  1. If you change the orientation of a document to either vertical or horizontal scrolling it will make it a default setting affecting other documents. I like viewing some files in vertical mode while having my planner be horizontal. This makes me rely on other notetaking apps instead of just one. Please consider making a default setting for the orientation of the documents and also make distinct settings for documents. This will help in me just rely on one app!

  2. Goodnotes currently compresses images when importing them into a document. Having the ability to deactivate the compression of images will help greatly in those who import images as templates very often. Please consider making this option available while also making sure this won't lag the document.

  4. I love using cornell notes, but since the paper is ruled, if i type something in, I have to constantly adjust spacing or text size so that the text is not obscured by the lines. I’ve been drawing out my own cornell notes on blank paper but it’d be so much easier to have a template already in place to do that.

Other options like grid or dotted paper would be nice to so that it’s easier to draw graphs.

In the pictures, one photo shows cornell notes on dotted paper (it makes it easier to draw straight lines. On…

  5. When I take a photo of something to insert into my notes, the lighting may not always be great. I’d like to edit a photo within the app to adjust lighting among other things to make the picture clearer.

I know I can take the photo myself and then edit in my photos app, but it’d be a lot easier to snap a photo in GoodNotes and edit it there instead of editing on my phone and then taking the extra step to insert into my notes. It’s simply a matter of convenience.

  6. Sometimes typing or writing out things from other documents or textbooks takes too long. I’d like to just snap a picture of text and have it converted into text that I can edit as necessary.

  7. Let’s face it, google docs is one of the best note taking apps out there but it lacks all the handwritten features GoodNotes has. I’d like to see more text formatting options so that if I did want to type out an essay, I could stay on my GoodNotes app instead of moving over towards google docs or word.

There are too many formatting options on google docs and word but I’m sure everyone is familiar with their formatting options

  8. When typing out a math problem, I’d like the option to insert math symbols like alpha, beta, theta, etc.

  9. Many apps automatically change your hand written notes into text but with this app, you must convert it, and then copy it to your clipboard. Afterwards, you have to lasso your hand written text and then delete it and paste the typed text into the document. Way too time consuming. Why not just select what we want converted and then automatically convert it to text?

  10. Sometimes I have a hard time reading typed out text and understand my own handwriting better but it’s just so tedious writing everything out by hand. Since typing is more efficient, it would be nice to convert text to handwriting. We could start by writing the whole alphabet in capitals and lowercase and when we want to convert text to handwriting, it could replace the text characters with letters we’ve drawn out.

  11. Say you’re drawing a graph and decide later you want to change the color of the lines for better distinction. I’d like to select that one line with the drawing tool and be given the option to change its color and thickness. Although this can be done using the lasso tool, I found that using lasso makes it difficult to isolate one line when it’s intertwined with other lines on the graph. It’d be much easier to make edits with the drawing tool. If you use notability, you’ll know what I’m talking about

  12. The best way to describe this is like the feature in Notability. You have the option to use scribble which automatically converts your handwriting your text or you can draw in your text box. I’d like to see both these options available since the current text box is really small and difficult to adjust once you have it in place.

  15. It would be great if we could hide the menu bar while writing. Similarly to how it hides when the writing mode is off.

  16. It would be neat to have a blend of two colours in one pen. Meaning, if I wanted to have lime green on a white background, I could have the option to outline the lime green with another colour of my choosing. Similar idea to the photo I've added, but the ability to write in a pen instead of typed, and for the colours to somewhat blend into one another instead of it looking like a harsh line.

  17. Es wäre gut wenn man beim Stift eine gestrichelte Linie aus wählen könnte.

Geht ja schon beim Lasso Werkzeug das entsprechend mit bleibenden Linien und allen Fähigkeiten des Stiftes.

  18. Often when reading scientific literature, one has to quickly jump between certain pages (eg text and appendix or literature). A great way to improve the workflow in this condition would be the option to quickly jump between marks, for example by including little arrows left and right of the mark button. One could mark the appendix site and afterwards, when reading through the text, mark the current side, jump with the right arrow to the appendix, and then jump back to the current side using the left arrow.

  19. The following improvements would be great :)
    - A display at the query when the flashcard will be queried again under the classification "Good" "Hard" "Easy" ( depending on the classified learning level for example: Hard= will be asked in two days, good= in four days)
    - Display how many flashcards are requested
    - Display how many flashcards have been queried
    - Display at the end how well the individual flashcards were answered

  20. Instead of highlighter overlining text, program it to switch behind the text. Included is a photo with the above text featuring an overlined highlight, and the lower text featuring "behind" highlight. (In order to achieve "behind", need to first mark with highlighter then write over with pen). The current "overline" setting is frustrating because it compromises the color of the pen instead of accenting it.
