Many functions you have placed in submenus could easily fit into their respective window headers, toolbars etc. - thereby becoming more obvious and faster/easier to access.
examples:1) The filter for bookmarked pages in the page browser is now the single item in a submenu. Unnecessary - there is easily enough room for 4 tabs - even when viewed as sidebar and in portrait orientation. img_0387

I’m a frequent Goodnotes user on macOS and rely heavily on it to manage and review a large number of PDF documents.
One feature I strongly miss is the macOS “Quick Look” preview functionality — where pressing the space bar instantly displays a full-size preview of a selected file without fully opening it. This allows for extremely fast navigation through document lists and makes it easy to quickly inspect content before deciding to open a file.

Number notebooks automatically/ Index
The option to add page numbers to the notebook in a selected font/size and to also add an Index/ Table of Contents that shows up within the document. Similar to how it is in word or other word processing Programs, just a bit simplified.
Basically the option to add the "outline" as a "table of contents page" within the note book and to show numbers on each page correspondingly.

Pin Notes & Folders for Quick Access
I truly appreciate the powerful note-taking experience that GoodNotes offers. However, I would love to see a Pin Notes feature and a Quick Access Folder option to enhance workflow efficiency.
Currently, navigating between different notes for ongoing study, work, or projects requires extra steps, which can be time-consuming. A pinned notes section would allow users to keep frequently used documents easily accessible.

Lock for AI or Math Assist Function possibly even spell check
Those that use the standard versions of Goodnotes for growing minds/education need locks/parent control features. More recently Goodnotes added Ai and math assist which while I could see the benefits of these features, without having locks or parental controls added the student/child would always have the answer at their fingertips. Never having to learn to do math problems, Spelling, ect. on their own. With Locks/pin required for special features it would giver the owner the ability to use as needed.

importing documents to a folder, search bar opening
currently with the new update, when you import a document to goodnotes, an annoying thing with the new update when you press
location-> it automatically opens the keyboard to let you search for a folder or document you want to import your document to, but it’s really annoying as if you are on an ipad, using the large keyboard, it blocks half the folders. update study sets
please update study sets
i use it a lot for studying but it’s so difficult to use, for example:- currently you cannot press the apple pencil barrel to automatically turn to eraser (!!!!)
- when zooming into top left corner, you cannot write because the undo button blocks it
- add template options - currently it’s only a blank card, it would be better if there were lines to write on (!!!!)
- allow copy and pasting individual flashcards
- study sets are so laggy and most of the time when i make a new flashcards and write on it, it does not show…

Pause / Play animated gifs
The ability to add animated gifs is great, but they just loop continuously. It would be nice to be able to click them to pause or play them. I'm using good notes to record some whiteboard-style tech how-to videos. I'm doing animations in procreate dreams and would like to drop those into a good notes whiteboard. I then use iOS screen record to record the whiteboard session.

[Apple Pencil Pro (squeeze) palette] Support toolbar customization
We all use different tools more frequently, and the new squeeze-to-display-palette with the Apple Pencil Pro is fantastic, but it isn't reflecting the new customized order we make in the top toolbar. And of course it should, it seems to me.

Bring Back the option which allowed you to not select Text Boxes unless you had selected the Tool
Palm rejection often fails. If you are annotating with a pen over a text box it constantly selects the text box (Sometime while I'm writing a word!). There used to be a setting where you could prevent different objects from being selected unless that specific tool was being use (i.e. you could only select a text box when you were using the text box tool)

Make "Text Docs" searchable
You recently introduced "Text Doc". I figured that text within these Text Docs is not searchable. You only find words used in the title of each Text Doc which is obviously limiting.

BRING BACK NORMAL TYPING
The new update on mac makes it so that you cant just tap on the screen and type based on the lines of the page, you have to go through so many steps just to start typing, this has made it extremely annoying to take notes quickly, I suggest bringing back normal typing and keeping the holding page for whole page typing as an add on for people who want it.

Laser rendering mode for ball pen
I've noticed that my handwriting looks significantly better and smoother when using the Laser Pointer (Trail style) compared to any of the permanent pen tools.
The laser pointer seems to have a superior smoothing algorithm and lower latency that isn't currently replicated by the "Stroke Stabilization" settings on the standard Ball Pen. I would like to request a new pen type or a "Laser Mode" toggle for the Ball Pen that uses this exact rendering engine for permanent notes.

Optical Character Recognition Feature
Why can't GoodNotes find certain words from inserted images when I use the search feature? The goodnotes team should really implement an optical character recognition feature, like the ones that one note and notability has. It is so disappointing that we are unable to search for words in a document with images, which would help a lot of students studying in med professions.

Let users remove all AI bloat from app
I am not going to pretend that NOBODY uses Goodnotes AI but lets be real here, you guys must read what people say online, it is NOT as popular as the updates and focus on AI would make you believe.
But just because its trendy and a fraction of people use it, the rest of us are forced to have this stuff taking up spaces and hogging resources when it provides us with no use whatsoever.

Please bring back the keyboard-button you can see on the screenshot. I know there are the new text documents, but especially in school context it is necessary to have the ability to add text to the whole page in a notebook easily.

Eraser and writing aids
The eraser tool works but can get glitchy because when you erase it disappears but then it reappears! It should just erase in one go. Then, there are the writing aids that pop up in the bottom. When you click hide, more just keep coming and you can’t focus

Hi, I'm an iPad user. The new design is currently very inconvenient to use. The floating design of the writing toolbar feels awkward and cramped. Moreover, bugs occur when switching to other tools. The recording tool occupies too much space, and the large, noticeable logo during recording makes me feel unsafe. Additionally, having to open the toolbar to record is very troublesome. After clicking to record, switching to check slides is cumbersome because it requires multiple clicks.
