  1. Hi!
-I want the font size adjustment function to allow selecting the font size display position and entering the size you want to change instead of the slider which makes it very difficult to change
-Also, I keep changing the font size once but when I exit that area to create a new writing area, I have to drag the slider to adjust the font size again.
    Thanks!

  2. I'm genuinely impressed with the timer and stopwatch features. They've been instrumental in boosting my productivity and focus during study sessions by using time-based challenges.

However, to truly master my time management, I've identified a key missing piece: the ability to review my total time spent across all documents. This macro-level insight is crucial for making informed decisions about where to focus my efforts, allowing me to align my study time with my actual priorities.

An excellent example of this kind of analytics is found in Jibble. Integrating similar charts and graphs directly within Goodnotes—offering a visual breakdown of my…

  3. Feature Suggestion for GoodNotes: Color-Based Review/Masking Mode
Subject: Innovative Study Feature: Color-Based Toggle for Hiding/Showing Annotations (Killer Feature for Students)
    1. Background and User Need
I am a long-time user of iPhones and MacBooks, yet I prioritize using the Samsung Galaxy Tab because of its superior writing feel and the ability to instantly annotate PDFs. I am currently preparing for professional exams, which requires intensive review and memorization.

To optimize my study routine, I use a physical method similar to a 'secret pen', where I hide the answers and solutions for efficient self-testing. Implementing this concept into GoodNotes would create a massive…

  4. What was the point of dividing typing and writing. There are so many more apps that are better for writing or typing separately. What I liked about Goodnotes is that it didn’t have the hassle of typing a paragraph, printing it or using a different app to make notes on it. For now I will use Word and Notability. I hope there is a way to fix this otherwise I just wasted my money on goodnoted for nothing.

  6. Feature Request:

    Dear Developers,

I would like to request a built-in image quality enhancement feature for the note-taking app. Imported images often become blurry due to screenshotting or file transfer issues, which affects the reading and viewing experience in notes.

This feature could include (but not be limited to) AI super-resolution technology—capable of sharpening blurry details, reducing pixelation, and improving overall clarity of imported images. It would greatly enhance the usability of the app when managing image-containing notes, especially for users who frequently add screenshots or transferred images.

Thank you for considering this request!

  7. Notion like document editor. On which I can annotate with pencil. Code format text, colored text, checkbox, toggle and much more like in notion. The current text editor is too rigid. It must be made a bit more user friendly.

  8. Notability allows you to drag and drop PowerPoints. To use Goodnotes, I have to open the PowerPoint, export it as a PDF (you must be a Microsoft 365 subscriber to do this), and then import it to Goodnotes. Since all my lectures are PowerPoints, I uses Notability solely because I don't have to open ~15 PowerPoints to export them as PDFs every week.

  9. I use goodnotes without an external keyboard and I found extremely useful the left/right arrow keys to move the cursor when typing because many times it is not easy to place the cursor exactly in the desired position.

    Can you bring them back?

  10. I am left handed and with the undo/redo arrows on the top left corner in Goodnotes 7 I can (and occasionally have) involuntarily touch the buttons. An option for left handed persons to move the buttons on the right top corner would be great

  12. Can we please get a Note Editing Format Reset window when we have text lassoed.

For example; If we lasso a word(s) and the edit options come up, one of the options can be a list of formatting presets to change the formatting of the “type” of text lassoed.

The presets should include formatting for Heading, Sub Heading, Key Term, °2 Key Term, Definition, Key Point, and Examples.

That way all of our note editing is uniformed and streamlined.

If I select the Editing Format Preset for Key Term, the size, font and color of the word would automatically change…

  13. Add a way for users to add new packages to the preambles of the LaTeX used for the AI, sometimes we just want to use a new symbol and can’t make it because the math mode won’t recognize it. It would be really helpful.

  15. As a beta user, I surprisingly find that text mode is available for markdown format. However, when trying to copy what I wrote to other program like obsidian etc, everything ruined. This is a disaster for user who use different software in different platforms!!!!

  16. I would like to see the ability to add a callout to a notebook page. This would be a small colored block on which text could be written or typed with an arrow or other indicator to a point on the page. This would be similar to a GN post-it note, but it would have an arrow associated with it. My thought is that it would be useful for the callout to be low opacity until it is touched, at which time it would have 100% opacity so it can be read, and then when touched again would return to…

  17. I love the app and use it daily across iPad + Windows. But I’m hitting the same wall every single session: there’s no way to save separate, named pen color palettes for different contexts.

    My workflow swings between:

White backgrounds (lecture slides, lab reports) → darker inks

Black backgrounds (my own notes) → lighter/pastel inks

Right now I’m forced to maintain one long presets strip and manually hunt/eyedropper colors each time. It’s slow, error-prone, and breaks focus. After months of this, it’s honestly pretty frustrating because color is a core UX primitive in note-taking.

What I’m asking for (minimum viable…

  19. every time I export my document to a PDF the options are restored to their default values. I should be able to choose these defaults, or at the very least remember my preferences. For example, every time I export I have to deactivate "Enable Handwriting Recognition". One time should be enough!
