1. Option to take multiple photos

   Hi Goodnotes-Team,
   as an architect, I often use Goodnotes on the building site to take measurements on the spot. I have to take a relatively large number of photos for this. It would be extremely useful to be able to take several photos at the same time and not have to start the process again after each photo.

   Handwriting to text--as you write. I love GoodNotes. Total fan. It makes ADD me an organized guy. No easy feat. I like how easy it is to edit a notebook's thumbnails. I love the variety of line width--and the instant undo, which I need so often. But, but, but: Last night my wife showed me Jamboard on her iPad Pro--and I couldn't believe how cool it was that her handwriting got turned into text--as she wrote! So I tried this in GoodNotes. Yes . . . . you DO convert handwriting to text--in 13 easy steps. GoodNotes validates my purchase of my big iPad Pro. (and it's even on my iPhone!) In closing, here's a picky request: when I pull the lower-right corner of an image, the image expands top and bottom. Whoa. Then I have to go see what it just covered up the bottom of. If the TOP of an image STAYED THERE during a magnification (rather than disappearing upwards), one could work with one's pictures and photos more easily.    I'm a big user of goodnotes, I've been taking notes with him since 4 years ago, it's a very good software to use, as you know, apple recently released ipad air 6 (13inch), I bought him and upgraded goodnotes 6 on this new ipad.
   I realized that from my previous device using goodnotes 5 there was no heating condition.
   But after about 20 minutes of writing on top of the new ipad, my ipad has been heating up really bad.
   I had to stop and let the ipad cool down a bit before I could continue writing. I hope the techs can resolve this heating issue that may be due to compatibility!

4. Not an idea actually, but complaints and requests

   I am sure I'm not the only one who have asked for this in the past, but I will ask for it once again (not hoping for much though, since 2 years passed since I first asked for it -others too as I said- and nothing has been done).

   ADD NEW PENS! This is handwriting note taking app! Pens have been the same since GN4! Oh, don't tell me that the "brush pen" you added in the horrible GN5 is an addition! It does nothing! How about looking at other note taking apps to see the variety of pens they offer? I have been using GN4 for about 5 years so far (GN5 has a loooong way to go till it becomes barely good -I will complain about it below) and no progress has been done on this. Give your loyal customers pens! Give them variety! Going paperless needs more pens! We do so many things with GN and we have to still stick to only two pens???

   Now, let's go to complaints (gee, where to start from?)

   No, ladies and gentlemen, GN5 has NOT been an upgrade! You said "you started from scratch" to build GN5. Why??? What was so bad about GN4 that you had to dump it and start from scratch?

   So many months after its release, GN5 lacks basic things: writing is not at all as smooth as in GN4, it is actually worse (!!!), and in the zoom window the app does not have the necessary tools that GN4 had. Till the moment I'm writing all these (Nov 18, 2019), there must have been about 7 or 8 months since GN5 was released. Too much time has passed and the two things I mentioned a few lines above (not smooth writing and no tools in the zoom window) are still not where they're supposed to be. Especially smooth writing, one of the things I loved in GN4 from the start and still do while I'm using it, is absent in GN5. Are you even trying the app yourselves? Are you listening to us?

   It it the first time I am talking like this, but you people made me furious with GN5! I've been using various apps all these years in my iPads and never have I rated one of them with 1 star in the AppStore. Never, till GN5 got released. On the contrary, I gave GN4 four stars from the first time I downloaded and then bought it. Never regretted buying GN4 and still consider it one of the top note taking apps.

   I am a maths teacher and make too much use of my iPad and GN4. I have invested too much time working with them, but GN5 failed me big time! What good does it for me to have better app colors and folders and a laser point in GN5, if writing in GN5 is so bad and the app makes my life hard by not giving me in the zoom window what GN4 gave me from the start? Yes, I liked the new feature you added to the laser point, but it's not my No1 tool. GN5 lacks basic tools to make my life easy.

   Concluding:

   1. Add more pens! Add more pens! Add more pens!
   2. Make writing in GN5 as smooth as in GN4! Writing in GN5 with the Apple Pencil is way worse than in GN4! GN4 is still much better than GN5!
   3. Add the necessary tools in the zoom window! We write at the bottom and have to send our hand all the time to the top to erase, to change color, to undo! Is this an upgrade?
   4. Live up to the reputation you made with GN4! GN4 still kicks ass! GN5 not!

   Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my complaints and some basic requests.

   I am sure I'm not the only one who have asked for this in the past, but I will ask for it once again (not hoping for much though, since 2 years passed since I first asked for it -others too as I said- and nothing has been done).

5. Handwriting conversion line formatting in text

   When the lines of handwriting are converted to text, why do the lines not go all the way to the right of the Convert to Text box? The text jumps down to the next line before reaching the natural end of that line, so that when I copy and paste to Word, I have to go line-by-line and delete as if ‘return’ had been hit, bringing text back up to the previous line. For example, in the attachment (link conversion: https://support.goodnotes.com/attachments/token/G90PVVHrZHtH8siCOx6uxt8Se/?name=94D251A5-B4CA-44AC-A660-9FD99CAF8ADB.png), why does only the fourth line of text go all the way to the right hand side of the box but the other lines don’t?

9. Creating Templates

   Your support tools for creating new templates is poor at best. The link to the YouTube video is deleted. The most recent info is 2 yers old!?
   I just want the simple answer to create my key tasks at the top of the page and daily notes below without buying templates on 3rd party sites. You seem to support the 3rd party eco system over providing SIMPLE instructions for users to for their own.

10. 8-shaped selection for multi-page PDF export (Whiteboard & Notebooks)

    When exporting a large selected area as a PDF, handwriting often becomes pixelated or blurry.

    It would be helpful if users could draw an “8” shape with the selection tool to divide the selected area into multiple regions. The intersection of the “8” could act as a separator, allowing Goodnotes to automatically export the content as multiple PDF pages (two or more, depending on the gesture).

    This feature could work on both Whiteboard and Notebook pages, making it easier to export large handwritten notes while keeping the text quality high.

11. Jump between marks

    Often when reading scientific literature, one has to quickly jump between certain pages (eg text and appendix or literature). A great way to improve the workflow in this condition would be the option to quickly jump between marks, for example by including little arrows left and right of the mark button. One could mark the appendix site and afterwards, when reading through the text, mark the current side, jump with the right arrow to the appendix, and then jump back to the current side using the left arrow.

12. auto linking to have a turn off option

    i noticed that they implimented for goodnotes to create an auto link whenever you type “.com” at the end of anything which is very frustrating when i am not trying to attatch any links. i have to click the link to unlink it only for it to come back the second i continue typing. Can you create a feature in the settings where this feature can be turned off?

13. Suggestion: REMOVE tape on PDF exports!

    I love the tape feature, but it’s annoying that the PDF backups of my goodnotes files on google drive have tape on them. It’s useful if it’s in the app, but it’s not for backups. Goodnotes, please fix this! Give us an option to remove tape on backups and exports.

14. single tap to open a link

    Currently you have to long press a link, then choose open link from a menu. This is very time consuming, especially if you are using a daily planner template. yes, you can put the app into "view mode" then it will work in single tap. but that is also time consuming. Please give us the open to single tap in the edit mode. You may be saying "but a single tap will appear as though it's the user trying to write with the pen tool". Well, you could do a little gesture recognition and determine if it's a finger or a pen. If a finger, treat it as a "click" on the link. You can make this an option in settings as power users will want to tap on links with their fingers when using digital planner PDFs like the ones sold on on planners dot com

15. ‘Freeze’ main window when using zoom box

    When writing in the zoom box, it is often convenient to focus the main window at a site separate from the place one is writing. In GN4 the window stayed where it ‘was set’. In GN5, it slides to the place of writing. Please freeze the main window. (And return the other features of the GN4 zoom box, as others suggest :)). Thanks for a great App!

16. Accessibility Option - Invert

    Allow for inverting colors of a document opened in the app. Nothing fancy like iOS smart invert needed; just invert all colors in document ignoring menu and drawing/highlighter colors. My eyes are sensitive to light, but I need to use an iPad to be able to view my textbooks in large print and take notes; I literally use sunglasses while studying, cause I require the contrast so lowering brightness doesn't help. Smart invert also doesn't work, and regular iOS invert is annoying to turn on and off as I am switching back and forth between apps during long and short study sessions.

    With 8 years of undergrad study behind and 6 years of grad school ahead; I have and will continue to be a dedicated Goodnotes user; couldn't be this far without this wonderful app. I use it on both my iPad and on my mac using iCloud sync.

    This is a necessary feature that will literally save tons of headaches.

    Please implement this.

18. Support Sync.com for Document Storage

    iCloud is NOT end-to-end encrypted. Therefore storing sensitive data on iCloud is a bad idea.

    GoodNotes should support storing its document database on Sync.com. Sync.com is very similar to Dropbox. It's easy to use, has good Mac integration, as well as apps for iOS and iPadOS. And it's 100% PRIVATE, unlike Dropbox, iCloud, etc.

    Please support Sync.com. Many users want the kind of privacy that only end-to-end encrypted storage allows. I'd love to have access to the medical records, receipts, etc. that I keep as PDFs. But I will not import such information into GoodNotes until end-to-end encrypted storage is supported.

    Adding support for Sync.com would be the quickest and easiest way to accomplish this.

19. Longer document titles in Mac and iPadOS version & Zotero Integration

    Hello, I'm using GoodNotes to organize the pdfs for my grad school classes and wanted to make two feature requests:

    1. Please make the character length for document titles longer on Mac and iPadOS. When dealing with multiple documents from the same author in a single folder, it quickly becomes confusing because there is very little room to display the document name. I can understand this limitation on iPhone, but it should not be an issue on a Mac.

    1. Would an integration with Zotero (Mac app only, sadly) be possible? Ideally, I'd imagine a workflow where I can use an x-callback URL scheme for individual documents saved in GoodNotes so for example, if I look up my entry for "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in Zotero, the entry contains the x-callback URL that, when clicked, opens up the associated pdf within GoodNotes.

20. Imported covers support alpha transparency

    As someone who makes GoodNotes journal covers, I appreciate flexibility in being able to make covers that look like real books. Part of that includes rounded corners and things that protrude, like the clasp on a filofax planner. When I make these images as transparent PNGs, the background becomes white in GoodNotes. I've tried to alleviate this by adding a solid grey background, but this isn't good enough for a couple of reasons.
    1. The shade of grey is not consistent between the main menu (RGB 230 230 230) and the editor (RGB 193, 193, 193), so one file simply wont look good both ways
    2. If I upload the files for sale, I'd have to make multiple versions with transparent, lt grey and dk grey, to suit all possible scenarios. This takes longer to make, its a lot of files to ask someone to download, ect.

    In addition to this request, it would be good if the border that appears around notebook covers and pages, both in the main menu and the editor, could be enabled or disabled. This would also help non-perfect-rectangle notebook covers look more realistic.

    As someone who makes GoodNotes journal covers, I appreciate flexibility in being able to make covers that look like real books. Part of that includes rounded corners and things that protrude, like the clasp on a filofax planner. When I make these images as transparent PNGs, the background becomes white in GoodNotes. I've tried to alleviate this by adding a solid grey background, but this isn't good enough for a couple of reasons.
