Please bring back the 3 color pen option and the eraser on the zoom window bar
GN5 has LESS functionality in the zoom bar...
Going back and forth to the top of the screen is adding a TON of time whenever I just want to switch a pen color for emphasis, or delete a mistake.
I was really hoping the zoom bar in GN5 would have MORE options!
(*There really isn't much reason you couldn't add the ability to duplicate the entire main menu, or select elements we use often).16 votes -

Allow videos to be embedded through drag and drop, like pictures.
It is fairly easy, at least once I learned how, to drag and drop images into good notes. However, as buggy as it is One Note allows you to copy and paste videos. I feel it would be a great addition to GoodNotes if you could drag and drop embedded videos into notebooks.

Mathematical Tools
I am a teacher and i use GoodNotes as a blackboard. So it would be very useful to have a set Square and a pair of compasses visible to the students to show how to construct geometric forms.

Support for Redrawing shapes
I often find that I need to resize a shape I have already drawn and when I erase a portion of the shape and redraw it, the app treats the change as a new shape instead of as an update to an existing shape which results in lines not matching up between the unerased portin of the shape and the new portion. I have attached a pdf that shows the problem.

Pinch and stretch to resize image after lasso - one pressure point to move, two to resize or reorient
Most artistic or note apps allow you to select an image and directly resize it using two fingers to stretch or pinch. In this same way it can also be reoriented or flipped. Much easier than holding pressure and flipping to resize, and a must for resizing boxes when i am noteteaking for school. Thanks!

create user accounts that store our notes/files online instead of relying on iCloud to sync.
I think it would be much easier to sync notebooks across devices if there were user accounts and you just login to the app. That way you could access your files from any computer, tablet, phone, etc, just by logging in.
Files would be stored online through good notes, instead of relying on iCloud syncing or google backups, since i am finding that the iCloud syncing is not reliable.
This would be similar to how you can log into your Google Drive account from any device and see access to all your files if you have an internet connection.

More control on "Zoom window" (carriage return / height)
Allow to choose how much the Zoom window goes down when it returns to the left of the page. Right now it goes down by a multiple of its height. This is not comfortable at all as the line I write into is only a fraction of the Zoom window height.

Drift Mode (auto scroll)
Add a "drift mode" for writing in zoom mode (not in the zoom window). I hat writing in the zoom window. I much prefer to write directly page, however doing so when zoomed in requires me to manually scroll the page. It should move with me as I write, and I should also have a return button at the edge of the page to advance to the next line automatically.

Bring back the ball point pen
I hate using the fountain pen because I want all my writing to look consistent. The fountain pen has places where it's thicker and places where it's thinner and it drives me crazy. The ball point pen was way better because it was consistent. Bring it back!

Typing Feature in Toolbar
Please bring back the typing tool in handwritten documents as a separate button in the toolbar.

[Eraser] Pressure Sensitive Eraser
Add a pressure-sensitive eraser, which allows the user to adjust the pressure level. Feeling different pressures determines whether the eraser function is activated.

Audio Transcription for more iPad models
Please add support for more iPad models for audio transcription, as many students use Goodnotes for note-taking. This feature is very useful, but unfortunately, it only works on several iPad models. Not all students can afford to but a new iPad while the old ones still working!!

HIGHLIGHT SEARCH RESULTS
I would like to be able to Search my document for a word.
Then I would like to be able to click a button and have ALL these instances be HIGHLIGHTED with the HIGHLIGHT tool with one click.Is is possible?

Pen/Highlighter Thickness
Please bring back drawing thickness so that it's not under a dropdown menu. Taking notes is way more streamlined with having the 3 thickness options readily available in the toolbar

Include comments in pdf exports
I regularly use comments to annotate on slides where there is limited space. Would it be possible to include these comments when exporting to pdf format?
This would for instance allow me to review my notes on my pc while making summaries on goodnotes.

Page Lock for Horizontal Movement
One thing that would be great is a way that the page can be locked into place when zoomed in and using vertical scroll.
When I take notes, I use an A4 page and double click to zoom it in and write. But one thing that annoys me so much is sometimes my hand or arm will touch the page and then the page will be shifted to the left or right.
I propose a small lock button that allows you to lock a page in place, from moving left or right, but still keeps the vertical scroll.
