Smart PDF Import: Add Margins with Grid Background for Writing
When importing PDFs:
✔ Allow users to choose “Add expandable writing margin”
➡️ Let us set how many cm to add on each side (top, bottom, left, right)
➡️ Let us select a background style (grid, lined, blank) for the expanded area
➡️ Optionally, allow us to choose whether the background layer appears above or below the imported PDF (this could be added later—no rush!)🔥 This would create a perfect page layout with the PDF on one side and structured space to take notes, do calculations, or annotate clearly.
No more floating sticky notes or struggling with extra pages—just…

[Keyboard] Restore Removed Text Formatting Hotkeys
There used to be loads of hotkeys that would make things so much quicker.
E.g.,
- Cmd + +/- when highlighting text would make it larger/smaller
- Cmd + \ would centre text ([ and ] to align left/right)Both of these hotkeys have been removed. Now, when i highlight text and use Cmd + -, it just zooms out. This paired with the terrible toolbar redesign (including the floating toolbar), everything takes so many clicks. These hotkeys have basically become muscle memory and they're slowly getting rid of all of them, won't be surprised if they decide to get…

Cross-Platform Sync (iOS to Web/Windows)
Dear Goodnotes Team,
I am a dedicated Goodnotes user and rely heavily on the app for exam preparation and daily study.
Cross-Platform Viewing
While I primarily use my iPad for handwriting notes, I often need to review materials on a Windows PC or in a web browser. The ability to seamlessly sync and view iOS Goodnotes content across platforms would be a game-changer.
Being able to reference notes on a larger monitor while typing or completing practice exams would significantly improve productivity for students and professionals alike.
Thank you for your continued work on such a valuable tool. I hope…

[Timer] Add -1 Minute Button to Timer
The timer features are so great, the small size, the set modes and the +1 min button are great.
It's quite hard to decrease the amount of time however.
A -1 min button would make it do everything I need it to do to quickly set timers for my classes.

Bring back the old pen
I really miss the consistent style of the pen before the most recent update, the new pen is thicker and thinner in different places and its honestly unusable for me. I also miss the feature that you guys had a little while ago with the magnified writing box, it really helped with writing long sentences and streamlining note taking :)

Rounded corners on shapes
There should be an option to draw shapes with rounded corners added to the new stroke settings similar to the ability to draw dashed and dotted lines and arrows heads. This idea was posted 2 other times back in 2020 but has not been addressed or updated.

[Study Sets] Add Timer-Based Auto-Flip
Open Practice should have a timer and auto flip function.
Scenario:
You want a quick run through of the material but remain accountable. You start the timer. You get 2 minutes to look at the question and then it flips to the answer. It refreshes your memory without allowing you to skip thinking. Plus its hands free.1 vote -
Lontinuous Element
''Continuous Element Sticking Mode" / "Repeat Sticker Placement"
I request the reintroduction of a feature or an option to enable
"Continuous Placement Mode"
for the Elements tool.Select the Element Tool.Tap on an element(sticker, image, textbox.)
from the Elements bar.The tool should remain active, allowing the user to tap repeatedly on the canvas to place the selected element multiple times until a different tool is selected (e.g., Pen, Lasso).

When using sticky notes, it is inconvenient that the user name is displayed automatically.
When using sticky notes, it is inconvenient that the user name is displayed automatically.
While showing names can be helpful during collaboration with two or more people on a shared document, it becomes distracting when the document is used individually. I often use sticky notes like Post-it notes for personal annotations and quick notes, and in this case, the automatic display of my name feels unnecessary and disruptive.
It would be very helpful to have an option to toggle the automatic display of names on or off, depending on whether the document is being used collaboratively or individually.

[Whiteboard] Allow Custom Background Colors for Whiteboards
When I choose the background color of a whiteboard, I would like to have the possibility to choose a custom color instead of the three colors available now (white, yellow, black). It would be great if it worked in the same way of choosing the background color of notebooks. Thanks.

Add Auto-Snapback to Pen After Highlighting
Just how once you’re done erasing it goes right back to the pencil so I can write. I think this would also be useful if it did the same thing for highlighting. Every time I have to highlight and it doesn’t go back to the pencil I waste more time going back to erase what I highlighted on my page because i Though I was using the pen tool

[Audio Recording] Request to Enable Audio Playback Across Files and Improve Audio UI
1.As shown in IMG1457, when opening a file without an audio recording (on the right) alongside a file that has an audio recording (on the left), the audio cannot be played. However, as shown in IMG1458, if the opened file also contains an audio recording, the audio can be played normally.
- This creates a problem when taking notes or summarizing content. I would like to request that audio playback remain available regardless of whether the file opened side-by-side contains an audio recording or not.2.When playing audio, audio control panels appear on both sides of the screen,…

stabile elements across devices
Please do find a way to prevent elements from moving around when switching between different devices. It is very frustrating to edit a dokument om my ipad omly to open it om my macbook and seeing that the textboxes and highliting etc have moved in relation to eachother. It makes it very hard to navigate on my macbook, and the contet does not make sense because of this. I am uploading two pictures where one is from my ipad, and the other is the exact same document opened om my macbook. Pleeeease find a solution for this! Thank you.

AirPlay Blurry Text and Images
This seems like a bug and it makes Goodnotes almost unusable for me. On my iPad I can see all the text and images fine, but on AirPlay, my students see a very pixelated version of all text and images.
This happens both on whiteboards and pages, which leads me to think that it has something to do with a parameter that you might have set for the render resolution. The render resolution is too low for the current zoom level.
This bug is making it really difficult to teach, could we potentially downgrade to an older version?

highlight
PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU ! As a medical student, I rely heavily on typed summaries. Please implement a native keyboard shortcut (like Cmd + Shift + E) or holding with your finger ( on iPad) to highlight selected text directly within a text box. This would eliminate the need for manual drawing
