I found an issue where custom fonts installed on iOS (e.g., via the Bakey font app) do not appear in the font list when Goodnotes 6 uses the new Whiteboard-enabled UI.
Here are the details:
✔ Old UI (no Whiteboard option)
“New note” menu does not show the Whiteboard button
Font toolbar is in the top ribbon
Custom fonts appear normally
✔ New UI (with Whiteboard — released around Sep 25, 2025)
“New note” menu includes a Whiteboard button
Font toolbar becomes a floating popup near the text box
Custom fonts do NOT appear in the font picker

Add Inline Drawing Support to Text Doc for Seamless Visual Note-Taking
ext Doc is great for writing thanks to its clean block structure and keyboard-friendly design. However, one thing that would make it even more powerful is the ability to add inline drawing areas—similar to how Apple Notes lets you sketch directly within your notes and resize the drawing space as needed.
When I'm taking notes during meetings or documenting ideas, I often need to quickly sketch diagrams or jot down visual thoughts alongside the text. Apple Pencil Pro
When using the Squeeze feature on Apple Pencil Pro, adding a feature that lets you “scroll” through your saved preset colors the same way we can scroll through the tools would be useful, instead of only having access to the first 3 colors.

edit imported pdf
It would be great if you can edit imported pdfs directly in the app. Ex. if professors have mistake on slides it would be nice to be able to erase it rather than just scribbling on it, which just makes it look messy and takes up space on page unnecessarily

Setup Logitech Creative Console for Goodnotes
Logitech Creative Console is a device that is programmable for navigating apps i.e. Adobe, Photoshop, Zoom etc. However there isn't an available template for Goodnotes, it can be programmed by each individual user, however it would be fantastic if one were available for all Goodnotes users.

Adding new node or handle to existing shape
When drawing shapes goodnotes creates nodes or handles to allow you to adjust the shape, however you cannot then add a new node/handle to the shape.
For example, if I draw a triangle, and then want to change it to a 4 sided shape, I have to delete the shape and redraw.
When drawing complex shapes, this is time consuming and frustrating.
Please can you add the option to add new nodes (or handles) to existing shapes?2 votes -
Bring back Command-"-"/Command-"+" for changing text size
Why did you remove this in favor of zooming. I want to be able to change the Paragraph Style (Heading 1, Heading 2... Body, Caption) using the keyboard. This is an important feature for taking notes using the keyboard, while not constantly tapping around on screen.

Edit font size for written and drawn things
We should be able to edit the size of written text and drawn shapes that have already been created. I don’t mean like how it is now. That’s great too. But, for example, after adding a shape, you can adjust the width. We would like that for everything drawn, that’d be great. I have adhd and i like to make things extra pop by making some words thicker than the rest and i used the change in text size for organization. Well… I often get locked in and forget to change the pen size. Ultimately forcing me to erase and…

tape over photo
When I use the tape over photos in my notes, the photo always gets selected instead of the tape when I try to edit. Or when I'm using the tape as flash cards to cover information, I can never tap the tape properly because the photo is automatically selected first. I think when you choose to "lock photo", it should also mean that the photo isnt selected when u tap over it when people are trying to write or use tape or other tools over the photo.

Presantation mode splitscreen same document
If you want to open two pages of the same document using presentation mode (but only one page is to be projected), the new procedure is very cumbersome. I would like to see the old function returned: you open the page overview and simply drag the desired page to the other side of the screen. This would save time in class.

Toolbar colour
Please add optional UI customization for the iPad app, especially toolbar color and contrast controls. I would like a cleaner, less harsh toolbar and the ability to adjust visual emphasis, button size, and layout so the app feels more usable without changing the core Goodnotes experience.

Pin handwriting/drawing
I love that the text tool can now be pinned and it doesn't rest every time!!! however what is very annoying is when you are annotating your text notes and the palm of your hand triggers the text you are drawing on. By having a pin text button this could mean annotating text without triggering the text box

Mirror sketch
Everyone wants to mirror images, but what would be awesome is if you had any sketch and to be able to mirror its entirety to give symmetrical conduct, it saves not only time and energy but is also efficient and widely used in sketches.

Lock the pencil toolbar in place
I would like to have the option to have the pencil bar, that opens while I am using the pen tool, always in place. So that it stays when using the lasso for example.
That way I would save a step because I rarely need the same pen/eraser I used before the lasso. Also it is really distracting when there regularly is the movement of it popping up and going away in my screen5 votes -

The pen settings panel takes up too much screen space.
When adjusting pen settings, it seems to occupy a large portion of the display. Also, I’m not sure why tools like fountain pen, ballpoint pen, and brush pen are separated from the pencil, since they all fall under pen types. It would be better to include the pencil within the pen category and simplify the UI—similar to Samsung Notes or other note-taking apps—by allowing users to select pen types within a single pen tool. Pen-related settings could be placed under an options icon to save space.
Additionally, the animations for pen options (such as flatness, pressure sensitivity, and tip sharpness)…

Eraser that rubs off pen(like writings) ON the tape
As an a level student, found tape feature very useful, but its very annoying when you right over the tape(I study by hiding key words in notes by using tape, and fill them by pen) and try to rub off the pen on the tape, there is no feature for that.
There is a feature for removing highlighters or tapes, but not specifically pen on the tape, hope it changes, as it makes studies less efficient.
