1. single tap to open a link

   Currently you have to long press a link, then choose open link from a menu. This is very time consuming, especially if you are using a daily planner template. yes, you can put the app into "view mode" then it will work in single tap. but that is also time consuming. Please give us the open to single tap in the edit mode. You may be saying "but a single tap will appear as though it's the user trying to write with the pen tool". Well, you could do a little gesture recognition and determine if it's a finger or a pen. If a finger, treat it as a "click" on the link. You can make this an option in settings as power users will want to tap on links with their fingers when using digital planner PDFs like the ones sold on on planners dot com

2. Auto advance shortcut

   Currently enabling or disabling auto advance requires 4 'clicks': 1. the 'three dots' menu button 2. document editing 3. enabling/disabling auto advance 4. closing the menu window.

   As someone who frequently switches between marking up documents (where I don't use auto advance) and my own notebooks (where I do use auto advance), it can be annoying to have to go through this process tens of times per day.

   It would be nice if there was a shortcut, or if one could optionally pin the auto advance option to the toolbar.

3. Shape editing tools

   Hello guys, I've been using both notability and goodnotes for over almost 2 years now and latelly notabilitu has been pulling appart, but over notability, gn still has the versatility of the app, but theres a tool that i use everysingle day and that it is soooo much better on notability than on goodnotes, thats not even fair.. it’s the hold to snap / auto shape tool. I know we already have the snap to other shapes feature, but that is basically useless unless you’re using straight lines.. I would like for you to implement some kind of powerfull shape edition after snaping it, - like creating 3 or 5 points across a curve so i can edit the radius, shape, lenght of the curve - the ability to change the radius and to snap the center of a circle into someting.. - the ability to make all shapes and lines “talk” with each other in the same page being able to connect those dots inside a shape or line with others - basically it would all come to the points in wich a shape/line is divided, so i can play with those points between circles and curves and arrows and so on, check how the pink lines are always trying to make the circle centered with something or with the top of the circle straight with another point. And when i move a point of the circle, it only grows from that point and not from the center, wich is also pretty usefull as the center is the least used reference.. i can replicate in video if you want, but ill show you a few examples in notability. i think it is the most usefull thing from notability

4. split screen feature update

   The new split screen feature on an ipad is very annoying and difficult to use since the update. As I am using one side of my screen to see powerpoints and articles, and using the others to write notes on, it constantly changes sizes and makes me toggle back and forth and has been very frustrating to use. Please change it back to the 3 dots at the top and make it easier for all students to easily take notes.

5. Text Box

   Text Box for MacOS another fix.

   The mouse coursor on MacOS doesn't change when hovering over the dot to resize the text box. So you have no indication if you are resizing or not. it continues to show the insert text cursor.

6. Too many ‘click’ or steps to convert text.

   It takes too many steps to convert handwriting.

   1; circle /select handwriting
   2: tap circle, hope the menu comes up
   3: tap the 3 dots button
   4: tap convert
   5: tap text
   6: tap convert again
   7: change font because the default settings don’t apply to converted text

   Should be 2 steps
   1: circle/select handwriting
   2: tap a convert button

   If it makes a mistake, you’d have to edit it anyway. So the pop up is redundant.

   I know this is possible because your code is already ‘converting’ the handwriting in order to be able to spellcheck and search handwritten stuff. It’s tooooooo many steps.

7. Toggle for "Hold to Zoom"

   It would be nice to have the option to disable hold to zoom as this will often pop up when I am writing any dots, periods, or multiplication signs (I like to make them fairly visible).
   I'm fairly sure Notability has this, so it would be nice to have this option in this app as well.

8. Make lasso selection faster

   Over the last several updates the lasso tool has gotten a delay when you try to select something. It happens when you select something with a small lasso area. Larger lasso areas do not create this delay. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it's made the lasso tool much less user friendly.

   Here are some steps to reproduce the issue.
   1. Create a line or dot with the highlighter tool
   2. Select the lasso tool (either regular or rectangular) and select the highlighted dot using a small circle
   3. Note that the dot is not selected for up to half a second while the lasso tool pauses

9. macOS sidecar with iOS + pencil pointers

   using sidecar to draw in the macOS version from iPad. I notice it uses the default pointer all the time. I wonder if it could be change to something more meaningful eg when drawing use a dot.

10. You can change the location of the fork number of the closed file.

    When opening only one file, the location of the closed file and the location of the three dots on the split screen on the iPad are too close to each other, so it is easy to click wrong!

11. Enhancing renaming user experience

    Renaming notes while it's open became an issue after the last iPad OS update. Most of the time it opens multiple tab-opening options. It will be great if GoodNotes align their renaming option a bit far from those three horizontal dots.

12. Move the document name down arrow

    Three dots on top of the screen for split view prevent the user from pressing the down ( v ) arrow on the right of the document name when the name is short. Please move the arrow or resize the touchbox for the arrow.

    can you make it 4 dots have have the text fit to the size of the box much like canva. it's so exhausting having to adjjust the size the the scroll tool everytime-- especially if you type notes

14. Highlighter and pen presets

    Instead of tapping the highlighter (or pen) and then changing the thickness and then changing the color, it would be convenient to have multiple highlighter and pen presets in the toolbar. Settings could be switched with a single tap.

    To make room for these extra buttons, the thickness and color items could be collapsed to a drop-down menu for each property with the current thickness and color displayed. (The settings of the active highlighter or pen could be changed via these controls, while a long-tap on the highlighter or pen would still present the existing pop-up menus.)

    The attached images show a rough mock-up of a possible arrangement with a highlighter and a pen selected. The Bluetooth icon could indicate the currently selected highlighter or pen (or a simple dot if the Apple Pencil is not used) along with a lighter background (not shown in the images).

15. standard shapes, dashed line, arrows, improve circle, snap into lines in template, change template of all plages

    Please have a shape option like in illustrator, u click what shape u want and u get the shape, also I really need dashed lines
    Also Circles should have those anchor points at top, left, right and bottom. Current circles have those points at random places (I added an image which explains better) and also I would like to have an option to draw circle by specifying the center (tap at the required center point and draw out the radius to get a circle)
    I don't know if something can be done about this but I have eraser size problems (I know its goodnotes is vector based but nothing bad in asking)
    I have this template created with lots of lines and dots (I made an editable pdf in which even after I export my notes from goodnotes i can edit those lines), it would be good if goodnotes could snap to those dots or lines in page background
    also option to change template of all the pages at once, those dots and lines are only for reference while writing and i want to change to blank black later but i want to do for all at once

16. Button Color Zoom Window

    In the zoom window (top right) there are the buttons voor jumping to the next line, close the window and the 3 dots. Would it be possible to get these button in white instead of blue. Iam using iPads color filters in red when working in dark places like theaters........ And these buttons are really hard to see when using the colour filters. If they are white as the other buttons this will help. See picture of the buttons

17. Copy/paste

    With the latest updates to Goodnotes, the Copy function has been buried. The icon on the popup menu is now for Duplicate instead of Copy. If you truly want to Copy (select the item to paste elsewhere) instead of Duplicate (select the item to make a duplicate on that page), you have to click on the three dots and choose Copy. Bring back the Copy icon on the popup menu. No one wants extra work to do something so simple.

18. Selection tool

    Dear Goodnotes Team,

    I hope you are doing well. I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent change in the selection tool behavior in Goodnotes Web.

    After the latest update, whenever we select elements on the canvas, several options such as Copy, Cut, Transform, Change Color, etc., automatically appear directly on top of the selected content. This makes the canvas look cluttered and makes it harder for both teachers and students to clearly view or reposition the selected items.

    Earlier, the selection experience was much cleaner. When using the lasso selection tool, only the blue dots appeared around the selected area, which allowed us to move or adjust content without any obstruction. And when we needed additional options like color change, copy, or cut, we could simply right–click, and a small dropdown menu would appear. This old system was simple, non-intrusive, and much more comfortable for teaching environments.

    For those of us who use Goodnotes for online classes, clarity and a clean canvas are extremely important. The new overlay covers the writing area and distracts students during lessons.

    I kindly request your team to consider:

    Bringing back the old clean selection style, or

    Adding an option to hide or disable the automatic floating menu,

    or allowing users to switch to the previous “right-click dropdown” style.

    Goodnotes is an excellent tool, and these small adjustments will greatly improve the teaching experience.

19. Include Photo of Current Page with/ under page number (I.e., 77 of 120, etc.)

    It’s not always easy to know what page u are currently on just based off of the page number itself, especially when you have higher quantity of pages within a notebook. It would be helpful to have a small picture of my current page (maybe under the page number or somewhere else) to ensure I am actually on the page I think I am so that I don’t accidentally delete/ copy/ insert the wrong page/ location. Currently I have to click the 3 dots first to verify the page I’m on bc 77 out of 120 doesn’t tell me much (extra unnecessary step) then trash/ copy/ insert.

20. Customizable Lasso Toolbar / Move Duplicated Text to the Next Page

    When using the Lasso Tool, I would love the option to customize the toolbar that appears after selecting content. Specifically, it would be great if actions like Copy could be placed directly on the toolbar instead of being hidden behind the three-dot menu, allowing users to choose which tools appear there.
