  • Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
  • Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
  • Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.

  1. Hello Goodnotes team! First of all, I would like to say that I love using your app. Ever since I started studying on an Ipad with goodnotes my productivity improve 100%. I love how clean and intuitive the software is. I also really like the cloud integration. This is where my first feature request comes from as well. Actually, I believe it is more of a bug. On some of the pdfs of my notes which are auto uploaded to google drive, the highlighter doesn't display properly. Instead, it looks like a series of triangles. Another request I have…

  2. I'm a surgical resident, and I've used almost every form of note taking, app and study method available in my 30+ years of being a professional student.

I've used Notability for a long time, but switched to Goodnotes because of the feature set, community, and one-time fee model. There are a few key missing features that make me switch back and forth between the apps.

Disclaimer: I realize the amount of effort it takes to execute new features and believe people should be compensated for their work. I would not be opposed to in-app purchases for the additional features proposed…

  3. Could we have a mode that defaults to simple shapes for the shape tool? My handwriting is terrible... but if I draw something that remotely looks like a rectangle, I want it to be a rectangle, not some other weird shape.

So maybe only allow circles, squares, rectangles, triangles? Something along these lines...

  4. I have a suggestion regarding the image crop tool that would significantly enhance its usability for creative tasks. Currently, the freehand crop is limited to very shakey hand drawn selections. It would be incredibly beneficial to have the ability to crop images using basic scalable shapes like circles, squares, triangles, hearts, and stars within the freehand mode.
Additionally, the option to draw straight lines in freehand mode that then function as crop boundaries would be a game-changer for precisely cutting out imagery. While I understand a "magic lasso" auto-crop might be complex, even the addition of the basic scalable…

  6. As a mathematics teacher and a regular user of GoodNotes 6, I greatly appreciate how the app supports digital teaching and note-taking. However, during my daily use—especially in teaching complex concepts—I found that a few additional features would significantly improve the experience, particularly for educators like me:
    1. Merge and Split Strokes: This would allow us to combine or separate drawn elements easily—very helpful when organizing mathematical constructions or diagrams.
    2. Edit Stroke Properties After Drawing: It would be beneficial to tap on a stroke and adjust its style (e.g., dashed, dotted, solid) or thickness, which is essential when emphasizing…
