Integration with the Apple file system (the Files app)
I'd like the Goodnotes file system to be integrated with the Apple file system such that you could access all the .goodnote files in their relevant folders through the Apple files app. An example of a use case for this would be when transferring many pdfs into the app, a simple drag and drop or creation of folders and files in the Files app, would allow you to import many files or move them quickly.

Quick Screenshot copying
At the moment for copying a screenshot, which is something most people do a lot when taking notes, we need to press the screen 4 different times:
Long press after marking with lasso tool => Take Screenshot on the menu => share menu => copy.
It takes a lot of time for something being done pretty a lot and more than the other sharing options so I believe that many people will find it usefull.37 votes -
Fix Annoying Font Issue
I am unable to change the default font. I have a particular font and size preference (19 point Helvetica) but every time I copy-paste text, it automatically goes to 28 points Apple Color Emoji. This could be fixed with a customizable default font and size feature. Also -- when I change the font first, then the size second, the font annoyingly reverts back to Apple Color Emoji again. Somehow changing the font size makes the text revert again back to the undesired default font. It would be a fantastic time-saver if this were fixed.

The new update is so inefficient, you split up the tool bar which takes up more space, and it makes me feel like there's always a visual barrier at the top which is extremely distracting. listen to the feedback from many of the unsatisfied users, and quickly implement a change. Or, have options for some users to try the new update, or revert back to the old version if they don't like it. Pen and Tools Switching
Imagine you already wrote 5 different combinations on the same page. Color, thickness, pen style.
I'm thinking of a "picker" button on the left edge which I can press & hold with my finger. (enabling picker mode until I lift my finger)
When I tap the pen on the document, a zoomed hover-view shows up, I drag onto the pen stroke I want to reuse & lift off both my pen and finger.
Simple & useful.

Thumbnails / Favorites / Outlines / Highlights
It would be nice if there were a way to index all highlights and make the highlights available where one finds Thumbnails / Favorites / Outlines a way to go quickly review and find.
It would be amazing if one could highlight in different colors and group those in the highlight index. Example: Yellow for remembering phrases, blue for additional research/follow-up, etc.

Resizing Freeedom
I would like to see less restrictions with the resizing option of notes/pictures in the app. Firstly, all eight of the resizing nodes behave in the exact same way (with the selected item being resized with the same aspect ratio from the exact center). I think this needs to be swapped out for the ability to distort the image along the x- and y-axis with the appropriate nodes, while keeping the ability to scale it proportionally using the corner nodes. Secondly, I think that the sizing should only occur from the selected node — i.e. not from the center, ever…

Convert from Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to GoodNotes
Please improve the importing of Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint directly into GoodNotes. When I import directly, graphics, equations, etc. don’t convert properly. I still have to import to an external app and convert to PDF before importing to GoodNotes. Thanks!

Insert PDF page into note paper "Not only as separate page"
If I create new note and I want to insert PDF page into that note I'm working on, this function is not available. The only way is to add the PDF page to your notebook as a separate page.
Sometimes, we need to create notes and support that notes with a PDF document.

I sometimes create PDFs that I then fill in with Goodnotes. Having support for importing PDFs with multiple pages as templates would be very useful.

Improve Indention Handling in Zoom Mode
Assume that I move the zoom box to a position in the middle of the page and start writing. When I hit the end of the line or touch enter, I expect the zoom box to jump to the same horizontal position I moved it to earlier and not to the left end end of the page.
I know this can be handled by setting left indention manually. But having this kind of auto-detect left border would be a welcome addition.Short Version:

GoodNotes AI is Unnecessary
The new features feel unnecessary and almost like bloatware. Other LLMs, such as DeepSeek, Gemini, etc are AI tools that other companies, universities, etc have licenses with. The AI credits are also useless - what is the incentive to use GoodNotes AI vs DeepSeek, Gemini, GPT4, etc, if you need to pay $9.99 more per month.
There isn't a way to turn off AI in GoodNotes either, which is pretty frustrating.
A huge motivation for people to switch from Notability to GoodNotes was the better UI and affordability. Paying $9.99/month for AI credits, for a feature I haven't seen many…35 votes
