I really enjoy using GoodNotes and I’m very happy with the app.
One feature I’d love to see is support for a smart pen made for GoodNotes, whether developed by your team or through a partnership.
Sometimes it’s easier to quickly write ideas on paper. If those handwritten notes could be transferred directly into GoodNotes while preserving the natural feel of handwriting, it would create a great bridge between analog and digital note-taking.

Hold and drag highlight

Copy Formatting / Paste Formatting
I am not asking to copy the text itself. I need the ability to copy only the formatting — font, size, color, weight, and other text properties — and apply it to another selected piece of text, just like Format Painter in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.
Having to manually reproduce the same font, size, color, and styling over and over again is incredibly frustrating and unnecessarily slows down the workflow. For an app centered around note-taking and document editing, the absence of such a fundamental editing feature is extremely disappointing.

Custom Page Names Instead of Only Page Numbers
I would love to have the option to assign custom names to individual pages, instead of displaying only page numbers.
Currently, pages can only be identified by their numbers, which makes it difficult to quickly find specific notes in larger notebooks. It would be much more convenient if users could give each page a custom title, such as “Meeting Notes”, “Chapter 3”, “Ideas”, or “To-Do”.
This feature would make navigation much faster and improve organization, especially for notebooks with many pages. It could work similarly to naming tabs or sections, while still…

Go back to how the app was two years ago PLEASE
JUST GO BACK TO THE OLDER VERSION. IT WAS MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN WHATEVER THIS IS PLEASE I BEG OF YOU. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOUR I PROMISE WE WILL ALL APPRECIATE IT MORE AND KEEP PAYING FOR THIS APP, IF YOU JUST GO BACK TO THE VERSION WE HAD TWO TO THREE YEARS AGO AND REMOVE THE AI FEATURE IT MAKES THE APP CRASH AND ITS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. ABSOLUTELY ZERO PEOPLE USE IT AND I KNOW THAT BECAUSE I GO UNI WHERE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS USE THIS APP AND NO ONE LIKES IT. OLD IS GOLD!!!!!!

New function to read full file name from Google Drive

Idea
Currently, there is only an option to clear notes on a single page, but it would be great to have a button that clears all handwritten notes across the entire document at once.

Toolbar Customization
Please let us have more control over how we want our toolbar to be organized.
I use Goodnotes to read and I prefer my toolbar to be minimal and I would like to have the erase button and sticker button to be within the edit document button rather than them being separate (forgot the correct term so I went with this instead).
Also, please let us remove the “Accessories” section especially if we do not find it useful. Just transfer it within the dropdown arrow (see screenshot attached).
I find the multiple locaton of each buttons to be extremely tiring…

Better Folder Organization
Allow users to have a customized order of their folders where they can place folders in a specific order instead of being limited to either types, name, how recently modified, etc. Folders and files would be able to be customized into a certain order that allows the user to have more customizability in what goes where in their file organization.

[Fountain Pen] Lock Nib Angle
When using the fountain pen with Apple Pencil rotation enabled, users must constantly re-adjust their grip to keep the nib horizontal. Locking rotation forces a fixed default angle that often looks unnatural for a fountain pen.
Please add the option to lock the nib at a user-defined angle, for example by letting the user set the angle with a slider so the pen hits the page the same way every time. See image for example. This would greatly improve writing flow, style and comfort.

Option to Remove All Handwritten Annotations from Every Page at Once
Please add a feature that allows users to remove all handwritten annotations from every page of a document at once, without having to erase them page by page.
This feature would be especially useful for students who annotate PDF textbooks, lecture notes, and study materials. Sometimes, we want to review the original document again without our previous handwritten notes, while keeping the original text, images, and page layout intact.
Ideally, users could choose between clearing handwritten annotations from the current page, selected pages, or the entire document, with a confirmation step to prevent accidental deletion.

Auto-Backup PDF: always include the imported PDF page background (and warn if it fails)
Problem:
When I back up documents built on imported PDF plans (A1 format), the Auto-Backup PDF sometimes contains only my handwriting, symbols and photos. The imported plan itself is missing. Other documents back up correctly, so there is no warning that anything is wrong. The .goodnotes backup of the same document is complete.Why it matters:
Not everyone can open .goodnotes files. Colleagues and customers need the finished PDF (plan + annotations). A backup PDF without the plan is useless, and the failure is silent.Suggestion:

View Notebooks by Creation Time, Like in a Calendar
I would like to be able to view my notebooks/files by creation time (or modified time), like in a calendar. I could open a calendar and see which files were created on a specific day. This is very helpful for those who study and need to review the material.

Option to Hide undo/redo button
While writing down reference details of the contents being written in the notes, the undo/redo button often comes above it in the top right/left. Hiding it while using the gestures for undo/redo is a better option in this case.

Expand Tool Bar for Text Docs to Improve Efficiency
I would appreciate the ability to expand and customize the Tool Bar within Text Docs. I use the different font and background colors quite frequently to help organize my Text Docs, but having to do multiple clicks and scrolls to select these features has made it feel less efficient.
The option to create "presets" for text would be amazing as I use the same headings, font colors, and background colors often. This would greatly reduce the number of clicks I have to do!

It would be nice to have clickable To Do style check boxes in the notebooks section of Goodnotes, not just the document side. It would make checking off to do list much easier.

Allow moving pages/notes directly into existing notebooks on macOS
Currently, on the macOS version of Goodnotes, the "Move to" feature only allows selecting folders ("Solo cartelle"). It is not possible to move or merge a generated page directly into an existing notebook from this view.
To add a page to a notebook, we currently have to move the file to the folder, open the target notebook, and manually import the page, which feels cumbersome compared to iPadOS.
Please enable the option to view and select existing notebooks/documents as destination targets in the "Move to" menu on macOS.1 vote
