  1. I need to be able to swipe through the flashcards IN THE EDITOR. I do NOT want to go back to thumbnail view, click on the next card, check if it has an error, go back to thumbnail view, swipe down, click the next card, remember which card I just opened, etc! I don’t want to do this to add a new flashcard either!!!!!

  2. The floating record numbers are extremely distracting and take up valuable space. Please revert it back to how it looked in Goodnotes 6 - a small unobtrusive icon on the toolbar.

  4. Since the new goodnotes (7) update, I always go back to latest tool I was using before the eraser, especially to the lasso tool, I do not want it, I want to be able to go back to pencil mode after the eraser again.

  5. Ever since the new update to Goodnotes 7, the shape tool is a lot less flexible and very strict and jerky when drawing shapes, and is very frustrating to work with. The previous version was much more user friendly and I have no idea why anyone thought messing with something that was working just fine was a good idea. Please change it back to the previous version or at least provide a toggle so we can choose which version we want to use instead of forcing this downgrade on everyone. Thanks!

  7. The comment pop-up should be resizeable like in Adobe Acrobat.. Also I'd like to be able to add pictures in the comments to make my notes decluttered. And the text should be editable (like in the regular ...bullet points, bold etc)

  8. Fix Goodnotes Storage Management – This Is a Technical Disaster

Goodnotes’ storage architecture is fundamentally broken. My actual library size is ~6 GB, yet the app is bloated to 27 GB on-device. This clearly indicates severe issues with cache invalidation, temporary file persistence, and orphaned/ghost data retention.

Instead of performing routine garbage collection and data compaction, Goodnotes seems to endlessly accumulate redundant assets (thumbnails, partial syncs, stale caches). This is textbook storage leakage — exactly what happens when an app doesn’t properly implement lifecycle management for its local data.

For an app marketed as a professional-grade productivity tool, this level…

  9. Hello,

Thank you for your great app.

I would like to suggest a feature that could improve the user experience.

Currently, Goodnotes displays documents in a single-page view. It would be very helpful to have an option for a two-page spread (double-page view), similar to reading a physical book.

Additionally, it would be very useful to view two pages side-by-side or work in a dual-page (split) mode while taking notes.

This feature would greatly improve studying efficiency and overall usability.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  10. Goodnotes has become more cumbersome and slower with the latest update. I now need two clicks to switch between pens and the laser pointer. When I have images, there is now always a white border at the top of the projection, and I first have to switch to read-only mode to display the image in full screen.
The fold-out toolbox also takes up space on the screen.
Adding to favorites also requires one more click.
The updates have only increased the amount of work involved and represent a deterioration. On the other hand, I don't need AI or sound recordings.…

  11. I think a layer feature would be incredibly useful for learning. With layers, I could organize content much more effectively: for example, I could draw or write something on one layer and place the explanation on a separate layer underneath.

From a learning perspective, this would be especially helpful because I could first work with the top layer on my own and then reveal the lower layer afterward to check the explanation or solution. That would make the learning process much more interactive and structured.

I have seen a similar function in Free Note, where you can use different layers…

  14. Thank you for making it available to lock images, sticky notes
shapes, and textboxes. Please make it available for handwritten notes, elements, arrows, connectors cannot be locked. Furthermore, it would be awesome if you could also group and lock images, sticky notes, shapes, textbooks, handwritten notes, elements, and connectors together.

  15. Please add a public API and developer resources so files can be automatically imported and organized into folders by class, week, and lecture. Better automation support would make Goodnotes much more powerful for students and developers building academic workflows.

  17. When using GoodNotes in split-screen mode, I record audio on one side so I can listen to it later, while studying for a test on the other side. However, if I close the screen I’m studying on, the recording disappears. The same thing happens when I try to open a different document on the study side — the recording stops and disappears.

This feature worked fine before the update and also in GoodNotes 5, so I really want this issue fixed immediately. It’s seriously affecting my test preparation, and I’m having a lot of trouble because of it. Please fix…

  18. There are two view modes in Goodnotes:

    1. File navigation
    2. Documents tabs (the documents already open)

We can switch from 2 to 1.

But for some baffling reason there is no way to simply switch from 1 to 2. Instead there is only the contrived way of having to open any file in order to return to 2.

I do not know why Goodnote's UI/UX team has been thinking all these years that that be an okay solution. No other programme does this and it is counterintuitive.

Could you please add this? It's so easy to do. E.g. you could add…

  19. It'd be very useful to be able to change the thickness of writing after I have already written something. I often forget to change the thickness when I write and when I go back to edit. Just expanding the written text is NOT the same and makes it very difficult. Often, I have to delete the text and rewrite it, which wastes a lot of time. I have a friend who complains about it too, so it's good to know it's not just me. But please... I need this.

  20. please update study sets
i use it a lot for studying but it’s so difficult to use, for example:

    • currently you cannot press the apple pencil barrel to automatically turn to eraser (!!!!)
    • when zooming into top left corner, you cannot write because the undo button blocks it
    • add template options - currently it’s only a blank card, it would be better if there were lines to write on (!!!!)
    • allow copy and pasting individual flashcards
    • study sets are so laggy and most of the time when i make a new flashcards and write on it, it does not show…
