  1. When I am trying to use the “study flash cards” function, it’s often too small to see, even when I write really large on them. No matter whether I see it on a tablet or laptop. I want a function so i can expand the study flash card window because it presents my flash cards so small and I can’t make it bigger to see it more easily.

  2. can we have the ability to adjust more highlighter settings, for example the ability to change the opacity of it and be able to make the general size of the highlighter smaller (similar to how the standard pens can be 0.3 rather than have 1.0 as the smallest option)

  3. It would be good to have some more versatile, mathematical or scientific paper templates. For example, a split page (similar to a Cornell note-taking), where one side is ruled and the other is graph paper. Perhaps, a graph section on the top half, and a ruled or blank section underneath where one could add notes or symbolic work. Also, paired with this suggestion is the echo to add math conversion tools, converting to a display equation with LaTeX. This is the only reason I may choose Notability over Good Notes to use to deliver class notes when teaching. Sadly, in…

  4. I would love to be able to lasso a bunch of text boxes and change the font on all to the same font. Ie Lasso all text boxes and change font to Arial.

  5. Flashcards are a great way to learn.
But when studying topics that are more complicated than vocabulary it would be very helpful to be able to write down the answer before checking if it was correct. (For example mathematical derivations). Writing the answer also helps with learning.

My idea is that the flashcard screen shows two flashcards: One with the question (like it already does) and one, that is blank. You can write down your answer in the blank flashcard using the Apple Pencil. When clicking the flashcard with the question it flips over and shows the correct answer, so…

  6. One of my favorite ways to use GoodNotes is to import documents and annotate them on the app. However, I think the experience would be a thousand times better if we could have the option to expand the margins because oftentimes the original pdf doesn't have enough space to write notes and/or insert images for reference.

  7. When the writing is too small or the pen thickness not thick enough, one can change the size of the writing separately of its thickness. Now it is only possible to select the whole area to make the ratio bigger or smaller, i.e. the whole word becomes bigger and thicker at the same time. It would be nice to be able to change size and thickness individually, e.g. bigger and same thickness or same size but thicker lines.

  8. When I use my Mac along with my iPad for Goodnotes, I will use my laptop to copy and paste longer text into my the notebook that I am working on. So if I copy and paste from a website, I always have to change the font and font size to what I want it to be.

I think there should be a button in the styling area that says "Convert to Default" or maybe even a pop up button after you paste something that says "Convert to Default" or "Convert to Default Font."

    This would be very convenient!

  9. Renently, notability can draw a curve line.

Need to improve pen tool to draw a curve line - also arrow line

As a math teacher and 5-year goodnote user, need to draw a cartesian coordinate plane, or quadratic&cubic&quartic function.

Please make four-dotted line -like vectornator or Illustrator- to draw that curve! Before I change to Notability!

  10. Allow text to be added directly to the paper rather than using text boxes. This will create a more seamless structure of handwriting and text like Notability. A text box that shifts around the screen has its uses, but as a primary text input method, it is a disappointing experience. Where lined paper is used, the lines should also adapt to the font size and text positioning in a similar way to notability. When pictures are added to the document, the text should wrap around it. Allow text styling, alignment and bullet features that are present in most text editors.…

  11. I'm left-handed, I cannot physically write on the left side of the screen like the whole left third is uncomfortable to write on as the edge of my iPad gets in the way. The inability to move the page around freely beyond frustrating - It doesn't let me move the left-hand side of the page to the middle of the screen so a lot of the time I have to write something on the right-hand side and use the lasso tool to move it to the left.

  12. Colour coding folders!! Maybe just a tab or something in the corner, but it’s so much easier to find a folder by colour than by skimming the names.

  13. To be able to position the Tool Bar AND the Undo button on the sides; the newest versions allow to position it on the bottom or top only. I think side placement is more helpful for Apple Pencil Version 1 users as I’m sure we quietly use the undo or eraser button quite a lot.

  14. I have been using Notability for my class notes for over a year and am just now starting to use Goodnotes 5 specifically for bullet journaling. There are a few features I love in Notability that I think would be great in Goodnotes:
    * Clickable bullet lists when typing in Text
    * Alignment guides to show when elements are aligned to each other at right, left, & center

And one other suggestion (not from Notability that I know of)... an optional line or dot grid that can be projected onto a page to help with alignment. Great if it can…

  15. I am using GoodNotes and drawing a table with multiple rows and columns to practice for a test. The last row’s change with each exercise. I use a unique pen color for those. It would be great if I could erase by pen color so I can erase the values with a quick swipe and not have to fix the cell borders each time or be more precise with each cell. Thanks!

  16. Pasting text which spans more than one page is very difficult to handle as the text which is beyond the bottom of the page, disappears.

So the only way to currently handle this is to :

    (a) measure how much text can fit into the page, then

    (b) somehow, 'cut' out the text at the bottom which does not fit within the page ( this is not easy to do ).

    (c) go to the next page and repeat the above process till all your text is pasted across multiple pages.

    A NIGHTMARE.

  18. It would be nice if the auto advance box could be placed towards the center right or right side of the zoom window. As a left handed person, it can be difficult and uncomfortable to write neatly given the fact that the iPad has height to it unlike paper. on a flat service. I’m having to resort to manually move the zoom window which disrupts my writing flow.
