Links between two papers
Due to the existence of arxiv, many people, take me as an example, will download preprint versions of an article and after quite sometime, when the published version appeared, one should also include that into the database. Now we have one preprint with your notes or comments on it, and another published one with higher reliability, it seems necessary to pin these two(or more) together to make life easier. Or if there are better solutions, welcome to comment!

Categorization of Marked (Favorite) Pages
For me it would be Pretty helpful when there would be an Option To categorize the Pages i have marked as favourites.
In every Semester i have about 4 different courses and for each course an own folder with probably some sub folders and when there is a page I would like to mark for later I can only use the one favourite button but I would love to have an own collection of pages marked as favourites for every folder/ for every course.
So in the end I could have an collection of all the marked pages for one course. For me it would be Pretty helpful when there would be an Option To categorize the Pages i have marked as favourites.

Auto backup with custom outline intact
Right now, the auto backups to google drive strip the PDFs of their outline. But we need the outline in order to navigate large files.
The outline is one of the strengths of GoodNotes. Please allow auto backups with outline intact.

Palm Rejection Issues
When zoomed in trying to write, ocasionally the whole thing zooms out having to zoom in again. This is very frustrating, especially when doing things under time restriction such as exams or some kind of quiz. I have noticed that this happens when moving the palm when writing.

Organizing notebooks
In main menu, add "custom" order for notebooks and folders. Add this where it says "name", "date", and "type" on the top of the main menu so you can keep the books in an order you prefer.
Make folders more customizable, add option to change colors of folders or add designs or icons to folders, similar to notebooks so that it is easier to distinguish folders and find them with ease.
Add a "folders" section to display only folders on the righthand side of the main menu page where it displays "documents" and "favorites". It would also be helpful to add each folder to this option to select each folder with ease.
Add a dropdown for folders so you can view its documents without having to enter a second page with the folders documents. This way you can see everything from the main menu and it makes it easier and quicker to find and stay organized if you could expand/minimize the folder.
This could be done in a cascading style when in the list form with a little arrow.
In the block form you could have a folder open with an arrow revealing a sub section block. I believe this is called something like a collapsable mega menu for mobile devices.
You could also do a preview of the folder when you scroll over a folder, which would work on devices with a mouse, or you could use the "hard tap" function with pressure sensing devices.Add merge/combine/insert/move entire notebooks or documents from the main menu so you don't have to move them page by page.
Add a hyperlink option so you can insert and view a document page in another document. If you click on it you could also add a href to go directly to that notebook/document from where you are. This would be super useful when organizing a lot of information.
Make a ability to hyperlink sections directly to a page. This would come in handy when you have the calendar or notes and you could add like a sticky note icon or something that would direct you to the page it referenced on another page/tab. For example if you have "assignment" due on specific date and add a hyperlink icon it would take you to "assignment" you have referenced on another page.
When making idea boards of you could have the images, sections, or words have an ability to hyperlink so you can go directly to page from app.
When importing/pasting text add a "clear formatting" option to get rid of background color so it inserts nicely, currently you cannot even get rid of background text color.
Make it possible to editable text like a .docx or .doc, not just .pdf.
When importing a editable text, make it so you can edit the document itself without having to typeover it as though it is the background of the page. import the text itself.
Add a document section to make "word" type documents so it can be used for work and school to submit work without having to use multiple apps.
Make ability to import styles or presets from other people.
Make "shared" documents/notebooks/folders so you can collaborate with other people with the app.

Search for highlights / consolidated highlights
The apple books app has this great feature that shows all of your highlights in a given book under "notes." I would LOVE to see something similar on Goodnotes.
I color code my highlighting so if I could search for just orange highlights and then see all of my definitions (which I color code in orange) in one place and then jump to that page by tapping that would be amazing.

Lock screen zoom size
As we all know, it's very comfortable for everyone to write in a certain paper size ratio. But now, because the size ratio of the paper often changes, so I have to spend a long time to adjust the size of the paper. Maybe goodnotes can improve this point。(From machine translation, I'm sorry to disturb you)

Optical Character Recognition for All PDFs
I constantly am uploading PDFs to GoodNotes, but unless the PDF comes with OCR, then I cannot search the text within the PDF. Notability has this feature, and automatically makes all of the PDFs OCR compatible. If GoodNotes could add this feature that would be amazing, because as a student, I’m constantly uploading files and needing to search through them.

Make Text Box continues automatically to the next page
1) Make the text box to be limited to the paper's boundaries and continues the text automatically to the next page (similar to Microsoft Word) as soon as you hit the bottom of the paper
2) Make Indentation possible with bullet points and other symbols

iCloud sync still does not work, please make it user controllable
Yesterday evening I created a folder on my desktop and added 7 files to it (exams I was about to grade). It took over 22 hours for these 7 files to finally appear on the iPad. Both the desktop and the iPad were connected to the network all the time. That's waaaaaaay too long.

MacBook open in full screen
Every time I open GN in my MacBook, the app window is small. We should be able to open it in full size each time without having to adjust the size after each opening.

handwriting to text--as you write
Handwriting to text--as you write. I love GoodNotes. Total fan. It makes ADD me an organized guy. No easy feat. I like how easy it is to edit a notebook's thumbnails. I love the variety of line width--and the instant undo, which I need so often. But, but, but: Last night my wife showed me Jamboard on her iPad Pro--and I couldn't believe how cool it was that her handwriting got turned into text--as she wrote! So I tried this in GoodNotes. Yes . . . . you DO convert handwriting to text--in 13 easy steps. GoodNotes validates my purchase of my big iPad Pro. (and it's even on my iPhone!) In closing, here's a picky request: when I pull the lower-right corner of an image, the image expands top and bottom. Whoa. Then I have to go see what it just covered up the bottom of. If the TOP of an image STAYED THERE during a magnification (rather than disappearing upwards), one could work with one's pictures and photos more easily. Your fan, Terrill Shepard Soules terrillsoules@gmail.com

Landscape Music Template
When writing scores, it would be really useful to have staff paper in landscape orientation.

various ideas about tools
customization of the tools in the toolbar.
-To be able to place the tools in the order you want
- Within the tools as a marker, you can choose the intensity of the color (brightness)Be able to create annotation routines, for example that the program detects or you introduce some patterns so that when you select a certain color or marker it already acquires a certain thickness or (better option ->) recognition of certain symbols so that it automatically changes to a tool (previously defined) and to save us having to change manually (((for example I write a "-" and automatically put the pen with the green color))
be able to add custom shapes to the shapes tool, in such a way that you draw a shape that you want and save it, and when you draw that shape quickly the program will recognize it and replace it with the saved one (as with circles)
-Add the option of being able to use in the pens the color that uses the laser line or pointer
-When adding photos to be able to adjust the opacity
-Ability to create custom-sized templates (such as Photoshop when starting a new job asks you if you want standard stockings or customize the canvas
-Custom tables (without having to insert templates) that can make simple excel-style calculations, block schedules (blocks that remain fixed in the cell positions (not having to put them approximately))

search only handwriting or only text so that i can search for just handwriting in a document rather than both
I often annotate books for school and it would be nice if I could search only my handwriting and not the entire text of the book

Pull to Add Page (Duplicate and Change Page Template)
Adding a page in GoodNotes currently, you just pull at the end of a notebook as if you are navigating to a new page.
Imagine if pulling to add a new page had the option to duplicate the current page or changing the page template.
