  1. Flattened PDF Export Should Retain Outlines/Bookmarks & Hyperlinks

    I see that outlines and bookmarks are preserved if you select "Editable" in the export options, but I would like these things to be preserved for "Flattened" PDFs too.

    In other words, it would be great if outlines, bookmarks, and hyperlinks would be preserved in exported PDF when the file format is set to “Flattened” in the export options.

    This is because (1) only "Flattened" PDFs include the embedded handwriting recognition layer upon export, and (2) "Flattened" PDFs are significantly smaller (and don't lag in other PDF viewers, like "Editable" PDFs do).

  2. Enable hyperlinks!

    Notability - you drag and drop a url in. You can then click on the link and open in a browser.

    Goodnotes - it just copies plain text from the webpage. Urggh.

  3. rainbow pen

    a multicoloured pen, like varying colour in just one pen. sparkle pens will be awesome too. it will really great for us students who like to have a little bit of creativity and fun with their notes. As you write, the colour changes according to a gradient, eg found in onenote

  5. sync custom colors

    It would be great to sync saved custom colours so that we won't need to make it again after reinstalling app or after installing it on multiple devices.

  6. Shapes and connected arrows

    The shape tool is nice but needs some tweeking/bug fixes

    • shapes should a "first class citizen". Once drawn (or inserted) it should be able to resize, change colour and border thickness. Currently a drawn shape can be scaled and moved but never changed in any other way.
    • sometimes I just want a box but ends up drawing something that isn't 90 degrees in all four corners. I have to undo and redraw and it just kills momentum
    • when I erase hand written text inside a shape and then erase it, I also always erase the background fill.

  7. Searching for a “whole phrase” (example) instead of individual words in a phrase?

    I’m trying to search for multi-word phrases in GoodNotes on my iPad and the search engine appears to be treating each word as an independent search term. Is it possible to search for the entire phrase?

    Example: Searching for “Looking for this phrase” is apparently translated to searching for “Looking” OR “for” OR “this” OR “phrase” instead of using AND’s or using the actual search text, perhaps in “ “‘s?

  9. New brushes -Streamline option PLEASE

    New brushes and allow for the pen to have more options. Specifically streamline. Writing in GoodNotes is disappointing.

  10. Allow to edit PDF outlines

    Currently, there is no way to add new entries to the "PDF Outlines". In principle, I would want to avoid using bookmarks to add "structure" to my documents: IMO, bookmarks should be temporary placeholders, whereas the outline is a more permanent structure of headings and subheadings.

  11. Try to smoothen the handwriting to be as smooth as Noteshelf App

    The writing produced in goodnotes is too choppy and not as smooth as the writing produced in the Noteshelf app. Apart from how good your handwriting is, the resulting curves in each handwriting looks more realistic. Please improve the writings produced in GoodNotes so it results in smoother curves and handwriting.

  12. Add build-in calculator

    Would love to have a built-in calculator when studying my notes. I can't open a calculator while in GoodNotes. I can't open two or more apps at the same time with Ipad. It will be of great help. Thanks.

  13. sub-bullet points

    The new typing mode is super useful to write down large paragraph text input.
    The bullet list/number list are particular important for notes.

    However,
    we will need sub-bullet points and sub-number lists. For example:
    1. background
    a) xxx
    b) zzz
    2. method.

  14. Object actions: quick duplicate, lock, and group

    Quick duplicate: lasso/select object, tap, hold, drag, & release.
    Options for selected objects/elements: add ability to lock object(s) (to prevent erasing or moving) or group multiple objects together.

  15. Save favorite text box styles

    Allow saving my own favorites text box styles. Allow choosing a saved style from a list when creating a text box. Allow changing the style of an existing box to one of my favorites.

  16. math

    Notability now offers an extension that allows the user to convert written math into a digital font (trig functions, integrals, summation, greek alphabet etc.) I think that this would be one of the most utilized features in goodnotes if it were to be added. It is infinitely more appealing and much easier to understand especially for very large problems.

    Please add Duplicate. Otherwise, we are stuck with Copy, then long click to show the Paste menu, then clicking Paste.

  18. Hidden Pages

    Be able to hide pages. ie we have the same meeting every week and do not need to see the notes from weeks ago, but would like to easily reference them if necessary. So you could select to hide the page and not see it in the normal flow of events, but then when you go to the thumbnail view you can select "show hidden pages" to see any notes you took. Similar to how Microsoft office can hide data or text in word/excel docs.

  19. Add ability to return to tab screen from document list screen without opening new document

    When browsing to open a document, it is impossible to return to the tabbed document screen without opening a new document. It would be nice to be able to return to the tabbed document screen without being required to open a new document.
