Lack of interoperability for Flashcards / Study Sets
Goodnotes is an amazing tool for handwriting, but its Flashcard system feels isolated. Currently, compatibility with other apps is non-existent because the app only accepts and exports its own format.
I want to be able to share my materials with friends who use different platforms and vice versa. It would be a game-changer if Goodnotes allowed us to export/import sets in common formats (like those used by Anki). In a high-stakes environment like medical school, interoperability isn't just a 'plus'—it’s a necessity. Please stop the format lock-in and let us study collaboratively!2 votes -
Major bug in document scan tool. Pls fix it. More infos in description
That´s not an Idea it´s a bug still not fixed since new update. U can´t close the "Scan Document" feature if u don´t scan any foto. U have to restart the Program to even acces youre Documents

Docs - allow customizing highlight color
In a Text Docs when I use the color highlighter I cannot select the same colors as in a handwritten note or where I insert a text box. In text docs there is a very limited number of highlighters and the color cannot be customized.

Handwritten text inside tables
Currently tables can only be created inside documents; and in documents you cannot write handwritten text.
In the future, if tables will be available inside whiteboards and notes, would be useful to have handwritten text inside tables.
Of course a limit could be the cell. Once you began to write in a cell, the cell or the related column and row should expand accordingly to the size of the text or, once you finish to write the handwritten text, and the text is bigger compared to the cell, it should be hidden like what happens in ms excel.1 vote -
Snap to line/grid & Customized profile pic
Shape not snapping to grid is the only reason my friend is not switching to Goodnotes. He’s an engineer and it would be incredibly helpful. Also please allow us to customize our profile picture color at least. Right now, it’s a color that’s unlucky in my country, so I would really appreciate it.

Slack Integration
I'd like to see integrations made with Slack - the ability to assign/tag a person to a task. The ability to share a Goodnotes document with Slack which would allow Mac/Windows/Linux users to see those notes.

Write with Pencil over Text Document
I mainly use the new Text Doc template and type up the majority of my notes. I'd like an easy way to add handwriting to the text document.
Also, I've noticed that it is very hard to add a phone to a Text Doc template.

Project Management / To Do Management
Create a PM/To Do Management template that has the ability to create custom fields with dropdown lists.
For Example:
Auto Date Created
PM/To Do Name - Conduct Ongoing Training
Assigned To <Multi Picklist & Drop Down Options of names we created in settings) - It would also be great to be able to assign this to people in a MS Exchange Server or Slack Server (we use both)
Note: We need to identify training refresher topics.
Due Date: Optional field that can integrate back to MS Exchange Calendar, Outlook 365 calendar, Thunderbird calendar, and Google.
Status: Dropdown of predefined fields…

Live Collaboration Mac to Windows
I've had to move to OneNote (which I am not fond of) because I am the only one using a Mac. I wanted to create an Agenda where I could tag people to assign them to tasks. However, I was not able to get the sharing/collaboration to work because all the other team members are using Windows. I need to be able to share from Mac to Windows and Windows to Mac while allowing live collaboration where we can all make edits and share updates.

There is a vast disparity in how different Chinese people write. For those with poor handwriting, their original script might be legible to themselves but difficult for others to read or problematic to save for future reference. Therefore, I hope to see a real-time handwriting beautification feature. Some Chinese apps have already implemented this, and I hope your company can follow suit.

Bring back Command-"-"/Command-"+" for changing text size
Why did you remove this in favor of zooming. I want to be able to change the Paragraph Style (Heading 1, Heading 2... Body, Caption) using the keyboard. This is an important feature for taking notes using the keyboard, while not constantly tapping around on screen.

tape over photo
When I use the tape over photos in my notes, the photo always gets selected instead of the tape when I try to edit. Or when I'm using the tape as flash cards to cover information, I can never tap the tape properly because the photo is automatically selected first. I think when you choose to "lock photo", it should also mean that the photo isnt selected when u tap over it when people are trying to write or use tape or other tools over the photo.

Importing Audio
Option to add audiobook in goodnotes.
Goodnotes is an ultimate library for students like us. You can give us also option to add audiobook. And adding notes in timestamps of audio book will be nice also

Presantation mode splitscreen same document
If you want to open two pages of the same document using presentation mode (but only one page is to be projected), the new procedure is very cumbersome. I would like to see the old function returned: you open the page overview and simply drag the desired page to the other side of the screen. This would save time in class.

API
Please add a public API and developer resources so files can be automatically imported and organized into folders by class, week, and lecture. Better automation support would make Goodnotes much more powerful for students and developers building academic workflows.

Toolbar colour
Please add optional UI customization for the iPad app, especially toolbar color and contrast controls. I would like a cleaner, less harsh toolbar and the ability to adjust visual emphasis, button size, and layout so the app feels more usable without changing the core Goodnotes experience.

Add Solution & Tutoring Support for More Subjects
Currently, Goodnotes AI provides solution and tutoring support for math and engineering-related topics. I hope it can be expanded to include other subjects beyond math and engineering, so users can receive learning guidance and solution support in a wider range of subjects.

The pen settings panel takes up too much screen space.
When adjusting pen settings, it seems to occupy a large portion of the display. Also, I’m not sure why tools like fountain pen, ballpoint pen, and brush pen are separated from the pencil, since they all fall under pen types. It would be better to include the pencil within the pen category and simplify the UI—similar to Samsung Notes or other note-taking apps—by allowing users to select pen types within a single pen tool. Pen-related settings could be placed under an options icon to save space.
Additionally, the animations for pen options (such as flatness, pressure sensitivity, and tip sharpness)…

Eraser that rubs off pen(like writings) ON the tape
As an a level student, found tape feature very useful, but its very annoying when you right over the tape(I study by hiding key words in notes by using tape, and fill them by pen) and try to rub off the pen on the tape, there is no feature for that.
There is a feature for removing highlighters or tapes, but not specifically pen on the tape, hope it changes, as it makes studies less efficient.

Embellecer escritura
Se sabe que si deseas escribir con alguna tipografía para que la letra sea bonita sale un recuadro para escribir dentro y es incómodo. Deberían tener en configuración " embellecimiento de escritura " de forma automática como ocurre en freenotes.
