[Toolbar] Floating Formatting Toolbar Blocks Content
The floating text formatting toolbar covers content above the text box, making it difficult to read or present PDFs while typing. This is especially disruptive during screen sharing or teaching sessions. The user prefers the previous toolbar placement or an option to choose between the old and new layouts.

Fix shape editor. Return old UI!!
Put the old snare editor back. The new one is unintuitive and unhelpful. Instead of being able to edit a shape I get nonsensical points to move around.

GoodNotes 6 did this better. Bring those text features back.
Iโm glad to see that some parts of the app have improved with the latest update. However, the text editing experience is still much less convenient compared to GoodNotes 6.
Why did you add the unnecessary โModern, Classic, Technicalโ text panel in the text box? Please replace it with the โRecently Used Fontsโ feature like in GoodNotes 6. Many users frequently switch between multiple fonts, so removing that feature truly makes no sense.
Also, I really hope you bring back the option to keep the font, size, and text settings fixed at the top like in GoodNotes 6. Something thatโฆ

Infinite Scroll note / page / notebook
Hello! i know the whiteboard already exists, but i feel they are quite limited in file size, as well as can get overwhelming for certain purposes. i think it would be great to ADDITIONALLY have an infinite scrolling note, but not infinite sideways, only downwards. This is a great in between for many purposes, and it is quite similar to a common format found throughout many apps such as apple notes, upnote, etc... having a goodnotes version of this would definitely be amazing!

Categorize
Hi goodnotes is my go to app and searching accros 500 folders is becoming tedious so allowing pdf to have "tags" for example: my course note in algebra I put the tags "Course note" and "Algebra" and I can filter and find It in 2 seconds instead of putting it in favorite and look at all the others files that are favorited.

Increased Zoom Level for Pages
Hi Goodnotes Team,
Iโm a medical student and have been using your wonderful app, including a paid subscription, for several years. Goodnotes has become one of my main study tools, and overall Iโve had a very positive experience with it.
However, my main issue has always been the limited maximum zoom level.
As a medical student, I often create very detailed pages containing multiple questions, explanations, diagrams, and summary tables all on one page. Because of this, some of the text can be quite small, and I often need to zoom in further to read it comfortably. Unfortunately, the currentโฆ

[AI Connectivity] External AI Use MCP or API
Would it be possible to allow students to use their own personal AI subscription in GoodNotes? While you have a decent and well-integrated system going right now, myself and many others would benefit from a quick and easy way of giving an external AI like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini the context of the documents in GoodNotes. I'm not saying to ditch your own AI, I'm just asking to see if you can give Agents context through MCP or API or something.

Better combination of handwriting and typing
When taking notes using handwriting and typing with a keyboard case itโs often a struggle to change betweeen the tools.
When the writing tool is selected, I canโt type at all and have to long press on the page to select start typing / edit text. This is very annoying.
The writing mode isnโt very intuitive either. It would be nice to just start typing without clicking many buttons.3 votes -
Add a way to close file navigator and return to document tabs
There are two view modes in Goodnotes:
- File navigation
- Documents tabs (the documents already open)
We can switch from 2 to 1.
But for some baffling reason there is no way to simply switch from 1 to 2. Instead there is only the contrived way of having to open any file in order to return to 2.
I do not know why Goodnote's UI/UX team has been thinking all these years that that be an okay solution. No other programme does this and it is counterintuitive.
Could you please add this? It's so easy to do. E.g. you could addโฆ

[Import] Vertical Auto Layout for PDF Import in Whiteboards
When importing a multi page PDF into a GoodNotes whiteboard, the pages are currently placed off to the right and arranged in a grid like layout. This forces users to manually reposition every page to create a readable top to bottom flow.
For large lecture PDFs or study materials, this manual reorganization is inefficient and time consuming.
A significant improvement would be an automatic vertical layout option where PDF pages are imported in a single straight column, stacked from top to bottom, similar to continuous scroll behavior. Ideally, this would be the default behavior, with an optional toggle to switchโฆ

Update 7.0.3 is re-shaping my closed shapes. And not in a good way.
Sorry, dear Goodnotes team, but sth is not cool with the new update 7.0.3 Whenever I want to draw a closed shape, it makes it all wobbly and creates some kind of text field out of it. Whatโs happening? How can I make it stop? I donโt need text fields, I use always my handwriting.

Give users "a button" that allows them to freely choose whether to enable or disable the liquid glass effect within the software!
Please completely disable the Liquid Glass dynamic effect for older devices (such as my iPad Pro 2018, 12.9-inch with A12X processor), or provide users with a "button" that allows them to freely choose whether to enable or disable this feature within the app!!!
(Before Apple required apps to support Liquid Glass effects as a condition for listing, GoodNotes ran extremely smooth and fluid! After recent updates, it has become laggy, frequently killed in the background, and suffers from delays.)
Since the app introduced the Liquid Glass effect a few months ago:

Bring back ability to erase/move shape fillings
Before, you could make a shape with a fill color, and erase the filler separately from the shape outline. Now, you canโt even erase the outline and leave just the filling, or vice versa.

Exact Phrase Search
Exact Phrase Search โ The search function can sometimes be too broad. An โExact Phrase search option would be very useful for finding specific words or phrases without unrelated results.
- Default Font for Sticky Notes โ Please add an option to set a default font, font size, and formatting specifically for Sticky Notes, so users donโt have to manually change the font every time they create a new one.

Please add a public API and developer resources so files can be automatically imported and organized into folders by class, week, and lecture. Better automation support would make Goodnotes much more powerful for students and developers building academic workflows.
