Make Subsections for Colors
If you take notes for multiple subjects/classes but use different color systems for each, it may be a good idea to make custom groups for specific colors so that they don’t get lost in a mix of all the custom colors you’ve added to the color set

Filter & add more pages to Outline
A feature where you can filter Outline topics for example if I created an Outline and called it "Javascript Variables" and pages 2-6 are related to "Javascript Variables" I'd like to filter by that topic only.

Smart select
Other than just the lasso tool to select pieces of a Goodnotes document, I’d like to see a “smart select” option that would let you highlight written or typed text (like LiquidText can do for PDFs), so that you can move and edit the properties of the selected handwritten text. This would also help avoid erroneous selection of text and/or objects with the lasso tool and make the application more user-friendly.

Note Taking Mode
I would like the 'favorites' feature from Notability implemented along with the additional screen space that GoodNotes has when going into no-writing mode and taping the screen to make the bar go away.
Basically I want an ACTUALLY full-screen paper notetaking experience with a small, customizable, movable shortcuts bar that can fit up to 5-10 preselected pen/size/colors. Aka, a streamlined (Note Taking Mode).

Quick scrolling as in other pdf viewers.
I really miss the feature that many other pdf viewers (and browsers, eg safari) have, where one presses and holds the scrolling button to move it up/down to a desired page.

Different skins for goodnotes' blue menu bar when in drawing mode!
Please, the dark blue menu bar, while in drawing mode, is pretty distracting, and the number one reason I almost didn't stick to goodnotes..
At least make it dark grey or plain light white, or at least create a number of some new inter-changeable menu designs, that we could "buy" in the app, if not for free...Dark mode doesn't help here..2 votes -
sound of chalk writing on blackboard
Love the app. I use it to teach computer science and mathematics subjects to college students in online mode. For the math course, at present I start with an empty white background and write on it. I was wondering if it would be possible, using your app, to recreate the experience of teaching on a blackboard by simulating the sound that the chalk makes on the blackboard, so that when I write on a black background template (with white color pen), if I enabled this option, then the students will hear a sound whenever my apple pencil is writing on…

Add a regular pencil option like the one on the default Notes app
I love the pencil brush on the Apple Notes app. To me, it makes the writing experience closest to writing on paper. I find the Goodnotes pens/brushes OK but as they are totally opaque and non-texturized, it makes the writing experience remarkably more artificial. I of course like all the other functionalities, but to be honest, the amazing pencil brush almost makes me want to continue with the default notepad. Please, please, please make such a brush!

Look at power point - and add most of the features found with regard to
Layers/shapes/form background/PASSWORD PROTECTION.
I could go on, buy GN 5 is still quite awesome. Just add the password protection and be done with that silliness already!
Oh, and sync with iCal / add alarm features for the TO DO list please!

Request for spread display function
I am a user living in Japan.
There is a request. It is a function to display in a spread. This is not about spread views. I want to display two consecutive pages like a book in one app. It will be very convenient when reading one document on the horizontal screen of the iPad.
I am not good at explaining in English, so I attached an image file.Thank you for the great app. I will continue to use it.

I have type "afe" in the search box, it return me many result such as "after", "affair", "african"

reduce motion
The motion when switching to another file, change page, or other things is very annoyed. The motion improve the beautifullness of the app, but I use this app for work and study, I think the motion is useless, time consuming, and make the app slower.
I prefer instant change to another page and reduce all the motion
