  1. Add more theme colors for the borders. When you open up a notebook, the top color is only blue with no option to change it, it would be nice if we could change the color of that to makes things looks a little bit nicer.

  3. It would be great to have an edit opportunity while studying flash cards.
Searching the current flash card in large notebooks to edit small mistakes is time consuming.

  6. It would be great to have an embedded calculator and create formulas. Currently, calculations must be done outside of goodnotes and then manually added and updated.
Example: Use the app for finance tracking. It is impossible to keep track in the app since numbers such as Totals have to be manually updated when a new transaction is added or changed. It's time consuming and leads to increase of error.

  7. In the way that you can save your favorite brushes, meaning type, color and size, in other apps so you can quickly switch between the main brushes you use in a document, it would be nice if Goodnotes had a similar option as well. It would really speed up my note taking proces if I could quickly switch between different pens and highlighters.

  10. The copy/paste from iOS to macOS is an incredible feature, which makes it very easy to create diagrams for slides (e.g., in Keynote) in GoodNotes, but sometimes when copying diagrams that contain handwriting, only the text being recognized is pasted on macOS (instead of the actual image). This is frustrating, especially because it's inconsistent. Can you please fix the copy/paste behavior so that it consistently pastes the image from GoodNotes into the destination Mac application?

  12. Can you fix the issue with edge printing. This is not a problem in GN4! Only in GN5 and is the reason I haven’t changed.

The three images below demonstrate this ongoing issue. The first is the drawing in GN5, the second is the print preview in AirPrint and the third is the actual output.

In GN4, everything is the same except for the output which prints perfectly right to the edge.

Also FYI, the printer is set for A4, the GN settings are for A4 and this happens on every AirPrint printer that I have ever used with GN5…

  13. I'd love to be able to work on a note both with a stylus and my desktop/keyboard.

Also this would be super useful to be able to stream the note live, e.g. when screen sharing in a live stream or conference call. I could edit on iPad and simply share my macOS screen.

Currently I work around this by mirroring my iPad screen to macOS, but it's a hassle.

  15. Apart from allowing users to lasso select a free range of notes and switching their colors, a shortcut could be added to facilitate this process. The coloring tool should be should be similar to a highlighter, but it only changes the color of existing brushstrokes it touches to a selected colour, instead of drawing new brushstrokes itself.

  16. The zoom out function is very limited (to fit one notebook page or slide at most) in GoodNotes windows. More options in document viewing size, e.g. a 2-page or 4-slide layout, could facilitate users to review their materials more easily.

  17. Being able to type should be default on this app, like notability. It takes up way too much time to choose where to insert a text box, select it again in order to change something in said text box, and move things around. I love everything about this app except the lack of this feature, but its such a crucial feature that I’ve switched over to notability.

  18. Although the zoom tool is great, I don't use it much. I find that it takes up too much screen real-estate while I'm on landscape mode (which is my preferred iPad orientation) while taking notes. Personally, I would use the zoom tool and find it much more ergonomic if the screen was split in half vertically with the left side showing the entire page that can be zoomed in or out of, and the right side would serve as the space for the zoom tool window.

I hope you consider this suggestion GoodNotes team. It would be a game-changer for…

  19. The new function is great! I think however we could take better advantage of the space by making landscape cards that fill the screen and flip to reveal the answer, since it is very hard to read half page cards if they are small, especially if we can’t zoom in on them

  20. In many cases when using the text box option I can adjust the line spacing and font size but the more I type the less the text actually stays on the lines of the page. So far, the only way to deal with this issue is to create multiple text boxes when the text starts to drift away from the lines. In most cases, I like to text for the full length of the page and it's difficult when even the line spacing doesn't actually stay consistent.
