Backups at different time
As automatic backup or icloud sync copy directly of the modification into the backup, it could be useful to have a backup option to allow different backups in time. So that if an error is made (file deletion, bad document modifications), it can be possible ot restore from an old backup.
Ideally like timemachine for apple or more basically different backups with the delta of modification.

Restore backup from automatic backup
Presently it is not possible to restore directly from an automatic backup (oneway backup function to a distant drive different than icloud). You have to first download all the files and folder from the distant drive (ex google drive) then zip them and then send them via airdrop to the ipad and open it with Goodnotes.
And it’s even more difficult if you have selected the option to backup .goodnotes and .pdf files because you need to delete the .pdf files ...Please add a restore function simple to use

Guide lines
Lines to locate the different elements in the page. When you want to align two elements is really difficult because there aren’t any guides that assure you the correct position.
This feature would be optional, I mean, if you want, you could use it and if you didn’t want, you wouldn’t use.

Move and rotate paper freely for Left Handed writers.
I'm left-handed, I cannot physically write on the left side of the screen like the whole left third is uncomfortable to write on as the edge of my iPad gets in the way. The inability to move the page around freely beyond frustrating - It doesn't let me move the left-hand side of the page to the middle of the screen so a lot of the time I have to write something on the right-hand side and use the lasso tool to move it to the left.

Customized colours when using The Lazo/Lasso instrument to change the color of a handwritten note
There is often the need to change the colour of a handwritten note or a marker sign through the lasso/lazo instrument, but we can’t choose between our personally customized colours: instead there are only a few default ones, that never match the ones that we have been using for the rest of the document.

zoom window tool on mac
I would love to have the zoom window tool on the mac version of the application. I use the ipad version and the zoom window tool really helps me take notes but sometimes I need to use the mac for certain note taking situations in the classroom. This would greatly improve my ability to take notes in any circumstance. Thanks.

Organisation
I know that some people like the more simplistic aspect of a lighter weight organisation system, but I know many more users including myself who would love to have a comprehensive and neatly sewn-together file sorting system where we can visually class, group and reference our notes.
I much prefer the features and dynamic of GoodNotes, however, the organisation is a major dealbreaker for many as to why they pick Notability. I think many people will value such a feature greatly. Thanks! :)

WATERMARK
Allow us to make a custom watermark. For example i make legendary notes on my ipad and i send them to my classmates, but i want to add a watermark in app so they cant use it elsewhere. Right now i use some third party software where i have to put my pdf in and it gives me a pdf with watermark. With the built in watermark feature it will be very easy.

Ability to overlay a grid on top of a page (to write straight)
Being able to overlay a grid that we can toggle on and off and also move around the page would be helpful for writing straight on pdf documents.
At the moment, all we can do is add a new page with the grid template. But for writing in PDFs (a digital assignment where you handwrite answers to questions, for example), there’s no way to overlay a grid to aid in writing straight.
Procreate has a similar grid feature where you can toggle the grid on or off and you can draw on top of it.

shapetool
the shape tool needs to be improvised. following are my observation on shape tool limitations and features that require re inventing
1. the resize option actually make the diagram thicker.
2. the line do not perfectly align tangentially to other lines and circles
3. The shapes tools should also have a auto deselect option like eraser.else if someone misses to switch to pen erratic drawing occurs and one needs to undo.
4. the shapetool can occur some mathematical standard shapes like, ellipse, parabola, graph axes, sine and cosine graphs

Have the ability to see all your notes at the same time
Currently, you can only see notes by opening one folder at a time. How about the ability to see “ALL” items that are in every folder. If you take notes all day and you file these notes in separate folders throughout the day, there’s no way to see every note your wrote in the day without opening every folder. If you have an “ALL” option, you will see every note you’ve ever written - no matter what folder they exist in.

Shift document view off-center for handwriting
I do understand that it makes sense for the document to pop back into central view when dragging to the side, but when handwriting at the document’s edge, this becomes an annoyance.
How about a new action/feature where the documents still pop back into central view under normal circumstances, but when the user really drags the document far off to the side, the document stays there at the side of the screen. Now the user can handwrite comfortably, with his hand resting on the black part (background) of the screen, and the document on the other side of the screen.…

Scrolling option must be added to Goodnotes
Respected Sir/Maam,
I’ve been using Goodnotes 5 lately and I find it really useful, although there is something you could work on for easy accessibility across distant pages of a pdf file of lets say a medical textbook that has thousands of pages.You have provided a ‘Go To’ option but at times the exact page number is not known to us and this makes searching for that particular page quite cumbersome. It would be really helpful to us if you could allow an option that can allow us to fast flip across pages...quite the same as present in Adobe…

resize
Please make corner focused resizing to be an option for pictures and shapes. Resizing them to fit exactly in what I want is a nightmare because it is center focused, and the entire pic/shape changes.

Handwriting to text--as you write. I love GoodNotes. Total fan. It makes ADD me an organized guy. No easy feat. I like how easy it is to edit a notebook's thumbnails.
