Tips to make your suggestion visible and bring your idea to life:

  • Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
  • Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
  • Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.

  1. Hi goodnotes team,
I really want to subscribe to essential plan but finger gestures are basically non existent on web version. Please bring such basic features to the web version.

    Thank you

  2. I would like to request basic image editing tools in Text Files.
Currently, when pasting images, there is no way to modify them (for example, crop or adjust them) directly inside the document as it works on iOS.

Having the same functionality on Windows and Web would greatly improve the workflow.

  3. I would like to request the ability to export audio recordings on Windows.
Currently, it is possible to record audio in Goodnotes, but there is no way to export these recordings outside the app on these platforms.
This is a limitation, especially for students who rely on lecture recordings for studying and review.

  4. I would like to report an issue with spell check in Text Files.

Currently, spell check does not work reliably: words are often incorrectly highlighted, suggestions are missing or inconsistent, and, in some environments (e.g. Chrome), spell check and extensions do not work at all.
This makes it difficult to catch spelling mistakes while taking notes.
This issue may be related to the current WebView-based editor.

  5. Typing in Text Files on Windows is not responsive.

There is a delay when writing or deleting text, especially in longer notes, which makes it hard to keep up during lectures.

This likely comes from the current WebView-based editor.

It would help to improve performance, for example by optimizing rendering or reducing the load on large documents, so typing feels immediate even in long notes.

  8. Sometimes Goodnotes is very slow. When it comes to switch between notebooks or browsing he directories Goodnotes takes ~10s time to load or to display the new notebook. Could you make it faster?

When I open notebooks, I often see empty pages (whose content surely exist). I have to reopen them to see everything. Unfortunately, the empty pages are also in the PDF exports!

  9. It would be great if entire folders could be pinned to the tab bar.
This would allow quick access to frequently used collections of notebooks without having to open each document individually.

  11. Currently, PDF exports on Windows and Android are not vector-based. As shown in the attached image, small text becomes pixelated and difficult to read when zoomed in.

Since the iPad version already supports high-quality vector exports, could we please get this same functionality on Windows and Android? It would greatly improve the utility of the app.

  13. The UI is becoming somewhat cluttered, and in particular, various AI controls (which I don't and will never use) are becoming somewhat intrusive. It would be great to have an option to disable these to clear the UI up a little.

  14. When I launch Goodnotes for Windows, the window always opens in the default position.

Ideally, I would like it to start maximized on my secondary monitor. However, even if I move it there, maximize it, and then close the application, the next time I launch it, it still opens as a small window on my primary monitor.

Having to rearrange the window every time I start the app has become quite frustrating. As a result, I am currently using Goodnotes for Web installed through Vivaldi's PWA feature instead. However, I would prefer to use Goodnotes for Windows.

    To make that…

  15. I’ve been using Goodnotes across Android and Windows for a while, and I really appreciate how much the cross-platform experience has improved. I’d like to suggest a few features that I think would make the non-iOS versions feel even closer to the full Goodnotes experience:

    1. Lower pen latency and more responsive strokes
On Android tablets (especially Samsung and Lenovo), the pen feels noticeably slower than on iPad. Even a small improvement in real-time stroke rendering would make handwriting feel much more natural.

    2. Full offline notebook support
Right now, working offline can be inconsistent. It would be great if notebooks cached…

  16. Hello Goodnotes Team,

I’ve encountered an issue in the Android version of Goodnotes that affects writing usability. The top toolbar permanently overlaps the upper part of the page, making it impossible to write on the top line or in the uppermost area of the document.

In the iPad version, this is solved elegantly: the page automatically shifts downward whenever the toolbar is placed at the top, ensuring that no content is hidden and the full writing area remains accessible.

On Android, however, the page does not adjust its position, so the toolbar covers part of the canvas. This makes precise…

  18. When you delete multiple lines of text by holding the delete or backspace button, the text suddenly reappears, and the cursor bypasses all the text you "already" deleted.

  20. add infinite canvas outside pdf doc boundaries, (that is limitless note taking and comment excerption like in liquid text pro app). This would make it the definitive note taking app, for both research and personal study. This could be killer feature for paper analysis, together with proper latex support and import export option csv files for study set…
