  1. Pencil

    Graphite Pencil is a must, flow by moleskin has a great pencil it really enhances the note taking experience. If Goodnotes had this capability it would become my sole note taking app.

  2. Allow family sharing again please

    Since GoodNotes 6, family sharing via the Apple iOS app store is unfortunately no longer supported by GoodNotes.

    This is really frustrating because it means that we can no longer use the app as a family. That's why I would like to suggest that the developers reconsider supporting family sharing in GoodNotes 6 as well.

  3. Move the Undo and Redo buttons in Goodnotes 6 back to the top right corner as they were in Goodnotes 5.

    The "UNDO" and "REDO" buttons in Goodnotes 6 have moved from the top right corner in Goodnotes 5 to the top left corner. When using UNDO, it's often necessary to see up to which step I've undone. But after moving to the top left, not only does my right hand have to move a considerable distance, but my entire hand covers the screen, making it hard to see where I've undone to. I hope the UI design can be changed back to the top right corner.

  4. Adjust the speed of the audio recording

    I am incredibly happy that you have added the voice recording feature. I would be very pleased If you add another feature where we can adjust the speed of the audio recording. (such as 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x or 0.5x)

  5. Rectangular Lasso Tool

    Some free programs, like CollaNote have a rectangular lasso tool where you drag the top left point to the bottom right that is honestly faster in a lot of cases for very straightforward notes, instead of needing to draw a nearly fully closed circle.

  9. Folder Colors

    Provide GoodNotes users a way to customize the color of folders to keep all files from looking the same. Renaming the files is also a good way to keep them organized, but so many people associate certain colors with certain subjects. This would up the organization game so much!

  12. Toolbar customization

    There are some tools I dont use and interrupt my experience while using the app. It would be nice to be able to remove those tools, or even rearrange them!

  15. Use lasso tool to drag content to next page instead of having to copy/paste

    I love using the lasso tool to move my handwriting around on the page. I also use the vertical scrolling feature to write my notes, but when I want to move text from one page to the next within the lasso tool, I can’t just drag it on. I have to copy/paste to the next page then cut or erase the text from the previous page. It’s a small thing, but a change that would improve work flow.

  16. More color options in top menu bar (more than just 3)

    On OneNote I have 14 different colored pens and highlighters up top. GoodNotes is superior to one note in almost every way except this one. I color code my notes, so I am forced to used one note. If I were to try and color code using goodnotes, it would take me hours longer because there are so many extra clicks to get to the correct color of pen or highlighter. Having more color options up top and allowing both pens and highlighters in the menu bar like one note would be amazing.

  18. Different color options for the folders

    Currently all folders appear as blue. It would be great to organise folders with different colours (e.g biology- green and maths - red)

  19. More toolbar customisation

    It would be good to be able to customise the toolbar since I’m sure there are features that some of us don’t use and could use the space for something else.

    • Toggle which icons appear in the toolbar. Personally I never use and will probably never use the in-app camera and presentation mode. It would be great if there was an option to just turn those off.
    • Allow the option to have more colour and pen size presets. 3 isn’t enough!
    • When the zoom window toolbar finally returns, it would be great to have the same level of customisation.

  20. Perfect Shape Tool

    Good Notes 4's shape tool was significantly better than Good Notes 5's tool. On Good Notes 5 it is almost always imperfect. Can you please add an option in the shape tool that allows for a subset of perfect shapes, like circles, squares, rectangles, etc... Another suggestion is that you could make it so that when we draw a shape using the pen tool and hold it the shape automatically snaps to a perfect shape.     We’re happy to announce that the update 5.6.0 that we released today adds an improved shape recognition including the option to hold at the end of a line to make a perfect shape, shape selection, and curve drawing.
