1. Suggested Feature: Integrated Calculator and Scratch Paper

   Hello Goodnotes Team,

   I’d love to suggest a feature that could make Goodnotes even more useful, especially for students and professionals:

   1. Integrated Calculator

   • A calculator that can be freely moved anywhere on the screen, so it’s always available right where you need it.

     • It can be collapsed into a small icon and expanded again at any time, so it never gets in the way of note-taking.
     • Beyond basic arithmetic, it would be very helpful if the calculator could handle functions such as x², √, fractions, and potentially even simple scientific functions (like sin, cos, log).
     • This would make Goodnotes a strong companion for university classes, exams, and professional work where quick calculations are needed without switching apps.

   1. Scratch Paper

   • A movable, flexible scratch area for quick notes or side calculations.

   • Ideal for jotting down temporary ideas, brainstorming, or making to-do lists without cluttering the main document.

   • Notes could be written with both pen and keyboard.

   • Items could be crossed out as tasks are completed—helpful during exams, problem-solving, or project work.

   1. Lockable Text Boxes

   • A lock feature that fixes a text box in place.

   • The text can still be edited, but the box itself can no longer be accidentally moved.

   I also created a sketch of the idea to better illustrate how this could look in practice.

   Thank you for considering this suggestion—I believe these tools would make Goodnotes even more versatile and efficient for everyday use.

3. Full Page Typing mode

   In one of the last Updates the full page typing mode was removed and now you have to hold down the add textbox button and do 3 more extra steps. Please bring back the old option where you could just click in the nav-bar the option for keyboards and start working. Again this is now just extra complicated and all in all a downgrade. Writing this on Oktober 10th with the newest goodnotes and ios updates btw

5. Same range of colours to be used for drawing shapes as drawing with the pen/pencil like it used to be

   The same way it was before the most recent update, as it’s easier when needing to draw straight line shapes with the same colours used for writing/drawing as it’s far more convenient than copying and pasting the colour code

7. Drop down arrow for the rest of our Pen colors

   have our 4 favorite pen colors then next to it have a drop-down arrow (just like the arrow for hidden tools) with the rest of our color palettes. That way we won’t have to constantly scroll back and forth to change our stroke settings and so we won’t have limited colors options / only 12 of our favorite pen colors

8. Vertices/ points for shapes

   Previously I could easily edit the points/vertices of the shape….. with the new update, it is much inconvenient to edit the points. Please bring it back… it is easily to teach triangle area if I could easily shift the vertex

9. Support for STEM Students (LaTex, Codeblocks, Circuit blocks)

   I know a lot of engineering students that use this app, but have to use many other apps as well to take coding, circuit or higher level math classes. I use https://www.stempad.com/editor but would rather use GoodNotes6 because of all your other great features. The code and circuit block don't even need to be functional, just formatted like code and maybe helps you code like VS Code based on the language. It just takes a lot of time going back and forth between apps.

10. Standardschrift

    Die Standardschrift soll für ein Dokument einstellbar sein (wie bei der alten Version)

    Es ist unglaublich mühsam, bei jedem neuen Text Feld öffnen: Schriftgrösse, Fett oder nicht, Schriftfarb etc. einzustellen.

11. Capabilities for Andorid and Windows

    It would be nice if Android and Windows finally got the same capabilities as Apple. Adding new fonts, uploading stickers, and many other things unfortunately don't work at all. This has been a known issue for years.

13. allow bigger font sizes and readability in the text document file

    Firstly, i would like to say im working with goodnotes 6, and a macbook air

    1. the text document is a new feature which I understand but at the moment ive no idea why its pushed to production. the text size is so small and doesnt work when i try to make it bigger, i cant change the font size. Allow us to change the font size of paragraphs because now it's so small im basically straining to see

    2. allow me to copy and paste vcscode code into the code block. ive no idea why i have to retype everything in when i can just copy and paste but it does not work at all.

    3. allow nested bullet points. there are many instances i would need a nested bullet points but atm goodnotes do not have any. i like the way notion made their notetaking website, but since i paid for goodnotes, i would like to use it to keep all my notes, especially because i need the collab feature

    4. allow light and dark mode switching. my macbook system is in dark mode but i specifically switch it to light just so i can see my text document in light, there should be a feature to allow us to switch to light without switching the system feature

    there are so many other things goodnotes can improve on but for now this is just the text document.

14. More options for audio recording PLEASE

    Ok, for this, the existing features are: skip 10 sec, sidebar, transcribe, live(recorded) edit

    I just want more features: export audio, and fast forward with options (x2, x3, x.5, etc)

16. Request for Chinese Support in Audio Transcription Feature

    I recently learned about your experimental Audio Transcription feature, and I think it is an excellent tool for enhancing productivity and learning. However, I noticed that it currently does not support Chinese transcription. As a Chinese-speaking user, I believe adding Chinese support would significantly improve the accessibility and usability of this feature for a broader audience.

    For users like me, who frequently study in a multilingual environment, having Chinese transcription is essential. Many of my lectures, discussions, and study materials are conducted in Chinese, and the lack of this capability limits my ability to make full use of GoodNotes. Adding this feature would not only streamline my note-taking process but also help me retain and organize information more effectively, which is crucial for my studies.

17. Whiteboard Connectors for Sticky Notes

    Ability to connect sticky notes with connectors to enable true mindmapping experience.
    Currently it's available only for shapes, which allows building quick diagrams and flowcharts. But it's not powerfull and flexible enough for true mindmapping, which requires sticky notes and content that they store.
    Apps like Miro, Apple Freeform have this feature, for example.

19. move undo redo arrows to top right corner

    I am left handed and with the undo/redo arrows on the top left corner in Goodnotes 7 I can (and occasionally have) involuntarily touch the buttons. An option for left handed persons to move the buttons on the right top corner would be great

20. About the new update, some old “move” can’t be use anymore which is annoying

    1. the drawing straight line correction, Maybe I draw a box but I sometimes I don’t need it to be too big, after update u fixed a minimum size which is not even useful, so as draw small triangle it minimum size is an isosceles triangle which I was only try to draw a better look, Delta for maths……
    2. Same problem to Arrow which is a triangle, I know you add new thing to show arrow but u should try try yourself I think it still need more update to be user funny, like I can’t even change to arrow’s aim if I\there is a box so close to which I pointing it fix me to that box which I don’t even want, and if I self redirect it, it is not allowed ….
    3. After draw a box , u now fix it to be a table form which if I add hand writing into the box the join together, and it is stupid enough I cant use Rubber to remove unless I Idrop it out of the box first …..how helpful is this…zzz
    4. Before I can save any handwrite to be sticker but I find now …stupid ….the handwrite write after put in a table can’t save as sticker……

    I like you guys re updating the Goodnotes to be come better, but can you not removing a lot of useful things every update
