1. Video clips and more writing tools and drag and drop of specfic page to my mind map

   Everything is good I mainly use Goodnotes for mind mapping my lectures the only hindrance I faced that I was not able to add video clips to my notes, and also when I import PDF of my lecture notes in good notes. I can’t just drag and drop pages from like a specific slide to directly into my Notes, which is like a another hindrance because I have to take screenshot again and again and then put it back in. Also, this one is not a criticism, but a suggestion that there could be more tools for writing. It would be great to have more tools like I used to use Freeform before to make my mind maps, but since I learned that Goodnotes have also a mind map feature, my features bought Goodnotes on my iPad and I am having a great time, but but fixing this issues would really make it the best in my opinion

3. iOS Shortcuts Support for Opening Multiple Files in Split View

   Add the ability for the Shortcuts app on iPadOS to open multiple selected documents simultaneously in Split View.

   This feature would allow users to choose specific files and define them as a paired workspace within a Shortcut. When the Shortcut is run, the selected documents would automatically open side-by-side in Split View, eliminating the need to manually open and Split View for each file.

4. Make a visible scrolling bar

   it's really annoying to have to leave the pen to scroll with the mouse because the scrolling bar is invisible. WHY?! i want to scroll with the bar on the side without putting away the pen to grab the mouse and scroll with the wheel. yes the scroll bar reappears when i scroll, but it's useless because it disappears after 2 seconds and does not appear in any way other than wheel scrolling with the mouse. VERY ANNOYING! scrolling should be available in few ways (like Adobe Acrobat) but here for some reason you only can scroll with the wheel. again, WHY?!

5. Added page will be in the same rotation orientation of the previous one

   Because many teachers speak quickly, the best way to take notes in class is to upload the PDF slides and annotate them directly. Most of the time, these slides are in landscape orientation (wider than they are tall). However, when you want to write your own summaries or do homework, it's much more convenient to use portrait orientation (taller than they are wide).
   Currently, every time I add a new page after the slides, I have to manually rotate it, which is very annoying. It would be so much quicker if I only had to rotate the first added page, and then every subsequent page automatically followed that same orientation."

7. Add visible pen movement/position (Cursor/Trail/Virtual Pen) for better student orientation

   I recently started using Goodnotes in my classroom as a replacement for worksheets under a document camera. While Goodnotes works very well overall, I noticed a critical limitation for classroom use:
   When using a document camera, students can see my hand and the pen. This provides natural orientation: they immediately recognize when I start writing, where I am on the page, and when they should follow along.
   In Goodnotes, this orientation is missing. Students often do not immediately realize that writing has started.
   Students cannot clearly see where on the page I am currently writing or drawing. This is especially problematic when plotting points in a coordinate system. I often have to explain where I just placed a point or switch to a laser pointer to show it. This takes time and interrupts the lesson flow.
   It would be much more intuitive if students could simply see the pen itself—just like with a document camera—so they immediately know where the teacher is writing or pointing.
   Many of my colleagues experience the same issue and consider it a clear disadvantage compared to a document camera.
   As a result:
   students lose orientation on the page
   attention decreases
   reactions are slower
   the writing and drawing process is less intuitive to follow
   I would highly appreciate a feature that improves visual orientation for students, for example:
   a visible pen movement (cursor or trail), or
   a virtual pen tip displayed while writing
   Ideally, the virtual pen could also match the currently selected ink color, so students can already see which color will be used before writing begins.
   This would make Goodnotes much more effective for teaching and classroom use, bringing it closer to the advantages of a document camera, where students can clearly follow the writing process.

   오랜시간동안 아이폰과 아이패드를 사용하면서 굿노트를 사용해 왔는데 최근 업무로 인해 안드로이드 스마트 폰을 구매 했습니다.

   굿노트를 안드로이드와 아이패드에서 동기화 해 사용하고 싶어 pro 버전 구독도 했지만 goodnotes cloud 사용이 불가능해 연동이 안됩니다.

   초대 링크도 받지 못해 사용할 수 없는데 대단히 불편합니다. 가능하다면 goodnotes cloud 링크를 보내주시거나 빨리 기능을 업데이트해 사용할 수 있게 된다면 좋겠습니다.

   I have been using GoodNotes on my iPhone and iPad for a long time. Recently, due to work, I purchased an Android smartphone.

   I subscribed to the Pro version because I wanted to use GoodNotes on both my Android device and iPad with synchronization. However, GoodNotes Cloud is not available on my account, so I am unable to sync my notes.

   Additionally, I have not received any invitation link to access GoodNotes Cloud, which makes it very inconvenient to use.

   If possible, could you please send me an invitation link for GoodNotes Cloud? Alternatively, I would greatly appreciate it if this feature could be made available as soon as possible.

9. Don’t group tools together, or make a shortcut bar

   Having to press the icon twice instead of once to use a tool is time consuming. I need to take lecture notes and switch between tools quickly. Another way is to make a shortcut bar for tools with specific settings.

    Add an option to easily export a text doc AS A TEXT DOC and not as a PDF.

11. TextDoc Formatting Features - Font Size & Aligning/Indenting

    I have been a GoodNotes user for several years throughout my undergraduate time and plan to continue using it through graduate school. I have fallen in love with the TextDoc option, but there are several issues. First, when exporting a TextDoc to a PDF, there is very little room on the "printed" PDF, especially if any headings are used, which is an integral feature for lengthy notes. If DevOps has any way to ensure the headings are kept while the overall size is altered when imported. This could be solved by changing the Text or Font size. Second, another new feature would be the inclusion of "Aligning & Indenting."

12. Let us customize the contextual menu accessible with Apple Pencil Pro

    With every update, I feel like I’m losing out on convenience.
    Now the Lasso tool – one of my most-used tools – has been pushed even further down the context menu, in favour of other fancy tools that I never use.
    The Lasso tool must be right at the top of the list!

    As not all of us have the same needs: please let us customise the context menu so that everyone can adapt it to their personal requirements. Thank you very much!

13. Smart PDF Import: Add Margins with Grid Background for Writing

    When importing PDFs:

    ✔ Allow users to choose “Add expandable writing margin”
    ➡️ Let us set how many cm to add on each side (top, bottom, left, right)
    ➡️ Let us select a background style (grid, lined, blank) for the expanded area
    ➡️ Optionally, allow us to choose whether the background layer appears above or below the imported PDF (this could be added later—no rush!)

    🔥 This would create a perfect page layout with the PDF on one side and structured space to take notes, do calculations, or annotate clearly.

    No more floating sticky notes or struggling with extra pages—just clean, customizable, and efficient.

16. Pen stroke thicknesses

    Currently, the app offers three pen stroke thicknesses (thin, medium, thick). It would be useful to allow users to add one or two additional stroke options for greater flexibility in note-taking and diagramming.

    I think a lot of students would benefit from this option especially students who zoom in to write on tiny organ pictures and re-zoom out for a different font size, like in my case.

    The idea is for those who want to add they can who don’t want then nothing changes.

17. Ball point pen: draw and hold snap

    I used to make perfect stars with a ball pen whenever I drew a wobbly star and then locked my pen in place for it to snap into a perfect star shape. But with the new update you guys for no reason at all ruined this for me. Whenever I try to make the same star shape it clicks into a CIRCLE OR A SQUARE FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT ALL even though what I drew has NOTHING to do with an as simple shape as circle or a square. Please fix this I can not study as efficiently as before.

    The current screenshot feature captures all notes on the page. I wish to add an option to capture only the background.

    Also, it would be easier to have an option like "screenshot and copy", the current workflow is too complex: screenshot, share, copy, and close the preview...

    So two features: "screenshot background", "screenshot and copy".

19. MIDI support

    I'm using Goodnotes on iPad mainly on stage as a guitarist. As I'm not using real sheet music but have my own note-taking scheme, Goodnotes is the perfect tool for me. On stage I'm also using a bluetooth foot-switch (Boss FS1-WL) which is sending HID commands such as "Right arrow" to turn the next page in Goodnotes and it's working well.
    However I have the need to select the next "Performance" on my Amp-Modeler (this can be any MIDI device) at the same time. As the Foot-switch is only able to either being in HID- OR MIDI-mode, this is not possible today. Means, I need to step on the Boss switch to turn the page in Goodnotes and in addition I need to step on another switch of the Amp-Modeler to select the next Performance.

    The feature request:

    Please add simple MIDI communication to be able to receive MIDI CC-commands to turn the page.

    All Music-focused Notes-apps on the market such as "forScore", "MobileSheets", etc. do support MIDI-listener to do exactly what I'm looking for . But I don't like these Apps and I love Goodnotes !

20. Save Whiteboard background

    I'd like to be able to change my default Whiteboard background from Dot Grid & White.

    Could be done by:

    • Saving the last background used
    • Manually saving in the Whiteboard creation screen

    This would be very helpful!
