Shape editing was better in Goodnotes 6
I regularly use the shape to draw curved lines and then edit their shape to create larger, more complex shapes. Currently, that‘s next to impossible:
- Editing points don‘t scale with zooming; especially when editing small lines, the points now cover up the lines entirely.
- These lines are often glitched out and turn invisible while editing, especially when multiple lines are connected together.
- After editing a line, Goodnotes automatically selects the lasso tool instead of the pen, making the drawing process very tedious.None of these issues occured with Goodnotes 6, I hope these issues are fixed with…

Organisation Tab
I really like the Idea of a coloration Tab or planning tab. So that I can give myself tasks with deadlines, have a calender for exams etc.
If I then could invite people to join my project where I can assign tasks like in other Apps (see notion, microsoft teams or asana).
All in all I want a feature where I cannot only work but plan and get reminded for my work without using a second app.1 vote -
Menu redesign
Right now it feels the navigation part is taking too much space vertically. I would consider remove the top-most dark blue part of the navigation panel, as for the functions there, they can be moved to the tool row (pencil, eraser, color etc). This may make the tool row a bit crowded, but one can always add a scrolling to fit all the tools we have right now.

pen & highlighter straight line changing point
In the newer versions, the blue changing points for drawing straight lines are very big. If you zoom in, it becomes impossible to be exact.

Automatically Remove Deleted GoodNotes Files from Cloud Backup
When using cloud backup (e.g., Google Drive) in GoodNotes, it would be very helpful if deleting files or folders within GoodNotes also synchronized the deletion in the cloud drive.
Currently, even after files are deleted in GoodNotes, residual files remain in Google Drive, requiring users to manually delete them separately. This creates unnecessary inconvenience and extra management work.
Please consider adding two-way deletion synchronization between GoodNotes and cloud backup services.

Real-time handwriting beautification (Apple Pencil)
I’d love a feature that automatically refines handwriting to a font or refining my actual handwriting in real time while writing, similar to Freenotes.
I would like to:
- Smooth and standardize strokes live
- Keep the user’s handwriting style OR apply a font
- Improve legibility and aesthetics instantly
Use case:
- Annotating PDFs where neatness matters
- Taking notes that look polished without rewriting
- Digital planning
Why it matters:
Currently, GoodNotes requires manual conversion or editing. A real-time system would:- Save time

Lasso actions customization
Add an option to customize the lasso select menu after something is selected to be more like goodnotes 5. one thing I do all the time is lasso and then 'copy' but now I have to click an extra button to get to the 'copy' button. it was better on goodnotes 5.

More Keyboard Shortcuts
Please add more to the keyboard shortcut list! I work with a macro pad right now and it is super useful to be able to switch between the tools. But it would be a huge improvement to able to toggle between the colors, and sizes. Even better make the keyboard shortcuts customizable. Continuing to work on the keyboard shortcuts in any capacity would make a large improvement to my work flow.

When taking notes or writing in a document, there’s often not enough space on the page. In such cases, adding a “page expansion” feature that allows users to extend the writing area within the same page would provide greater flexibility and continuity. This would be particularly useful for users who prefer to keep related content on a single page rather than having it scattered across multiple pages. Add a Pin Navigation Feature in Infinite Canvas Mode.
I would like to suggest adding a “Pin” feature to Infinite Canvas mode. As notes expand across a large canvas, it becomes increasingly difficult to relocate specific sections without repeatedly zooming and dragging around. This is especially frustrating when trying to find important content written earlier.
A Pin feature would allow users to mark specific locations on the canvas and quickly navigate back to them. Ideally, users could place pins anywhere, assign optional names (e.g., “Key Concept” or “Meeting Summary”), and access a panel listing all pins for one-click navigation.

Enable Text Highlighting with Mouse on iPadOS
Dear Goodnotes Team,
I’d like to share some feedback regarding the use of a mouse in the iPadOS version of Goodnotes.
Currently, when using the app on a MacBook, it’s possible to highlight text with a mouse. However, on the iPad, this functionality is not available. If you’re using an iPad with a mouse and keyboard setup, you have to physically move the iPad closer, pick up the Apple Pencil, and only then can you highlight text.
This makes the experience less seamless, especially for users who prefer a desktop-like setup with their iPad.

more tape toggle
Add an option for the tape feature to toggle all on or all off, in addition to the remove all feature. I don't want to go through my entire document to open them all or close them all. One button is better.

Bigger writing for whiteboard
I would like to be able to make the writing size bigger for features like the whiteboard since I personally like to have a lot of size difference in my mindmaps and it would really help out. I‘d suggest to have the 3 different sizes like before but also add an option to create your own size with a pen that you can resize by pixelwidth, so everyone is happe :)

[Lock Objects] Add Lock Icon to the Primary Object Menu
Please include a lock function/icon in the primary image click hover menu.
And/or even more functionality to be able to “pin” tools nested in the ellipsis (overflow menu) to this primary hover menu permanently as specified by user.
This would save several inputs in order to lock elements, similar to how (once locked) the hover menu populates with a rapid unlock image icon.

Share Study Sets / Flashcard to other users (not just the simple text based ones)
Study sets of all formats (i.e including image based and handwritten sets) should be able to be shared (/exportable) to other users and apps
Especially to other Goodnote users as I'm unable to share some sets to classmates and we're both Goodnote premium users (us sharing an iCloud isn't a reasonable option)

Protractor tool
The ruler angle measuring is not very user friendly for students. It would be great to add an actual protractor tool. On the same note, there should be a tool that allows you to draw a circle with its visible and radius measurement available.
I’ve made an image of a protractor into a sticker element which I then save on student’s divices individually.

European math notations
The math features are awesome, saving some time not needing to use the manual calculator. However, in Europe we use comma instead of points for decimals and the math tools sometimes struggles with that and interprets decimal numbers as vectors or coordinates. Please add support for European math notations.
