Notebook Synchronization
Integrating a synchronization button within the three dots menu of a notebook would help synchronize it when working on it from a laptop or iPad, as there is a synchronization delay between the two devices. This would allow the user to avoid going back to the main menu to synchronize the notebook and then return to their work.

Add option to hide/disable the contextual menu when selecting text
It blocks the view while writing and can’t be moved or dismissed

deactivate double-tap undo
I'd like to disable the double-tap undo feature, since I don't use it, but it's sometimes triggered accidentally.

Student scrolling bar
As a teacher, when I mark students' work, it is easy for me to touch the student scrolling bar at the bottom accidentally and move to the work of other students. It is quite annoying.
It is suggested to move the student scrolling bar to the top or to the left. Or let the user choose the position of the student scrolling bar.
This simple change will help me a lot. Thanks.1 vote -
Audio
A dedicated tab where all audio recordings from different files can be viewed in one place. This would make it more efficient, especially when freeing up storage space, since users can easily see and delete recordings without having to open each file individually to check for audio content. Additional tab like the ones below.

Audio
Would be nice if we are able to access all recordings from different files in one tab. It would be more convenient to be able to access all recordings, from different files, in one single tab. When freeing up space, it is such a hassle opening files one by one to check if there’s a recording. A tab where all recordings can be seen makes deleting the audios quicker.

Select All after Searching
Why is managing files in Goodnotes so painful? I want to select all intended files (and then export them) after searching but I can't just do it.
This should be a basic feature; it's not natural not to think about this1 vote -
Line straightener
Before the last update when holding the pen to do a straight line it would be aligned to the starting point, making it easy to place where intended. Now the line is drawn in the middle between the start point and the end point, making it inconvenient to place since, expecially when drawing long lines, it's difficult to end on the same height. It's frustrating because trying to adapt I more often end up drawing curves or have to move the line with the select tool.
So please bring back the old system

Lasso-select content in Goodnotes and instantly turn it into an Anki flashcard.
I propose developing a tool that allows users to lasso-select content directly in Goodnotes and instantly convert it into editable Anki flashcards. This workflow streamlines note reviewing for medical and other students by removing tedious copy-paste steps and adding smart options for automated question creation or image occlusion—all without leaving your Goodnotes workspace.
Key Features:
Lasso-select content in Goodnotes (text, sketches, images)
Instantly export selected content as an Anki flashcard
Choose flashcard type: basic, image occlusion, or custom
Option to auto-generate questions using AI
Manual question entry supported
Automatic deck creation based on lecture/file metadata
Simple workflow, no need for…

Infinite canvas is not searchable
The infinite canvas currently does not export as a searchable pdf file. When we export the file, it works like a picture which gets pixelated when we zoom
So it would help a lot if we could search handwriting and text within the infinite canvas5 votes -
Auto-Scroll-Funktion
Sehr geehrtes GoodNotes-Team,

Writing Tools in Main Toolbar
Thank you for improving the toolbar customisation with your latest updates to version 7.0.15.
However, it would be very helpful, if it would be possible to have the writing tools also integrated in the main toolbar. I use the laser, the fountain pen, the highlighter and the eraser for presenting slides in my lectures. I have to switch very often between the writing tool and the laser during the lecture and with the current setup, there is always an extra click, when I want to switch between the laser and a writing tool, since I have to open first the…4 votes -

Currently, GoodNotes requires a two-finger double-tap to undo. Apps like Procreate use a single two-finger tap, which is the gesture most stylus users are already muscle-memorized to. Coming from Procreate, I instinctively single-tap to undo and it never registers, breaking my writing flow constantly.
The fix is simple: add an option in Settings to choose between single-tap and double-tap for the two-finger undo gesture. Users who prefer double-tap keep their behavior; users coming from Procreate or other apps can switch to single-tap.
This is a low-lift change with high impact for anyone who uses multiple creative apps on iPad.I…

I'd like Goodnotes to expand its support to all Android smartphones, even if it's only for previews.
This is my first request, and since this is a machine translation, the English might be unnatural. Anyway, I would like Goodnotes to be supported on all Android smartphones, even if it's just for previews. While the iPad is convenient for almost all Goodnotes use cases, it's honestly not suitable for quick, casual viewing. Therefore, even if it's only for document previews, I would like Goodnotes to be compatible with all Android smartphones.

scan text from images and books for goodnotes AI
I import a lot of older books and text images from classes, but in order to use goodnotes AI, the words in the imported PDF need to be actual text.
MacOS does it well in preview, but I can't export it as embedded text from the image scan, so I'll have to resort to janky online tools that take forever to read the images then ultimately import it again to goodnotes.
I've seen some occassional messages from the AI sidebar asking if it can read it, but it never does and the message is sporatic anyway. How can goodnotes read…

Rotate draw and hold/more nuanced lasso tool
Hi GoodNotes team,
I use GoodNotes heavily for planning and note-taking, and I’ve noticed a frustrating inconsistency with shapes.
When I draw an oval using the Pen tool with “draw & hold” (auto-shape), it sometimes snaps into place at an angle. However, when I select it, there’s no rotate handle or rotate option—so I can’t straighten it without deleting and redrawing.
In contrast, an oval created with the Shape tool does include a rotate handle. This results in two shapes that look identical but behave very differently, which can be confusing during fast daily use.

Reporting issues regarding the update of floating toolbar
Dear GoodNotes Team,
As someone who has been using GoodNotes for nearly three years, I was quite surprised by the recent update. Since writing is very important to me and GoodNotes has been one of the best tools I have ever had, I wanted to share some feedback right away:
…1. Thank you for finally adding the floating toolbar option. However, the current design has some issues. For example, since the toolbar now sits lower on the page, it reduces the available workspace and sometimes overlaps with the text, which is not ideal. 2. The new toolbar design limits access5 votes
