Add a pencil tool
Add a pencil tool that acts and looks like a real pencil (compatible with all the capabilities of the Apple Pencil).

I think a pencil tool is one of the only things keeping me going to apple notes instead of GoodNotes. All the pen tools in GoodNotes are too slick. It would be nice to have an alternate option. The pencil in apple notes is the easiest to write with. It also most closely resembles the real-life note taking experience.

Considering this was made in 2016 I guess we aren’t getting a graphite pencil. I will look for another note taking app.

Yes, me too I'm waiting for a "graphit"-pencil tool like in apples notes

Come on. We need more writing tools and graphite pencil is the starting point.

Why did I pay for this App when it doesnt even offer a single pencil like the free apple notes

Please add this it could really enhance our Goodnotes experience and I also think it would give a lot of new incentives for different use cases and people of various work backgrounds to switch to the app. Not only does it make writing on an iPad so much more paperlike but it'll also diversity the available customizability options and make traditional paper and pencil less sought after. This would definitely be a game changer.

Can we please, please get this added? I really love GoodNotes but, like many others, am struggling with the decision to stick with it because the graphite pencil in Apple Notes is just so much better looking/feeling than the pen tools in GoodNotes.

Yes that would make Goodnotes " draw-able" finally

I bought GoodNotes and used it for a long time, but recently I started using Apple Notes and the Pencil tool and now I don't want to come back to GoodNotes and cannot bring myself to recommend it without the pencil tool, it's too important for me. Kinda regret paying for GoodNotes.

so disappointed that goodnotes lacks a graphite pencil. existing options are ridiculously bad and unusable. I keep using Apple Notes only because of the graphite pencil. sad I paid for goodnotes

the appearance options of the available pen tools. The fact I have a greater texture variety available using just the standard notes tool doesn't really incentivize me to want to really do anything with goodnotes and it seems like it's fast falling behind other tools that are offering greater ability to customize the visual texture and simulated stationary. I really keep hoping each new update might see the release of a pencil.

Why do you ask for suggestions for pencil tool and do nothing?????

Graphite pencils and a ruler are the two missing features of GoodNotes.

As a lot of people have already said, it's crazy this hasn't already been implemented. I find the lack of a balanced and organic pen is the only reason haven't switched completely and still rely on Notes, even though this app has everything else I could possibly need. I truly hope this is added into Goodnotes 6 at least.

Can we please know why hasn’t this been added already? This suggestion was posted 5 years ago - Ask Siri!

I write notes and doodle and sketch ideas on one go, Apple Notes pencil brush is perfect for jotting down more expressive ideas, handwriting looks better, it feels better. I end up using a subpar free app just for its pencil brush - love Goodnotes but please PLEASE add something with a more organic feel, not everything is about clean lines, even if tilt feature isn't perfect, a basic pencil brush would make me switch completely to using one app for my notes instead of being the most creative elsewhere and then deciding if the pain of writing with lesser brushes is worth the extra features the app brings. Like the three options offered but all of them have issues and are not as fluid. If a decent pencil brush was added, I'd actually use Goodnotes for the first steps of my art, planning my animation, etc. It would actually have a place before I open Procreate.
