   When using the Squeeze feature on Apple Pencil Pro, adding a feature that lets you “scroll” through your saved preset colors the same way we can scroll through the tools would be useful, instead of only having access to the first 3 colors.

2. Audio recordings improvement for new Update

   The new update is not user-friendly at all. The toolbar is difficult to use, and this is especially evident in the audio recording feature. When you start recording, a separate window appears outside the toolbar, taking up screen space and getting in the way. In the previous version, recording was indicated only by a small discreet icon in the toolbar, so writing wasn’t interrupted.
   In addition, when you play back the recording, every time you want to stop it and play it again, another unnecessary panel pops up on the left side of the screen, making the process time-consuming.

   Overall, I’m really disappointed with the new update—to the point that I’m considering switching apps, even though I’ve been using this one daily for two years.

3. AI Audio Overview from notes or PDF like notebook LM

   Notebook LM has a great feature where you can create an audio overview using AI that creates a podcast episode from the content. This is the only reason I use Notebook LM as well as goodnotes and I think this should be on Goodnotes' roadmap as party of becoming a leading AI notebook took.

6. Pin Notes & Folders for Quick Access

   I truly appreciate the powerful note-taking experience that GoodNotes offers. However, I would love to see a Pin Notes feature and a Quick Access Folder option to enhance workflow efficiency.

   Currently, navigating between different notes for ongoing study, work, or projects requires extra steps, which can be time-consuming. A pinned notes section would allow users to keep frequently used documents easily accessible.

7. "Destress" & Mindfulness Templates

   Since we already have our screens and pencils out for studying, what if GoodNotes added a default category of "Destress" notebook templates?

   Instead of just blank or lined paper, these would be templates designed specifically for taking a quick 5-minute mental break. As someone who loves art and sketching to unwind, I think having these built right into the app would be incredibly helpful for student mental health.

   Some ideas for the templates could be:

   • Pages with geometric patterns, overlapping circles, or simple designs to just colour in

   • Shapes to trace or simple drawing prompts to get your mind off of schoolwork

   • Different visual paper backgrounds that are just calming to look at

   • Guided journal layouts to get your thoughts out when you're stressed

   Let me know what you think, or if you have any other cool "destress" template ideas we could add to the list!

8. Auto-add date and folder name when creating new files

   It would be really helpful if, when creating a new notebook or whiteboard, GoodNotes could automatically include the current date (e.g. “September 1, 2025”) and optionally the name of the folder (e.g. “NameFolder – September 1, 2025”) in the file name.
   This would greatly improve file organization, especially for users who create many documents daily (like teachers) and want to keep everything tidy without having to rename files manually.

9. Enable Laser Pointer in Reading Mode

   Please give us the option of laser pointer in the reading mode. I don't want to edit my document, I want to

10. Fix the typing features ASAP

    The typing feature really needs some attention guys. Tell me why when I try to type a page of notes the whole thing glitches out and either won't save my stuff or doubles all the words I've written on top of each other. You also can't continue typing onto a new page like it suggests. This new update also lowkey made the feature worse because now you can't just click on a page to type and you also have to click back to the textbox icon every time you want to drop a box. Overall, the typing features are inefficient and just low quality compared to the rest of the app which is great.

11. 사진 이미지 모달(팝업) 기능

    사진을 올릴때 그냥 큰 이미지를 바로 올리는 것이 아닌, 모달(팝업) 형태로도 올릴 수 있게 해주세요.

    링크추가 기능을 사용할때 나오는 오브젝트 같은걸 클릭하면 등록한 이미지가 모달(팝업)의 형태로 나오도록 구현하고, 빈공간이나 x표시를 누르면 모달이 사라지도록 구현하면 좋을 것 같아요.

    그러면 많은 개념들을 정리할때 큰 이미지나 다양한 이미지를 하나의 페이지에 깔끔하게 정리할 수 있을 것 같아요.

12. less submenus

    Many functions you have placed in submenus could easily fit into their respective window headers, toolbars etc. - thereby becoming more obvious and faster/easier to access.
    examples:

    1) The filter for bookmarked pages in the page browser is now the single item in a submenu. Unnecessary - there is easily enough room for 4 tabs - even when viewed as sidebar and in portrait orientation. img_0387

    2) Select pages and sidebar/popup toggle hide behind a 3 dots menu in the page browser. Why? There is enough room there to show these directly. Esp. if you implement the toggle as one button that changes it‘s icon accordingly. img_0385

    3) The auto advance setting for the writing zoom window ist hidden 2 levels deep in the document settings. This setting is very situational (columns, tables, equations vs plain text) and has to be easily accessible - either directly in the zoom window toolbar or at the very least in the 3dots submenu that‘s already there and has only 2 entries! img_0386

    4) In the document browser the „select items“ button is again hidden in a submenu, and even worse in one that is meant for viewing and sorting options. This needs to become top lvl accessible.
    Also atm this menu bar scrolls out of view. It should stay on top/visible when scrolling down. It is absolutely aggravating to have to scroll all the way up to the top and then down again just to select documents that are further down. img_0388

    5) Also in the document bowser: the filtering to show „documents only“, „folders only“ , and „all“ is clearly a viewing option. I think we don’t need a second submenu for this in the same menu bar. Why not place this as an additional options group in the other viewing submenu (with the grid icon) and place this icon on the left instead. ( Where the viewing/filtering options for pages in the page browser of the document editor are situated as well) img_0388

    I love that you steadily move to icon based menus. For me as a daily user this is faster, easier to grasp at a glance and screen space saving. Thank you for reworking this whole ui und steadily improving still.

    I’m a frequent Goodnotes user on macOS and rely heavily on it to manage and review a large number of PDF documents.

    One feature I strongly miss is the macOS “Quick Look” preview functionality — where pressing the space bar instantly displays a full-size preview of a selected file without fully opening it. This allows for extremely fast navigation through document lists and makes it easy to quickly inspect content before deciding to open a file.

    In Goodnotes for Mac, the only available preview is the thumbnail view, which is helpful but too limited for efficiently scanning document contents when working with many files.

    It would be incredibly valuable to have a Quick Look–style preview mode within Goodnotes — ideally triggered by the space bar — allowing users to instantly view a larger, scrollable preview of the selected document without entering full view or editing mode.

14. writing along edges of page

    A feature should be added to be able to scroll past the edge of a page when zoomed in. Right now since the page snaps to the sides of my ipad, i find that when im writing bullet points or words right on the edge the writing isnt interpreted and i end up have half letters or no writing at all on the sides.

15. Number notebooks automatically/ Index

    The option to add page numbers to the notebook in a selected font/size and to also add an Index/ Table of Contents that shows up within the document. Similar to how it is in word or other word processing Programs, just a bit simplified.

    Basically the option to add the "outline" as a "table of contents page" within the note book and to show numbers on each page correspondingly.

16. [Integration] Numbers, MS Excel

    I think it would be an excellent feature to have a seamless integration of numbers or excel with Goodnotes. Basically the idea would be to connect a spreadsheet with your notes in order to be able to insert Numbers' or Excel's tables and plots that can be dynamically updated every time you modify the spreadsheet.

18. More Whiteboard Characters!

    I'm always running out of characters in my whiteboard. I love the infinity page for studying for big concepts or exams but I hit the character limit every time I study. Please please allow for more writing so that the warning stops getting in the way. Please make the infinity board actually infinite - It would be life changing. Sincerely, a chemistry student.

19. text document

    I love the idea of the text document, it creates a notetaking ability that is similar to one note. However, I would love for there to be more customization (font, spacing, drawing, etc) within this feature. ALSO I would love to be able to create class notebooks in which they are text document format but there is a separate menu within the notebook for each page. This was I can separate my notebooks by unit!

20. Rendering quality significantly worse since version 7 – serious issue for classroom use

    I have been using Goodnotes for several years as my main teaching tool. I regularly project my iPad screen for several hours in class and work live on the material. With Goodnotes 6 this worked reliably. The page was consistently sharp, even while editing.

    Since version 7.0.0 this has clearly changed. I am currently on version 7.0.46 and the issue is still there.

    What I observe is the following. Images that are not selected become visibly blurry. As soon as I select an image, it immediately turns sharp again. Text behaves in the opposite way. While I am typing in a text box, the text becomes blurry. As soon as I leave the text box, it is sharp again. This happens all the time during normal work, not just in edge cases.

    The problem is independent of presentation mode. It also occurs when I am not projecting at all. However, it becomes a real issue in class, because students are looking at the screen continuously and notice the unstable image quality.

    There is also a clear time effect. Right after restarting the iPad, everything looks much better. But over the course of a few hours of teaching, with frequent page changes, zooming and interaction, the blur becomes more and more pronounced. Closing and reopening Goodnotes does not fix this.

    For comparison, I tested other note-taking apps such as Noteshelf, ZoomNotes, Noteful and Prodrafts. None of them show this behavior. They keep the page sharp even while editing.

    From a teaching perspective this is a serious problem. The visual quality of the content should not depend on whether I am currently interacting with an object. At the moment it is practically impossible to work with text boxes or images during a lesson without degrading what students see. This did not happen in Goodnotes 6.

    To me this looks like aggressive downsampling in the rendering process, where non-active content is kept in a lower resolution and only the active element is rendered sharply. That may make sense for performance, but it breaks the use case of Goodnotes as a presentation tool.

    What is missing is a way to prioritize visual stability over performance. For teaching, it would be important to have an option that keeps the entire page consistently sharp, even if that uses more resources.

    In its current state, this change compared to version 6 significantly limits the usefulness of Goodnotes in the classroom.
