1. Allow moving pages/notes directly into existing notebooks on macOS

   Currently, on the macOS version of Goodnotes, the "Move to" feature only allows selecting folders ("Solo cartelle"). It is not possible to move or merge a generated page directly into an existing notebook from this view.
   To add a page to a notebook, we currently have to move the file to the folder, open the target notebook, and manually import the page, which feels cumbersome compared to iPadOS.
   Please enable the option to view and select existing notebooks/documents as destination targets in the "Move to" menu on macOS.

   I would like to see much better zooming options, like in apps like notability or noteful, you can zoom up to 5000%. I feel like adding this would be amazing. Make it easier to work on the really fine details. Maybe consider adding this option. Thanks

   I love using Goodnotes for studying, but I would love to see more creative writing tools, similar to the variety available in apps like CollaNote and Noteful.

7. Bookmark for Whiteboards

   Add a tool to bookmark specific parts of a whiteboard so you can jump directly to them. Have all the bookmarks be visible under one searchable menu.

   E.g if you click on a bookmark you made for linear algebra, it'll bring you straight to your notes on the topic.

8. Feature Requests and Improvement Suggestions for Goodnotes

   Dear Goodnotes Team,

   I would like to share some feature requests and suggestions that I believe could make Goodnotes even more useful, especially for studying, teaching, presenting, and working with Whiteboards.

   1. Customizable Laser Pointer Duration

   It would be very useful to make the display duration of the Laser Pointer adjustable. Users could choose how long the laser line remains visible before automatically disappearing.

   1. Toggle Function for Taps

   I would really appreciate a toggle function for Taps. There could be a switch that allows all Taps used within a notebook or Whiteboard to be revealed or hidden at once.

   Currently, if I want to reuse a Tap, I have to delete it and add it again, which can be quite inconvenient. A simple show/hide function would make this much easier.

   1. Built-in Diagrams

   A built-in diagram tool would be very useful. For example, it could allow users to quickly create:

   • Line charts
   • Bar charts
   • Column charts
   • Pie charts
   • Other basic diagrams

   Ideally, these diagrams could be moved, resized, and edited like other objects in Goodnotes.

   1. Automatically Follow Pencil Sketches

   It would be helpful to have a feature that allows a normal pen stroke to automatically follow a previously drawn pencil sketch.

   For example, when I sketch something with a pencil and then trace over it with a normal pen, Goodnotes could automatically align the new stroke with the pencil line, similar to how the ruler helps with precise drawing.

   Alternatively, Goodnotes could automatically recognize when a pencil sketch is being traced and replace the original pencil line with the clean pen line.

   1. Insert Entire Large Notebooks into Whiteboards

   It would be very useful to insert an entire notebook, including all of its pages, into a Whiteboard.

   For example, I would like to be able to insert a notebook containing 130 or more fully completed pages into a Whiteboard at once.

   There already seems to be a way to insert content into Whiteboards, but the current character/content limitation is relatively small. Increasing this limit significantly, or ideally removing it, would make the feature much more useful.

   1. More UI Personalization

   I would also appreciate more customization options for the Goodnotes interface.

   For example, users could be able to customize the colors of the toolbar and the top menu independently.

   A possible theme could be:

   • Black background
   • Red accents
   • White icons and text

   This would allow users to personalize Goodnotes and create their own preferred visual setup.

   1. Lines and Grid Options for Whiteboards

   A Whiteboard option with different background styles would also be very useful.

   For example:

   • Ruled lines
   • Grid paper
   • Dot grid
   • Graph/millimeter paper
   • Plain white

   Ideally, users could also adjust the spacing, color, and thickness of the lines or grid.

    I frequently use Goodnotes to annotate directly on top of imported photos and images. Because the current pens only output solid, single-color ink, my handwriting constantly gets lost in the dark or busy areas of the pictures.

    It would be incredibly helpful to have a new pen tool—or a toggle for the existing pens—that automatically generates a contrasting outline (like white) or a subtle drop-shadow in real-time as I write.

    Right now, I have to interrupt my workflow to draw highlighter backgrounds, duplicate text to create manual shadows, or drop in pre-saved shape elements just to make my notes legible. A dedicated outlined ink option would completely remove this friction and make photo markup seamless.

12. Advanced Editing for Images and Elements

    I really like the feature that allows you to align Images and Elements with fixpoints that already are on a document.
    The next evolution of this feature I'd really like to see would be the possibility to select wether you want and Image or a section of selected handwriting to respond to said fixpoints.
    Sometimes when editing handwritten Text in a Document where you inserted a picture it is quite hard if not impossible to align it when it respons to a fixpoint.
    A on of switch for the selected text or image or whatever to be able to deselect the response to fixpoints would be great.

    Also being able to center or decenter images or elements like word allows you to would be much appreciated.

    Furthermore I'd like to see the possibility of being able to add borders or shadows to images to be able to integrate them more seamlessly into a document.

    I really like the feature that allows you to align Images and Elements with fixpoints that already are on a document.

    I would be much more comfortable if only email addresses that I approved beforehand could send pdfs via email directly to my devices.

    Similar to the implementation SAP Concur uses...
    - you could add your own personal or work email address to your Goodnotes account.
    - Only emails with pdf attachments originating from these approved addresses are then imported to the Goodnotes account.
    - Emails originating from other accounts are automatically declined

14. Long-press Apple Pencil to temporarily switch to eraser

    I'd like to suggest a new feature for GoodNotes: when using Apple Pencil, long-pressing on the screen for a configurable duration (around 0.1–0.5s) would temporarily switch the tool to an eraser. The eraser would remain active until the pencil is lifted off the screen, after which it would automatically revert to the previous tool.

    This would make erasing mistakes much faster and more convenient than double-tapping the pencil to toggle between pen and eraser, since it eliminates the back-and-forth switching and keeps the workflow smooth and uninterrupted.

    Ideally, the long-press duration could be adjustable in settings to suit different users' preferences. I think this would be a valuable addition for anyone who writes or draws frequently with the Apple Pencil.

    I teach math and statistics over Zoom, using Goodnotes on Mac. While teaching, I switch pen colors constantly, for example to highlight a formula, mark a correction, or separate steps in a solution.

    Right now, every time I want to change color, I have to move the pointer away from the page to the toolbar, pick the color, and only then go back to writing. It's very frustrating, and it breaks the flow of the lesson in front of students.

    Request:

    Let users define several pen colors (a preset palette) that are available directly in the toolbar.
    Add customizable keyboard shortcuts (for example, 1, 2, 3, 4) to switch instantly between those pen colors without moving the cursor to the toolbar.

    This would make Goodnotes much faster and smoother for teaching, presentations, and note-taking, and it's especially valuable on Mac, where keyboard shortcuts are an essential part of the workflow.

17. Quick-add to Table of Contents from selected text ("Ghost Page")

    When working in a long notebook (for example, 80+ pages in), adding a heading to the table of contents means leaving my place, scrolling back to page 1, writing the entry, and then scrolling all the way back. I'd like a faster way to do this.

    Proposed feature:

    1. I highlight a title or text segment (e.g., "Lecture 12 – Filters, p. 80").

    2. A new option appears in the selection menu, such as "Send to Table of Contents."

    3. A "ghost page" overlay appears showing the table of contents page, with a "Go to page…" field and left/right arrows to flip to the right page if I land on the wrong one.

    4. I place the highlighted text where I want it on that page, then tap a checkmark to confirm.

    5. Goodnotes automatically returns me to the page I was on (page 80), exactly where I left off.

    Why it matters:
    It makes building and updating a table of contents much faster for students and anyone with long notebooks. I label each section with a title and page number, and this would let me file it without losing my train of thought or my place in the notebook.

    Hi Goodnotes team,

    Currently, the Pencil tool in Goodnotes is extremely faint and barely visible when using the Apple Pencil (USB-C), making it practically unusable for daily note-taking.

    Since the Apple Pencil (USB-C) lacks physical pressure sensitivity hardware, Goodnotes seems to default to the lowest pressure level (minimum opacity).

    Could you please optimize the Pencil tool for styluses without pressure sensitivity? Specifically, please set the default stroke darkness to a standard, legible level (equivalent to normal/medium pressure) when pressure data is absent, or add an opacity slider so users can adjust the base darkness manually. This would greatly help users who rely on the USB-C model.

19. Better autoscroll control on zoom writing

    When i write using the zoom function, despite I have the autoscroll or autojump desactivated it still moves the page. I'd like to be able to zoom while seeing the whole page or even previos pages. I don't want to see what i am writing double, i want to write while seeing other areas or reading other pages of my notebook. I am attaching a video to see what I am refering when i say it autojumps despite having this function off

20. Bolding handwriting

    The new handwriting optimization tool is great. However it would be nice to have more options of handwriting as they all look the same and the option to bold it or change the width.
