Pencil just for headings
It would be very convenient to have a pencil that just exist to write down headlines. I often use one strength of the three options just for headlines so one could expand functionality by implementing more features to this and specify one pen(strength) just to headlines. One feature suggestion might be to automatically add a page on which a headline was written to the outline. The headline itself can then be used as the outline entry's description by using the handwriting recognition software.

Automatic Heading Generator Based On Inserted Document's Title
I get note templates and homework packets by lessons for classes, and I like to keep all the material of the same category in the same document by inserting the new lesson notes or the homework at the end of the document. It is a hustle to scroll to the first page of the new note template/ homework (when they are multi-paged documents) to add then add it to the outline. Having the first page automatically added to the outline with the new document's name as the heading would be really helpful!

Comments organization features
I often organize, review, and make comments on multiple large documents that I have imported to Goodnotes. The new comments feature is a great addition, but its value is limited for my use because the pages with comments are not flagged in any way, nor am I able to view all comments. I am forced to either bookmark any page with a comment or add those pages to pdf outlines, which is redundant and crowds up the outlines and favorites.
It would be very useful if all comments in a document could be viewed collectively in an outline…

Separate section of highlighted text
Whenever I read a book or document I highlight texts ,please add a separate section like outline for each document where highlighted texts are mentioned and way to export these highlighted content in flash cards format.This will help many students .

Convert
The current convert feature (handwriting to text) requires me to manually select the text from the pop-up. Can you please make it so that I can directly “copy as text” (similar to Apple notes)? This would be so much more convenient since I often send snippets of my notes to my friends via chat (in text format) and also I sometimes want my handwritten title as an outline, so I need to get the text.

Last update... a complete mess, can we get a downgrade to the old version
Since the last update, I'm honestly thinking of quitting goodnotes after 6 years of use.
The new lasso tool has a lot of glitch, and there is not the possibility to remove the Smart Alignment between handwritten text and figures.
The new figure tool doesn't admit figures without outlines like in the older version, and this was a great feature. It also can't draw proper lines or figures.
The new toolbar is so messy, the important icons are less accessible, and it can't really be personalized.So please give us back the old version with some improvement such as…

Add back ability to click on page to minimize side-bar to see results
Used to be able to search or open “table of contents / outline” and then when you clicked on your selection in the sidebar or on the page the sidebar would be minimized / in the background. The first pic the sidebar is open and to visualize the entire page you now have to tap on the search/table on contents icon at the top to minimize and see the entire page. Allow text and highlight/writing on flashcards
The flashcard function could use a lot of improvement. First I copied text from my course notes but then wasn't able to even bold or underline text. I also couldn't use my pen to highlight it. Now the text is all just a blob of words instead of allowing me to indicate important words. Also being able to go back and forth between flashcards and not have to go to the outline every time would be helpful.

Two colours in one pen
It would be neat to have a blend of two colours in one pen. Meaning, if I wanted to have lime green on a white background, I could have the option to outline the lime green with another colour of my choosing. Similar idea to the photo I've added, but the ability to write in a pen instead of typed, and for the colours to somewhat blend into one another instead of it looking like a harsh line.

Please bring back our peaceful everyday lives!!! Why the latest update is so bad.
I’ve been using Goodnotes every single day for years. I truly appreciated its clean interface and powerful features that supported my workflow. But the most recent update has drastically changed that, in all the wrong ways.
I kept telling myself, “This update must be useful. I just need to give it time and get used to it.”
So I patiently tried using it for several days, but in the end, I came to the conclusion that this update is harming my mental well-being.Let me outline a few reasons why this update has made the experience worse:

Quick access to all pages marked as favourites
Before the latest update there was the option to access an overview of all pages I marked as favourite pages after clicking on the „four rectangle“ buttom at the top left hand corner.
There the first tab displayed the overview of all pages and THE SECOND TAB displayed the option to quickly access all my marked favourite pages.
Now the second tab is the document outline (which was the third one before) and the third now is an overview of audio files. I almost never need audio files but I need the quick access of ALL my favourites sometimes just…

PAGE NAMES
Please allow page naming. In larger documents it’s so hard to navigate and the outline feature is useless because it can’t be re-ordered. The only way I currently know of is to export to Acrobat, re-order the pages and bring back into Goodnotes but then any annotations are flattened and text becomes uneditable.

Keep page title thumbnails and outlines during export (and reimport)
Exported out a file to resize pages but when imported back, GN remembered the marked pages with page numbers under outlines, but didn’t keep the page titles under thumbnails. Had to do 500 pages all over again.

allow bigger font sizes and readability in the text document file
Firstly, i would like to say im working with goodnotes 6, and a macbook air
the text document is a new feature which I understand but at the moment ive no idea why its pushed to production. the text size is so small and doesnt work when i try to make it bigger, i cant change the font size. Change Pages to the Top
The page preview thumbnails are so small you can't really make out details, and the size of the thumbnails or the sidebar can't be customized. That makes it hard enough to navigate a notebook if you don't have an outline structure in place as it is, then then changing pages when you're in a zoomed in view kicks you over to the selected page at the center of the destination page.
It gets annoying having to manually scroll up to verify the page title each time you move throughout the contents of a notebook.

Link a PDF page to a Handwritten Note
Imagine that you are taking notes out of a 1500 pages PDF and you don’t want to go back and forth between outlined pages. You could simply make a link to that page and paste it over one/more of your notebook/s.
I have this issue because i work with european laws and every manual has a lot of pages. Sometimes instead of writing down an infinite law I prefer to go check it out instantly instead of searching manually or using multitasking in GoodNotes.

Update Idea: Hide Pages Instead of Deleting Them
Currently, GoodNotes does not offer a way to temporarily hide pages without deleting them. Users who want to remove certain pages from view must delete them permanently. This lack of flexibility makes it harder to structure notes effectively and increases the risk of accidental data loss. Enable users to hide pages temporarily without deleting them, providing an intuitive and visually clear way to manage hidden pages.
How It Would Work
• A new “Hide Page” option would be added to the same menu as “Delete Page.”

Folder overview / hierarchy (like Noteful, Onenote etc.) PLEASE
There’s one thing that really limits my productivity: the folder navigation. It’s currently very time-consuming and confusing to navigate between nested folders or PDFs.
You always have to click multiple times to move between documents if they are stored in different subfolders. This becomes extremely inefficient, especially when managing complex hierarchies (like for studies or work).
Please take a look at Noteful or OneNote — they have an excellent folder overview / hierarchy structure that shows all folders and subfolders clearly on one screen (like a sidebar or tab structure).
