Duplicate a folder
You can duplicate a file but you cant duplicate a folder. I create template folders and it would be useful to duplicate the master folder.

Update
After this new update everything is so much less user freidnly. it makes me so frusterated to use. the shapes tool is critical for me in my coursework and they completely ruined it. I never makes the shape that you want and you are unable to edit it. I dont see one positve or effective change in this update. Pleas allow us to revert back to old good notes it was so much better.

The worst update ever
There are so many things that became inconvenient after this update. Here are just a few examples.
- The line spacing I saved as a default isn't applied when typing in a new text box.
- The toolbox sticks right next to the text box and blocks the background.
- Changing fonts or line spacing got much complicated.(especially line spacing, which now takes several steps.)
- After typing in a text box, it automatically deselects and switches to the lasso tool.

revert back to the old version before the update
The new update is so inefficient, you split up the tool bar which takes up more space, and it makes me feel like there's always a visual barrier at the top which is extremely distracting. listen to the feedback from many of the unsatisfied users, and quickly implement a change. Or, have options for some users to try the new update, or revert back to the old version if they don't like it. Make Text Tool Sticky
Text tool in GoodNotes 7 is not sticky. After adding text, it always switches back to the lasso tool. This makes it impossible to stay in text mode or to return with Apple Pencil double-tap/squeeze. Please allow the text tool to remain active like pen or eraser.

New Update
I know these are for a single complaint, however, the entire update is the issue and the app would be better reverted to the previous version.
This has been the worst update in a long time. First and foremost, the bookmark feature has been absolutely stripped on confidence and essentially ruined. Using the new text boxes is a nightmare - the new editing tool the sits next to the text box simply obstructs the document, is clunky, and makes editing the text boxes infinitely more difficult. Revert shape resize to what it was in the Goodnotes 6 version.
Now, when the shape snaps, you can't edit its dimensions by dragging your pen, it only resizes larger or smaller. This is an issue because I have to change the tool to the shape tool to change the dimensions, and this has a minimum width. Goodnotes 6 had a good system where the shape snapped and then you could drag your pen to change the width/height of the box rather than just scaling it up or down.

Fix shape editor. Return old UI!!
Put the old snare editor back. The new one is unintuitive and unhelpful. Instead of being able to edit a shape I get nonsensical points to move around.

Revert to old UI!!!
Please go back to the most previous UI. This new UI though more simplified, is more tedious to work with. I like the implementation of when you copy a photo, it directly sizes it from a corner instead of proportionally sizing everything. However, once you click off that image, you have to go back to the pen which wastes time during fast lectures.
The new text box interaction is also tedious since you have to hold down and click ‘start editing’ instead of just clicking a button to text on the whole page. And if you do just a small…23 votes -
Please bring back typing + handwriting in the same note
I really miss the old version where I could type text and handwrite in the same note. Now I have to choose between typing or writing note, which honestly makes note taking so much harder.
I know there’s the “text” option in the handwriting mode, but it’s just not the same… it doesn’t sync as neatly, and I waste so much time adjusting font size, boldness, spacing, etc. It totally breaks my focus and I end up missing a lot of info during class.

Update 7.0.3 is re-shaping my closed shapes. And not in a good way.
Sorry, dear Goodnotes team, but sth is not cool with the new update 7.0.3 Whenever I want to draw a closed shape, it makes it all wobbly and creates some kind of text field out of it. What’s happening? How can I make it stop? I don’t need text fields, I use always my handwriting.

Bring back ability to erase/move shape fillings
Before, you could make a shape with a fill color, and erase the filler separately from the shape outline. Now, you can’t even erase the outline and leave just the filling, or vice versa.

Remove background
The tool similar to the one they have on word ( either the remove background, or set to transparent tool) for images… because I love to make aesthetic notes and it is so time consuming having to manually remove the background on images of third party tools and then import them into my notes

Change Record back to how it looked in Goodnotes 6
The floating record numbers are extremely distracting and take up valuable space. Please revert it back to how it looked in Goodnotes 6 - a small unobtrusive icon on the toolbar.

Please bring back our peaceful everyday lives!!! Why the latest update is so bad.
I’ve been using Goodnotes every single day for years. I truly appreciated its clean interface and powerful features that supported my workflow. But the most recent update has drastically changed that, in all the wrong ways.
I kept telling myself, “This update must be useful. I just need to give it time and get used to it.”
So I patiently tried using it for several days, but in the end, I came to the conclusion that this update is harming my mental well-being.Let me outline a few reasons why this update has made the experience worse:

Tool bar
The new tool bar is killing me. My notes are taking longer because I have to do more taps to get to the tool I want. the highlighter won't highlight straight anymore. Also, the shape tool has its own colors that don't match my chosen pen presents anymore. Please please fix the straight line tool. I can't draw charts or get an actual straight line without using the ruler which adds more steps to my process. Full Dark Mode
I’d like to request a full Dark Mode, comparable to Notability, including:
• Dark UI and dark page/paper backgrounds
• Automatic ink/highlighter/sticker color adjustment for readability
• Both per-notebook and global settings, plus an option to follow system appearanceThis would reduce eye strain when writing/reading at night and improve usability on high-contrast displays. If Goodnotes offered this, I would return and subscribe.

Revert shape tool to Goodnotes 6 Version
Ever since the new update to Goodnotes 7, the shape tool is a lot less flexible and very strict and jerky when drawing shapes, and is very frustrating to work with. The previous version was much more user friendly and I have no idea why anyone thought messing with something that was working just fine was a good idea. Please change it back to the previous version or at least provide a toggle so we can choose which version we want to use instead of forcing this downgrade on everyone. Thanks!
