Hope you can change back to the previous design for the tool, recording and save my fav's setting
Hi, I'm an iPad user. The new design is currently very inconvenient to use. The floating design of the writing toolbar feels awkward and cramped. Moreover, bugs occur when switching to other tools. The recording tool occupies too much space, and the large, noticeable logo during recording makes me feel unsafe. Additionally, having to open the toolbar to record is very troublesome. After clicking to record, switching to check slides is cumbersome because it requires multiple clicks. To bookmark important slides quickly, you must first open the tool list, then add them, which is very inconvenient. I really hope it…

Fix the typing features ASAP
The typing feature really needs some attention guys. Tell me why when I try to type a page of notes the whole thing glitches out and either won't save my stuff or doubles all the words I've written on top of each other. You also can't continue typing onto a new page like it suggests. This new update also lowkey made the feature worse because now you can't just click on a page to type and you also have to click back to the textbox icon every time you want to drop a box. [Fountain Pen] Lock Nib Angle
When using the fountain pen with Apple Pencil rotation enabled, users must constantly re-adjust their grip to keep the nib horizontal. Locking rotation forces a fixed default angle that often looks unnatural for a fountain pen.
Please add the option to lock the nib at a user-defined angle, for example by letting the user set the angle with a slider so the pen hits the page the same way every time. See image for example. This would greatly improve writing flow, style and comfort.

Auto-add date and folder name when creating new files
It would be really helpful if, when creating a new notebook or whiteboard, GoodNotes could automatically include the current date (e.g. “September 1, 2025”) and optionally the name of the folder (e.g. “NameFolder – September 1, 2025”) in the file name.
This would greatly improve file organization, especially for users who create many documents daily (like teachers) and want to keep everything tidy without having to rename files manually.6 votes -
Shape editing
Good afternoon, I am writing to tell you that I have been a goodnotes user for approximately 5 years. I am testing the new update you have made, and I have a negative comment. I wanted to tell you that I have found the control of the shapes a little uncomfortable. When selecting a line for example, the blue dots that appear at the ends to edit the shape are a little annoying. less submenus
Many functions you have placed in submenus could easily fit into their respective window headers, toolbars etc. - thereby becoming more obvious and faster/easier to access.
examples:1) The filter for bookmarked pages in the page browser is now the single item in a submenu. Unnecessary - there is easily enough room for 4 tabs - even when viewed as sidebar and in portrait orientation. img_0387
2) Select pages and sidebar/popup toggle hide behind a 3 dots menu in the page browser. Why? There is enough room there to show these directly. Esp. if you implement the toggle as one…

Highlighter synchronization on iPad and MacBook
It would be nice if the highlighters and pictures you insert on the MacBook would not change its position on my iPad. whenever i highlight something on my iPad or on my MacBook or even insert a picture, the same page on the other device is a little shifted and not on the original position.
I uploaded a picture: I wrote the text on my MacBook and highlighted on my iPad. The highlighter on the my MacBook was then shifted from its original position on my iPad. The highlighter on my iPad is still on the original position.6 votes -
Writing on am image be writing on the image itself
When annotating an image that I imported onto the note, it would be amazing that if/when I move the image that whatever I wrote would move with it as if I wrote on the actual image itself. Currently, I could use the lasso tool but that seems very clunky for such a smooth interface such as Goodnotes

Allow password recovery option for when we forget a password
Allow some means to recover password for when a password is forgotten. Or disable the master lock. Allow user to set different passwords for different files if desired.

AI Audio Overview from notes or PDF like notebook LM
Notebook LM has a great feature where you can create an audio overview using AI that creates a podcast episode from the content. This is the only reason I use Notebook LM as well as goodnotes and I think this should be on Goodnotes' roadmap as party of becoming a leading AI notebook took.

Special edition in India
hello goodnotes.I am from India. I am currently using the 1year(essential) plan. but I want to upgrade my subscription to the special edition/ lifetime subscription. but it seems like ,in India- the special edition subscription is not available .there is only the essential/yearly plans and one Pro plan. so it will be very helpful if you add the special edition plan for India region.
I desperately need the special edition plan. and it is not available in India region so is there any other way that I can buy the special edition subscription.

Exporting Whiteboard “Scenes” to Standard Pages
Hey so as a computer engineer student i love the whiteboards tool as it feels like writing on a piece of paper and is good for solving problems. I think maybe having something called scenes on whiteboards. For example, if I do homework and I solve it, but its alot i feel like you should be able to export a standard size paper so it's not all on one page, maybe front and back, and it's at a decent size on the page. kinda like stealing the idea from the freeform app.

Ich finde GoodNotes wirklich toll, und tatsächlich sogar besser als One Note von Microsoft. Aber eine wichtige Funktion fehlt mir, das Einfügen von Musikdateien und Videos, oder die Implementierung von YouTube- Videos. Ich benötige als Lehrer dieses Funktion unbedingt. Dann ist das Arbeiten im Whiteboard wirklich eine angenehme Sache.

Option to Customize Thumbnails Per Row in Page Navigator
Hello GoodNotes Team,
I have a small feature request regarding the page navigator.
On my previous 12.9-inch iPad, the page thumbnails were displayed four per row. I organized many of my bookmarked pages assuming this four-per-row layout.
After switching to a 13-inch iPad, the navigator now displays five thumbnails per row. Because of this, the layout of my bookmarked pages has been disrupted. The rows I organized are now mixed, which makes it difficult to recognize them at a glance.

Permanent tab bar
When I have a document open, the tab bar shows a tab for each open document. Also, the Home tab appears on the left in the tab bar. When I click on it, the tab bar with the open documents disappears. To get back to the open documents, I then have to open a document again.
It would be easier if in the Home view (a) the tab bar remained permanently at the top (so that the Home view is just another tab), or (b) there was a shortcut called “Open documents” on the left.

Missing text features in goodnotes 7
In GoodNotes 7 it is no longer possible to set a default text style, and text backgrounds are missing. Both features existed in GoodNotes 6 and are essential for my work (e.g. creating assignments, official documents). Please clarify: is this a bug that will be fixed, or a deliberate design decision that will remain?

Highlighter Grouping
I often use different sets of highlighting colors depending on what I’m working on. It would be very helpful if Goodnotes allowed users to create and save groups (or palettes) of highlight colors. That way, I wouldn’t need to manually change the highlight colors each time I switch tasks or subjects.
