Add Size Control to Text Documents
Please add actual font-size controls to Text Documents. Itโs ridiculous that in 2026 I can change text โstylesโ but I still canโt simply make normal body text larger.
I do not want to turn half my document into headings just to make the text readable. That is not a workaround โ itโs bad design.
This is also an accessibility issue. People with eye strain, visual fatigue, or simply different reading preferences should be able to choose a comfortable font size. The regular Text Tool already supports font sizing, so there is no good reason for Text Documents to be thisโฆ

Using my own font
It would be super ultra cool if I could upload my own font to Goodnotes. Some apps already do that such as Phonto. When I type in Goodnotes on my Mac, I enjoy using all my Saved fonts. But on my iPad Pro where I do 95% of my Goodnotes work when I look at the text, I inserted using Mac, the font changed..

Add Bottom Over-Scroll (Palm Rest Space)
Iโd like to suggest a small but highly practical feature that would greatly improve the writing experience: the ability to scroll past the bottom of a page.
The Issue: When writing at the very bottom of a document or slide, the page stops moving. This leaves no screen space to rest our hand, forcing it awkwardly off the edge of the iPad. Itโs uncomfortable and makes it difficult to maintain neat handwriting at the end of a page.
The Solution: Allow the page to be scrolled further up, past the bottom margin. This would create a blank, inactive space atโฆ

Spellcheck for Text Docs
Enable spellcheck in the Text Docs feature of Goodnotes. It would be useful to have the same spellcheck feature in the Text Docs feature as is seen in the Notebook function. As the Text Docs are used primarily for typing it would be good to have a spellcheck functionality.

Handwriting, Swedish and Polish
To add more handwriting languages!! I am a Swedish student that uses digital notetaking on a daily basis, and sure, English is close to our language, but รฅ, รค and รถ aren't in the English alphabet; it would greatly help to get Swedish in handwriting and into the app itself!
And since I've seen that zero have been done to get this done, and a lot of people still want languages such as Polish, Swedish, etc., and no updates, GoodNotes focuses too much on the aesthetic of the app instead of the functionality that it's supposed to give to students!โฆ1 vote -
Editable Text presets
It would be an amazing addition to be able to edit the textbox presets (i.e. Modern, Classical, Technical) to be what you want it to be. I find that I am switching between my default fonts and having to change everything again, just to write my text in a different way. This can be looped in to the idea for making presets for "body, heading, subheading" but this would be accessible to a notebook rather than only a document.

Only 1-100 for for typed text, I want to use cute fonts for labels but the text size is limited.

Link text shrinks when selected with Apple Pencil
When selecting a link with the Apple Pencil, it now shrinks the font (or in my case, an emoji). When resizing, it will return to its original size once you increase/decrease the size, but as soon as you deselect, it shrinks again. Started 2 updates ago.

Set default font type and size for typing in sticky notes
I really appreciate that you can set a default font type and size for text boxes. It's really helped me streamline my notes when needed. I also really love the sticky note feature, but it's quite time consuming to change the font type and size when typing on sticky notes.
It would be amazing if a future update would give you the option of setting a default font type and size for typing in sticky notes! Thanks!

Formatting updates broke note consistency
How about you stop changing the layout/form or how thing work. You make it impossible for me. Always changing how tu bullet points are laced out, the padding, saving the default text. Now half my notes are laced out differently and worse form the other half. Genuinely inconsiderate. Making so many unnecessary changes.

Capital Letters
When trying to write a word that starts with a capital letter it doesn't seem to recognize the difference between an uppercase and lowercase letter, autocorrecting the word to be entirely lowercase. (Example: writing "Learning" will autocorrect to "learning")
Please fix this!! I love this app, this is the only thing that truly frustrates me.

Text Doc Improvements
Love the new text doc feature, but it needs improvements.
Option to hyperlink to Text Docs. Right now it is greyed out when trying to link to them. Very inconvenient. It should have the option to link to the entire document and also Headings/ Subheadings within it.
Option to use drawing tools within the text doc.
More exporting features. Especially exporting as word document or actual text document. This is super important when trying to share editable writing with someone who doesn't use goodnotes.
WORD COUNT. Please, as a writer having a word count is super important. I would alsoโฆ

[Handwriting to text conversion] Use currently selected custom text style
Scribble-to-Text Consistency: When converting handwriting to text, it defaults to a generic style. It would be much more efficient if the converted text automatically applied the userโs currently selected custom text style.

[Text Box] Tap anywhere to start typing instead of triggering the entire text block
Text Tool Enhancements
Text Input Issues: Since upgrading to Goodnotes 6, typing has become frustrating. When clicking to type, the app often selects the entire PDF text block instead of placing a cursor. Please allow users to tap anywhere to start typing immediately without triggering existing text blocks. Currently, it's particularly difficult with a mouse or finger compared to the Apple Pencil.

Laser
Since the recent update, the laser got to make layers by each stroke. But itโs very inconvenient when I am writing letters, as the previous stroke shows up darker and the handwriting gets so messy.. please change it back so it can be used with one layer.
