Paperlike sound when using/writing with apple pencil
Hello,
Do you know while writing with Samsung pencil, it makes sound like writing on paper. I thought this feature might have to do apple updates, but recently, while using ‘Lake’ app, they added this feature that when you use brush, it will make sound like you are using it on paper. It gives overall such a nice feel.
I do not want to use paperlike because it deteriorate screen appearance but what I do love is the sound of writing on paper. Please please add this feature. If ‘Lake’ people can do it, you too can.
Thanks a lot.…28 votes -
Convert pictures to text
Since there already is a feature to convert handwritten text.
It would be very usefully if you could convert the text from pictures of handwritten notes or documents like textbooks to editable text.28 votes -
More saved pen colors
Now we only can save 3 pen colors and 3 pen thickness, but I would love to have more, something like 5, there is place tu put them, and we can have a setting of how many are showed, so who wants to have 3 can have 3 and who needs 5 can have them

Favorite fonts
The new font feature is amazing. But what would be an even better addition would be the ability to star (favorite) fonts so they always appear at the top of the list. It would also be nice if we were able to sort the favorites freely. There are so many fonts I don’t use but come installed on iPad anyway, would save us so much scrolling time!

Lag while writing with Apple Pencil 2
This is feedback and not a new idea: I seem to notice some lag while writing with the Apple Pencil on GoodNotes 5 (on an iPad Pro 11”). The lag is much lesser on GoodNotes 4 and the stock Notes app.
Amazing job on the new version, the app looks and feels great otherwise!28 votes -
Recognition: Handwriting recognition vice-versa inside the notes. Mathematical symbols / equations recognition.
The handwriting recognition works but is limited to sharing. I wish it had an option to convert it to text inside notes.
Mathematical symbols or equations recognition would also be great! :)

Add print margins. Include front/back and two-pages-per-sheet front/back print
The printed page has no margin for binding.
Please add margins. Best, mirror margins for front/back printPrinting, two GoodNotes pages fit well in one A-size or A4-size sheet.
Please include the option of margins for this, with front/back option
(4 GoodNotes pages in a front/back physical sheet)28 votes -
Lock page position and page zoom for entire notebook
I really like the ability to lock a page position and zoom when using Goodnotes as an electronic whiteboard for lecturing. However, a rather annoying trait is that the screen lock turns off every time the page advances.
It would be nice to have an option to "lock all pages".

Web clipper
It would be great to be able to clip web content from a browser (as in Notability). Often I want to copy an equation from Wikipedia and insert it into my notes, ideally with a reference.

Pop up note! Please please add this feature, if good notes had this feature it would be the absolute perfect app!
This is the only feature that makes Good Reader superior to Good Notes. The ability to have a pop up note allows you to write more things without cluttering up the page. If this was added there would be no need to use another app. Please please!

Add Markdown support
There is no note-taking app out there that supports both handwritten notes and typed notes. By adding the keyboard feature, Goodnotes has taken a first step towards becoming an all-rounder app. The only problem is that the keyboard feature can't compete with apps like Obsidian or Notion, as it is extremely time consuming to format the text. So far, it is only suitable for aesthetic reasons, but is not practically usable. By adding support for Markdown, Goodnotes would finally have the first hybrid all-rounder solution for notes.
I attached some examples of how it could look like implemented.

Ability to "flip" Image/sticker
Having the ability to vertically or horizontally flip a imported image or sticker. This would be so beneficial for architecture red lines!

Scribble option without being bound to a language
I can’t use the scribble option in swedish. If I want to write “Hej” it only writes “He” and so on. If adding a new language is not an option please let the scribble be non-restricted

Dotted Lines, Arrows, Invert PDF and Duplicate
These three things are much needed
Auto Detection of Arrows is very helpful in many cases
Dotted Lines/Dashed Lines are very necessary in Making Diagrams especially in mathematics and physics
Duplicate feels more easy than copy and pasting the thing, adding duplicate with copy will save time
Inverting PDF too seems necessary sometimesOnly because of these 4 functions I have to sometime switch to notability and it does not feel good cause I have paid for GoodNotes

add tags to notes
Putting notes in a folder is convenient, but it would also be very convenient to be able to sort or search based on user-defined tags. Apple notes or Gmail are good examples.

Multiple favourite / default font options
I have different font preferences for Title vs Body Text vs diagram labels. It would be good to save 3 or more favourite font settings, rather than just the one.

Smooth curved lines
Would be awesome to be able to draw curved lines with many curves (concave, convex). The feature should allow the user to draw the line roughly with the apple pencil and smooth out the curve to make it look good. This would be similar to the "free-form" feature in Microsoft Visio.
An example of such lines is shown in the attached PDF.
Thanks :)

Highlighting bound to text - Highlighter snaps to the text
This idea is taken from other existing apps like Documents for iOS. When using the highlighter with text the colored line snaps to text automatically, in this way you have not to worry about going outside the line.
See the GIF to understand what I mean or try the Documents app
I would maintain the awesome straight line highlighting feature of GoodNote but I would add a new button for this new one or maybe as an option of the actual highlighter.
Thanks a lot and if you like this feature vote it!
