to a pdf for two reasons:
1. So it is possible to search for certain words (so you can see if you already have that flashcard)

Ruler which matches standard checkered paper of Goodnotes (not cm or inches)

I love the ruler which comes with the latest update.
I use the checkered sheet template in Din A4. Normally one box is 0.5cm long. The template from Goodnotes is a bit bigger. That's good, because I'm a teacher and so the students see a little better via the beamer, because just everything is a little bigger what I write. However, the ruler doesn't fit with it, of course. The students are used to 2 boxes being 1cm. But you offer your ruler only in cm and inch. Would it be possible to also add an option that fits…7 votes -
Possibility to make notes on the side
When opening any document, especially with PDFs but also with my own notes, it would be great to have the possibility to have a separate page on the side to take notes on WITHOUT activating Split View, so all important notes are directly next to the page. Like in the picture but with more space for notes. In the settings you could choose which kind of paper you want to write on and which side the notes should appear on.

Draw/type/images on flashcards
You should be able to insert images into flashcards AND draw on them. Or insert an image AND add text. Or all three! I don't understand why you have to choose only one at a time.

Math font color change
The math font feature is great, but changing the color of the font would be very helpful so the typing could be seen on different colored pages.
Right now the quickest option is to copy and paste the math into a text box and change it from there.7 votes -
