Focus Mode
I love reading and studying on goodnotes but the only downside is while reading is immersive thanks to full screen. Writing introduces an unnecessary number of button clicks to start writing, and distracts from the material
If there was a Focus Mode, which was full screen and only allowed writing in one stroke type and erasing using the Apple Pencil. That would drastically improve my focus and ability to study.

A side bar to show the comments and way to extract highlights to markdown
As the community of goodnotes has many research focused students, adding some features like extracting highlights to markdown and a side bar to see all the comments would be really helpful to aid the reasearch efforts.
Some features suggestions that we really need in goodnotes to make it one stop solution
- highlights extraction (to txt, markdown etc)
- side bar to see all the comments

Please add scanner mode in the camera
When inserting a picture taken by camera at real time, I need the scanned version, rather than the original picture. This function is supported by OneNote a long time ago, and they call it "Blackboard" mode in the camera. I hope this can be added to GoodNotes as well. Thank you~

rotate and size input text/emojis with lasso

once items are lasso’d, add the ability to deselect the items that are accidentally selected as well

Highlight area
Highlight the area inside the drawn shape, just like the “fill color” option in the pen tool. However, the fill highlight color would be the same as the outline.

Quick scroll using side bar
I want to be able to use the scroll indicator on the right of the page to quickly scroll through the document, rather than using the galley feature.

Option to disable auto-center
Writing on the edges of the paper is difficult as the sheet auto centers. Please let me shift the page off-center.

Issue with pen and highlight color
I initially had a custom pen color palette with no problems. However, after I decided to delete my colors and replace them with newever colors, my palette always resets to the old custom palette I had. I constantly lose the new colors I create and this occurs for my highlighter colors too.

Automatically create flash cards
When taking notes, it would be helpful if there was a way to create flashcard desks automatically from a document. I envision is being something where we could select the text that we want, and then there would be an option within the menu to automatically turn that text into a flash card. It could also be something where we could take a screenshot like we normally can with the lasso tool and then have an option there to turn it into a flashcard and then have the ability to select what we want blocked out on the front of…

Ability to Transfer notes to a newer version of a document
Every time a new version of the same script (film/tv) comes out, I would love to be able to transfer my notes and additional pages to the new script.

BUG REPORT，Text Box Tool in Mac

automatically match page dimensions while adding new page
It is very annoying to have an original pdf where original dimensions are larger than the default A4 pages of goodnotes.
If I want to add a blank page to take supplementary notes, I have to struggle with that.

Suggestion how to save to local storage
I'm not sure where does Goodnotes automatically save when I turn off auto back up to cloud storage. Goodnotes doesn't have status to show is it now saving to the device. i.e. loading or syncing symbols that have rotating arrow and say file saved when finish saving.
More over, Goodnotes usually hangs (or crashes?). It hangs and auto show my iPad's home screen.
I suggest 2 ideas to improve how to save.

Support iOS/iPadOS native Low Data Mode
GoodNotes documents can get quite large over time. Synchronizing (and backing up) them on constantly uses ridicules amounts of data (sometimes up to 1GB in a single day).
Using GoodNotes in school, this poses a big problem, as we currently don't have working WiFi. Connecting my iPad to my iPhone's Personal Hotspot is always a story of force closing GoodNotes, connecting to the Hotspot, doing whatever, disconnecting and relaunching GoodNotes as I have a limited amount of high speed cellular data.To solve this, GoodNotes could support iOS native Low Data Mode, which users can set system wide on a…

Mathematical shapes
Use shape recognition to snap to mathematical shapes like summation ∑ or gradient or even Greek letters. To clarify, not to convert to text, but to keep as writing when writing equations by hand.

Shortcut for line size
I do a lot of math and when creating equations I like to make exponents, subs or even small corrections a different line width for them to stand out. It would be very helpful to be able to to use the pencil tap shortcut on Apple Pencil to change the line width and even the color instead of having to constantly reach up to the selection menu to switch back and forth.
