Add Geo Triangle and Compass Tools for Better Functionality
I would like to suggest adding two new tools: a geo triangle and a compass. These tools would significantly enhance the functionality of the app, particularly for mathematical tasks. A geo triangle would make it easier to draw precise angles and lines, while a compass would allow users to create accurate circles and arcs. Both tools would be invaluable for students and improve their learning experience.
Additionally, I’ve noticed that the lengths on the ruler do not align perfectly with the boxes on the checkered sheets. Fixing this alignment issue would greatly improve accuracy and usability.

Writing on ruler
My handwriting is so messy that I write with a ruler in daily life. I tried it with the ruler on the screen, and it’s not possible.
The words are ‘sucked’ like a magnet to the ruler and automatically draws a line.It would be soooooo nice to be able to have the ruler not be ‘magnetic’ and write on it.
I can’t read my own handwriting without ruler and it looks very very stupid when I’m holding a real life ruler against my ipad screen in meetings…

Ruler (for measurements)
I work as a civil engineer in a paperless office. I have to deal with a lot of construction plans and for me it is important to be able to take measurements from those plans or draw in exact measurements. So I would be very pleased if a ruler, which can be set to a certain scale (e.g. 1:50) could be added to GoodNotes. Currently I have to resort to a pdf-software on my PC, which disrupts the workflow.

Ruler feature
Please add a ruler it is really hard to do geometry exercises without one. Ok you can make the line straight but you can’t measure the distance especially when the line isn’t horizontal or vertical. It is also next to impossible to correctly calculate degrees. Thank you in advance.

A ruler to help draw lines
Is it possible to create a ruler to help draw lines at any angle at controlled length? And to measure the size of an object in the PDF file? I use goodnotes to review civil drawings since confinement. Thanks in advance!

Ability to change ruler opacity
I want to use the ruler for reading documents, so being able to increase ruler opacity would mean I could obscure the text behind the ruler, making it easier to focus on what I’m reading.

Ruler and protractor feature
I am a math teacher and would love the ability to use these tools during my lesson. I generally use GoodNotes to project the pdf version of the math book students work from. But when I have to use manipulative such as a ruler or protractor or fraction pieces I have to go back to my doc cam. I love the ability to move around the room that GoodNotes and iPad has allowed me to do instead of stuck behind my desk using a doc cam.

Ruler position
Remember the last position of the ruler. So if I angle it at 90 degrees and then put it away, when I activate it again it is still vertical or in whatever past position I left it in

Ruler to help write a straight line
Ruler or writing grid that is not really on a page after using the tool would be amazing. Because apples handwriting to text doesnt work with many languages!

Fit Ruler to squared and dotted paper templates
Two dots on the dotted paper templates are a little over 1.1 cm apart on the ruler. It would be great for drawing graphs if they are 1 cm apart, so the templates fit the ruler. The same issue applies to the squared paper.

The ruler cannot be used to measure lengths
The new ruler function would be more helpful if you could also measure lengths with the ruler. Two boxes on the checkered side do not correspond to 1cm on the ruler. Therefore, the ruler can only be used to draw straight lines and unfortunately not to measure lengths.

Adding a ruler to GoodNotes 5 (or future versions)
I've noticed that a lot of people have already asked for this, but those might land on having the need for more information.
I'd like to see a feature like this added, because the predictions are wrong so often! I pull a line which I want to be straight, may have wiggled slightly and GN5 in some cases recognises it as a curve.
A ruler in GN5 would also just help you with sketching up stuff real quick, like a sheet or so without having the need to either import your own paper that has this or rely on the…

Ruler to indicate size of page
There is currently no indication of the size of the page I’m editing, which makes it very difficult to change the template without going through an annoying trial-and-error dance to make the page size match the existing page size.
I’d really like a switch to show ruler markings on the edges of the page to check the page size and, if possible, an indication of the current page size (letter, A6, etc)

Add a ruler and/or a virtual protractor
Why not add a ruler and/or a virtual protractor to GoodNotes, it would be so much more practical to do graphs, draw vectors etc... because at the moment there is no precise tool.
(For example, there is a virtual rule on the Notes app on iOS).PS : A compass could also be useful but less important than the rule and the protractor which are ESSENTIAL!

Add Predefined Angles for the Ruler
When you often use the Ruler, you may struggle with the Possibility to adjust the angle of the Ruler. It would be a tremendous feature when you hold the button for Angle and it shows you a list for some values(0°,15°,30°,45°,60°,75°,90°) and has the option to add some customs)
