I know the business and product teams probably feel pressure to keeping adding more stuff to get more users and growth whatever, but you are alienating your hardcore power users that have been recommending this product for 10 years.

Decouple zoom window from main view
When writing in the zoom window, the place where you are writing has to appear also in the main view. This is sometimes inconvenient as it may be handful to write in page 3 but seeing page 1 for instance.

It would be extremely helpful if GoodNotes supported video recording of the note-taking process, including screen capture and optional audio recording. This feature could allow users to:
• Record lectures or self-explanations while writing
• Rewatch how notes were created step by step

Shape editing was better in Goodnotes 6
I regularly use the shape to draw curved lines and then edit their shape to create larger, more complex shapes. Currently, that‘s next to impossible:
- Editing points don‘t scale with zooming; especially when editing small lines, the points now cover up the lines entirely.
- These lines are often glitched out and turn invisible while editing, especially when multiple lines are connected together.
- After editing a line, Goodnotes automatically selects the lasso tool instead of the pen, making the drawing process very tedious.None of these issues occured with Goodnotes 6, I hope these issues are fixed with…

Organisation Tab
I really like the Idea of a coloration Tab or planning tab. So that I can give myself tasks with deadlines, have a calender for exams etc.
If I then could invite people to join my project where I can assign tasks like in other Apps (see notion, microsoft teams or asana).
All in all I want a feature where I cannot only work but plan and get reminded for my work without using a second app.1 vote -
Menu redesign
Right now it feels the navigation part is taking too much space vertically. I would consider remove the top-most dark blue part of the navigation panel, as for the functions there, they can be moved to the tool row (pencil, eraser, color etc). This may make the tool row a bit crowded, but one can always add a scrolling to fit all the tools we have right now.

pen & highlighter straight line changing point
In the newer versions, the blue changing points for drawing straight lines are very big. If you zoom in, it becomes impossible to be exact.

More Keyboard Shortcuts
Please add more to the keyboard shortcut list! I work with a macro pad right now and it is super useful to be able to switch between the tools. But it would be a huge improvement to able to toggle between the colors, and sizes. Even better make the keyboard shortcuts customizable. Continuing to work on the keyboard shortcuts in any capacity would make a large improvement to my work flow.

When taking notes or writing in a document, there’s often not enough space on the page. In such cases, adding a “page expansion” feature that allows users to extend the writing area within the same page would provide greater flexibility and continuity. This would be particularly useful for users who prefer to keep related content on a single page rather than having it scattered across multiple pages. Video clips and more writing tools and drag and drop of specfic page to my mind map
Everything is good I mainly use Goodnotes for mind mapping my lectures the only hindrance I faced that I was not able to add video clips to my notes, and also when I import PDF of my lecture notes in good notes. I can’t just drag and drop pages from like a specific slide to directly into my Notes, which is like a another hindrance because I have to take screenshot again and again and then put it back in. Add a Pin Navigation Feature in Infinite Canvas Mode.
I would like to suggest adding a “Pin” feature to Infinite Canvas mode. As notes expand across a large canvas, it becomes increasingly difficult to relocate specific sections without repeatedly zooming and dragging around. This is especially frustrating when trying to find important content written earlier.
A Pin feature would allow users to mark specific locations on the canvas and quickly navigate back to them. Ideally, users could place pins anywhere, assign optional names (e.g., “Key Concept” or “Meeting Summary”), and access a panel listing all pins for one-click navigation.

Enable Text Highlighting with Mouse on iPadOS
Dear Goodnotes Team,
I’d like to share some feedback regarding the use of a mouse in the iPadOS version of Goodnotes.
Currently, when using the app on a MacBook, it’s possible to highlight text with a mouse. However, on the iPad, this functionality is not available. If you’re using an iPad with a mouse and keyboard setup, you have to physically move the iPad closer, pick up the Apple Pencil, and only then can you highlight text.
This makes the experience less seamless, especially for users who prefer a desktop-like setup with their iPad.

more tape toggle
Add an option for the tape feature to toggle all on or all off, in addition to the remove all feature. I don't want to go through my entire document to open them all or close them all. One button is better.

Bigger writing for whiteboard
I would like to be able to make the writing size bigger for features like the whiteboard since I personally like to have a lot of size difference in my mindmaps and it would really help out. I‘d suggest to have the 3 different sizes like before but also add an option to create your own size with a pen that you can resize by pixelwidth, so everyone is happe :)

[Lock Objects] Add Lock Icon to the Primary Object Menu
Please include a lock function/icon in the primary image click hover menu.
And/or even more functionality to be able to “pin” tools nested in the ellipsis (overflow menu) to this primary hover menu permanently as specified by user.
This would save several inputs in order to lock elements, similar to how (once locked) the hover menu populates with a rapid unlock image icon.
