Improve shape support
I heard about Goodnotes from Samuel Suresh, and one of the things that impressed me was the ability to quickly create digital designs that combine handwriting and solid backgrounds that would be much more difficult by hand. Here is an example video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mHPO69egAcA. Thing is, Goodnotes has abysmal shape support. Every application I’ve ever used that has shape support you can change the fill and usually stroke color. Not Goodnotes.
To the GoodNotes Team: Is improved shape support on the future roadmap? Take Freeform: You can quickly add zillions of shapes which are fully customizable. You don’t need to…

A more flexible lock screen option in presentation mode.
This was addressed partially in:
But the solution is incomplete.
The options in presenter mode are:
Mirror Entire Screen (can only imagine using this if I was teaching how to use good notes).
Mirror Presenter Page - This allows for zooming in, but often leads to some weird scrolling when you've zoomed in on one portion and then bring up the interface box (not sure of its name) and everything scrolls to where the interface box is.
Mirror Full Page - This is pretty good. Especially if your page and presentation are both in landscape mode. BUT it is…

Notes taking for Engineering students / professionals
Being an engineering professional this apps is not very conversant in taking Engg notes. It is requested to incorporate following.
1. Either allow to paste tables from excel sheets which should be editable or develop a tool to create table easily.
2. Allow to embed word file into Goodnotes. Also allow subscripts and superscripts like that in word.
3. Develop or create symbols to insert scientific, maths, geometry, Greek small
& capital.
4. Also insert function .
5. Most important while writing maths formulae it should be very easy and smooth. At present most of the time Goodnotes do not…3 votes -
Keep “Return to Previous Page” Button Visible for Multiple Pages
Currently, when jumping to a different page, the “Return to Previous Page” button disappears after scrolling about half a page forward.
Often, when studying, I follow references in the text by using Goodnotes’ internal links to jump to a previous page. However, if the referenced content spans multiple pages, I need to read through those pages before returning. By the time I finish reading and attempt to go back, the “Return to Previous Page” button has already disappeared, making navigation inconvenient.

Alternatively, a different approach, like Kindle’s system of keeping multiple jump history records, would be even…

Consider supporting devices like phones (with at least a built-in pen) too!
I see you now have Android Beta. However, you only wish to support 8-inch tablets or larger. What about people like me who use note phone for my daily studies? I write my notes on my phone and use other apps. I consider my Samsung Note 10+ a reliable note-taking app. It would be lovely if you consider also consider other note phone devices too as we also use a pen anyway and are used the size of our screens. Thanks!

in Business Basics of Project Management needs to be used. This should be implemented like
1. embedding files formates like excel, video, tone, and some others
2. timestambs for each note (Date and Time) choosable
3. usage off Apples Apps Reminder and Calendar
4. Fileviewer for different formats
5. really ToDo list with all necessary functionality (not as a PDF Template)
6. delegation with @ sign
7. Possiblity to structur a text like Numbering, intent text, etc
8. Embedding Mindmap tools

Keep Camera Settings
Hi Goodnotes Team,
As an architect, I take a lot of measurements on construction sites with GoodNotes and my iPad.
I take a lot of photos for the measurements, which I then label with GoodNotes.
Unfortunately, I have to reset the desired camera settings for each photo, e.g. flash on or zoom setting of the camera.
It would be nice if there was an option to save the last camera settings.

What if the app doesn't crash before an exam??? or what if it doesn't crash at all. IDK just a suggestion
1 voteThanks for your suggestion!
At the moment, there isn’t enough detail for us to clearly understand what you’re proposing, which makes it difficult to take action on your idea.
Tips to make your suggestion visible and bring your idea to life:
- Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
- Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
- Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.

4 Tabs loaded at the same time / Let Goodnotes use more RAM
Hello,
I´m one of the new M1 Ipad Pro user´s and the new Ipad has 8GB of Ram (or 16) and the goodnotes app still can´t have 4 tabs loaded at the same time.If I have 3 Tabs open I can swap between them without them loading again but if I open a fourth tab every other tab needs to reload again and that shouldn´t be the case since the new Ipad has way more RAM and so goodnotes should make us of that

Patch Tool
I like how the patch tool works in Photoshop, and I think it would be useful in GoodNotes too. I would use it to edit diagrams and remove parts, such as labels, that I do not want. Here is an example of how the patch tool works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II4lfxoNrJ8
Even though the patch tool is commonly used to edit photographs, it can definitely be used for editing illustrations too. I have used the patch tool in Photoshop before, and I started seeing the need for it again as I was trying to prepare diagrams for GoodNotes. I feel that it would…2 votes -
Link Sharing and editing not working correctly
As we can read here: https://support.goodnotes.com/hc/en-us/articles/7445581406095-Share-notebooks-between-iOS-and-other-platforms#share-notebooks-between-ios-and-other-platforms-0-0 the complete synchronisation between iOS App and Web Apps is not possible yet, but Link Sharing and editing should be working.
I just was testing the Link Sharing and editing option. The Sharing Option works, but the editing option does not synchronize between iOS App and WebApp.Steps to reproduce:
1. Create Notebook on iOS App.
2. Create Share Link for that notebook in iOS App.
3. Open Link in Browser or Windows App.
4. Edit in Browser or Windows App.
5. Wait for Status "Synchronised" in Windows App.
6. Wait for Synchronisation in…2 votes -

I whish there are two options in tool bar settings +bug report
so that we can use two options-one like prior goodnotes 4, less useing upper space, but little pen options made up of those we use oftern. The other the tool bar just like nowadays.
The bug I think is abut device storage. When I write on my document(automatic backup in ondrive on, no icloud) and check available ipad storage in file app, from 300MB to 1 GB of available storage decreases and this storage does not return. The size of the document is 8MB. This happens only after using goodnotes in my device.(I haven't checked in other devices yet) This…

Improve text for people with reading disabilities
Hopefully, this is something simple but basically bold the first half of a word as seen in the Bionic Reading example: https://bionic-reading.com
This helps reading drastically.

Changing Color when typing
when typing notes, I use different colors to signify different things, but I consistently have an issue where when I click to change the color the command is just ingnored. I have to either close the document or shut down the whole app. It’s very frustrating and I’m doing school work for 8+ hours a day and can’t handwrite it all. recently it’s also started just randomly changing the color or even the font size a couple of times while I’m typing. I know that Goodnotes is primarily for handwriting, but it’s the app I prefer for note taking and…

highlighter function that allows you to embed notes within the text
There’s an extension on google chrome that allows you to add notes to highlighted text. Once the note is added, it’s hidden but you can access it again by clicking on the highlighted text or going to your dashboard.
