One Large Text Document for AI Generated Notes from Audio/ Pause Button
It would be really nice if we could have the option for the AI generated notes from different audio clips to go into one text doc/generated note. For example, if I had notes from one module but it took 2 lectures to get through, I could add them to the same text document. All the AI generated Notes for one notebook would be in one document. Undo/Redo Button Placement Significantly Reduces Usability
The relocation of the “Undo” and “Redo” buttons from the top right corner in GoodNotes 5 to the top left corner in GoodNotes 6 has significantly impacted usability. When using the undo function, it is essential to visually track how far changes have been reverted. With the buttons now placed on the top left, my right hand not only has to move across the entire screen(!!!), but it also obstructs the view while tapping, making it difficult to see what is being undone in real time.

Natural Switching Between Handwriting and Typing Without Tool Changes
In my study and note-taking workflow, I naturally switch between handwriting and typing. While GoodNotes allows adding a typing block, the current experience feels too simple and not fully integrated with the handwritten document, which makes the transition less practical during real study sessions.
A more natural interaction could greatly improve this experience: writing with the Apple Pencil would continue to produce handwriting anywhere on the page, while tapping the screen with a finger would instantly open the keyboard and allow typing directly at that location—without manually switching tools or modes.

Please put copy and paste back
Why did you change the copy and paste? It takes way too long to copy and paste an item now. I hate how it asks me a question each time I simply want to paste an item. I don’t understand this change. The question of “allow paste”should just be a setting you can pick outside of the regular function. I get behind in my note taking because i constantly have to answer the copy and paste question. Major bug in document scan tool. Pls fix it. More infos in description
That´s not an Idea it´s a bug still not fixed since new update. U can´t close the "Scan Document" feature if u don´t scan any foto. U have to restart the Program to even acces youre Documents

Snap to line/grid & Customized profile pic
Shape not snapping to grid is the only reason my friend is not switching to Goodnotes. He’s an engineer and it would be incredibly helpful. Also please allow us to customize our profile picture color at least. Right now, it’s a color that’s unlucky in my country, so I would really appreciate it.

Lasso tool should not activate automatically
Lasso tool should please not activate automatically while writing (ie after drawing a line and clicking it to make it longer or shorter), requiring tapping the pen tool to return to writing

Write with Pencil over Text Document
I mainly use the new Text Doc template and type up the majority of my notes. I'd like an easy way to add handwriting to the text document.
Also, I've noticed that it is very hard to add a phone to a Text Doc template.

There is a vast disparity in how different Chinese people write. For those with poor handwriting, their original script might be legible to themselves but difficult for others to read or problematic to save for future reference. Therefore, I hope to see a real-time handwriting beautification feature. Some Chinese apps have already implemented this, and I hope your company can follow suit.

It would be great if PDF files could be imported without becoming a separate page, but rather so that they appear on the interface similar to notes and can be resized.
For example, you could insert additional PDFs into a school script that provide further information on the topic and can be stored there.
This way, the PDFs can be minimised for storage and then enlarged for reading.2 votes -
LOCKING ITEMS IS A START, BUT... NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!
Recently, a "lock object" feature was introduced which is AMAZING, thank you. However, as others have noted, sometimes a whole page is an image (say a form that you're filling out, working with other little images or handwriting on top of it). We're all doing it, I'm sure you don't need a picture. It's great that I can lock the base layer, but still EVEN IF I've already sent it to the back, if I select it, it visually brings it front and now I can't see the objects on top. I’m writing to share some UX feedback based on frequent, everyday use of GoodNotes on iPad. All of the points below stem from a common issue: tool discoverability and predictability, especially for power users who rely on muscle memory.
- Inconsistent context menu ordering When selecting content, the context menu (Copy, Paste, Duplicate, etc.) changes order depending on context. For example, “Copy” sometimes appears near the top and other times much lower in the list. Because these are high-frequency actions, the inconsistency makes the interface feel unpredictable and slows down routine workflows.

Auto-deselect for lasso tool
Auto-switch back to previous tool after using the lasso.
For example, after I move an object, it automatically switches back to the pen tool.

I found an issue where custom fonts installed on iOS (e.g., via the Bakey font app) do not appear in the font list when Goodnotes 6 uses the new Whiteboard-enabled UI.
Here are the details:
✔ Old UI (no Whiteboard option)
“New note” menu does not show the Whiteboard button
Font toolbar is in the top ribbon
Custom fonts appear normally
✔ New UI (with Whiteboard — released around Sep 25, 2025)
“New note” menu includes a Whiteboard button
Font toolbar becomes a floating popup near the text box

Setup Logitech Creative Console for Goodnotes
Logitech Creative Console is a device that is programmable for navigating apps i.e. Adobe, Photoshop, Zoom etc. However there isn't an available template for Goodnotes, it can be programmed by each individual user, however it would be fantastic if one were available for all Goodnotes users.

Adding new node or handle to existing shape
When drawing shapes goodnotes creates nodes or handles to allow you to adjust the shape, however you cannot then add a new node/handle to the shape.
For example, if I draw a triangle, and then want to change it to a 4 sided shape, I have to delete the shape and redraw.
When drawing complex shapes, this is time consuming and frustrating.
Please can you add the option to add new nodes (or handles) to existing shapes?2 votes -
Bring back Command-"-"/Command-"+" for changing text size
Why did you remove this in favor of zooming. I want to be able to change the Paragraph Style (Heading 1, Heading 2... Body, Caption) using the keyboard. This is an important feature for taking notes using the keyboard, while not constantly tapping around on screen.

Edit font size for written and drawn things
We should be able to edit the size of written text and drawn shapes that have already been created. I don’t mean like how it is now. That’s great too. But, for example, after adding a shape, you can adjust the width. We would like that for everything drawn, that’d be great. I have adhd and i like to make things extra pop by making some words thicker than the rest and i used the change in text size for organization.
