Remove font size cap
With the new update the font size is capped at 100 which for larger documents is still too small. Please let us insert whatever size we want like before.

border shape
Hi, I used to make filled rectangles without borders in GoodNotes, but after the latest update I can’t find how to do it anymore. I’ve tried using Undo and even the eraser, but I still can’t remove the border line.

Toggle or change to Eraser in pen tools (7.0.6)
Choosing pen tools but it keeps going to eraser.
The mode that wrap annotations (pen, editing, writing) in one place including eraser is someone troubling me.
When used lasso tools then change to pen, it keeps getting to eraser before pen. When it wasn’t merge before, I can manually select pen then it’s pen.
Now when I select pen, it goes to eraser.I want it to be pen first when I choose the category.

Disable long press menu as a palm rejection option
When I’m writing with my apple pencil I’m constantly accidentally activating the paste, zoom, comment, link long press menu with my fingers, I never use this menu, so I think it would be helpful to be able to disable it in the palm rejection settings menu.

Video Note Playback
Allow users to record a section in their notes, such as drawing out a diagram and its process, and be able to video playback it. It would be super resourceful since you wouldn't only see the end product, but you'd be able to see the process of how you got there. It can reduce copying and pasting of notes to demonstrate the process.

Better Pencilsketching and Erasing workflow
I like to do STORYBOARD Thumbnail Sketches in Goodnotes!!
I really like the PENCIL tool!
But often times I sketch in one colour ( light blue or red)
and then CLEAN UP the drawing in dark grey or black..I would really like to:
- THEN ERASE THE LIGHT BLUE SKETCH underneath, only..
NOT my sketch above!!
Right now this is NOT possible, because we have an ERASE HIGHLIGHTER ONLY option , but the Highlighter is too BIG for sketching!!Soo It would be indeed very helpful to HAVE a "colour-pick eraser.."
That way we could sketch in ONE colour, then INK in another colour above and later erase ONLY the UNDER LYING DRAWING!! That would be a GAME-CHANGER, for SKETCHING! I need to go to 3 different apps now for this only!
AND MAYBE add the SAME OPTION for the LASSO TOOL!
THAT way I could later colour Pick ONLY the BLUE COLOUR and CHANGE it to let's say GREEN or DARK BLUE or GREY, WITHOUT AFFECTING my SKETCH in BLACK ABOVE!Thanks 👀👍🏻🙏🏻

Rubber in the main menu
If you use for example the new forms and switch to the rubber by tapping your Apple Pencil and then you open the Pencil Menu, the rubber is selected.
I would prefer the rubber as an independent tool like the powerpointer.3 votes -
Apple Pencil Integration
Goodnotes should add a native option that lets the Apple Pencil Pro double tap switch between specific tools like pen and shape with no menu steps, no delays, and no forced use of Apple’s default actions. The app should give users a simple tool toggle setting inside the Apple Pencil menu, where you pick two tools and the double tap flips between them. The app should also expose these tool switches as actions in the Shortcuts app so users can build custom automations. Adding this feature would make Goodnotes feel more fluid during fast sessions and would use the Apple Pencil Pro sensors in a practical way that saves time.
This idea came to mind because I use the pen tool and the shapes tool the most. On keyboards, you can type “w” to go to the pen tools and “S” for shapes. Goodnotes should make it possible - through the shortcuts app to have the double click jump to one of these tools (no matter what), or even better - toggle between the two. Not just with the last tool you used because it normal is the eraser or lasso tool. If it is available in the shortcuts app, then you can assign the long press or double tap to a shortcut that can be used in Goodnotes.

import audio recordings
I would love to see Goodnotes support importing audio files/voice memos directly into documents. This feature is becoming essential.
Many students now rely on shared class recordings when they can’t attend a lecture, but Goodnotes doesn’t allow us to add external audio to our notes. This makes it impossible to study and annotate while listening to the voice memo in the same workspace.
Being able to import voice recordings—just like we can import PDFs or images—would make Goodnotes dramatically more complete for students and professionals. It’s a small addition with a huge impact.2 votes -
more shapes or different shapes
In the new goodnotes 7 update the shape tool does not do sharp right angels and the draw and hold feature does not give perfect right angels so they should add this as a feature where your able to choose on a "natural shape" or a "precise shape" and when you try and draw a circle it does not give you an option on if you want it at an angle anymore this also goes for a trapezoid if you want a trapezoid and you use the shape tool or the hold feature it gives you a rectangle. So in order to fix this the rectangle you draw should come with those angles and a prefect trapezoid and then if you select it it becomes a prefect rectangle.

Video clips and more writing tools and drag and drop of specfic page to my mind map
Everything is good I mainly use Goodnotes for mind mapping my lectures the only hindrance I faced that I was not able to add video clips to my notes, and also when I import PDF of my lecture notes in good notes. I can’t just drag and drop pages from like a specific slide to directly into my Notes, which is like a another hindrance because I have to take screenshot again and again and then put it back in. Also, this one is not a criticism, but a suggestion that there could be more tools for writing. It would be great to have more tools like I used to use Freeform before to make my mind maps, but since I learned that Goodnotes have also a mind map feature, my features bought Goodnotes on my iPad and I am having a great time, but but fixing this issues would really make it the best in my opinion

Select and copy as a screenshot just like notability
I echo this like other users did before. Math can be very messy especially with lots of questions. When you have to screenshot a question, you need to do a full 4 actions sequence to get a pasteable screenshot. If we can have a select copy paste screenshot this would be a killer-feature !

Make a visible scrolling bar
it's really annoying to have to leave the pen to scroll with the mouse because the scrolling bar is invisible. WHY?! i want to scroll with the bar on the side without putting away the pen to grab the mouse and scroll with the wheel. yes the scroll bar reappears when i scroll, but it's useless because it disappears after 2 seconds and does not appear in any way other than wheel scrolling with the mouse. VERY ANNOYING! scrolling should be available in few ways (like Adobe Acrobat) but here for some reason you only can scroll with the wheel. again, WHY?!

Enhanced Text Formatting for Flashcard Learning Resources
Would it be possible to enable richer text formatting within the text fields of the flashcard learning resources?
Currently, the flashcards do not support advanced formatting options such as text colors, font variations, or styled layouts—features that are available in regular text documents within GoodNotes.Allowing users to customize text with colors, font styles, and structured formatting would greatly enhance clarity and memorization, especially for students who rely on visual organization in their study materials.

Apple Pencil or 3rd-Party Pencil
I am partially posting this to see if others are have this issue or if it is just me. I have two 3rd-party "Apple Pencil", one of which I only used once to verify it worked and maintain as a backup in case something happens with the other. The primary one I have used for over a year now with no issues. Since the most recent update at the beginning of October (toolbar was a horrible choice, side note), and more than half of my strokes misregister or do not register at all (best way I can explain it). I tried my other pencil assuming something was wrong with my primary one, and the issue still continues. I tried messing around with the pen settings and stabilization, nothing changed the issue. It is almost impossible to write a few words without this issue's continual occurrence. I used this app less than 24 hrs prior with no issues. I know my handwriting is bad, but it is not THIS bad. Is this happening with anyone else or just me?

Frustrating UI decisions and unaddressed bugs since Version 7
Text Selection Bug: This issue has persisted since Version 7. When I long-press to select text and then interact with another function, I cannot simply tap once to deselect/cancel the selection. I am forced to select a different character first before I can click to cancel. I expected this to be fixed after multiple updates, but it hasn't been addressed.
Pen & Lasso Tool Placement: Hundreds of users have pointed out the issue with the Pen tool not being accessible alongside the Lasso tool. Does the development team not realize these two are frequently used together? If you need to group tools to save space, please consider grouping rarely used items like Stickers, Sticky Notes, and the Laser pointer instead.
Straighten Text Feature: The feature that straightens handwriting keeps appearing and disappearing randomly. What is the plan for this? It is an incredibly useful feature, even if it is currently unstable/glitchy.
Menu Bar Position: When selecting text, the context menu appears randomly—sometimes above the text, sometimes below. This leads to accidental clicks constantly. I have reported this multiple times, but it is still not fixed.
Are you waiting for users to switch to a better competitor app? This is extremely frustrating

Full Color Palette Display in Highlighting
I love the new update but it has been less efficient because of the color palette for highlighters not in full display. Scrolling in switching colors has been a hassle while studying. In the next update, please bring back the full color palette display but do keep the floating function tool.
